Ty, Roger, for bringing my tears, as I am often too horrified to even cry, like with the 85th school massacre today. My emotions came from the most unexpected place: reciting Echoes. I've loved that song since it was released, and I can't completely explain my emotions, but that it connects to Gaza, 54yrs later.. Well, it was emotional and musical and... and all those intense youthful feelings, but I will certainly never listen to it the same way again. The Israelis could take a lesson. These days must give him some special pain to see that we are continually here again. I know it does me, even from Vietnam on. When the kids were out of school for a year here in the states, my grandson was 14. He taught himself guitar that year and much to my surprise, he had a natural talent. We live together and on days I was gone from home, I assigned him homework of listening to certain Pink Floyd albums, front to back. He's 18 now, playing with musicians both his age and much older. We still have a great relationship and some deep talks. They're our future and judging from him and his contemporaries, we've got a better chance for a decent world. Ty, Roger, for bringing my tears, as I am often too horrified to even cry, like with the 85th school massacre today. My emotions came from the most unexpected place: reciting Echoes. I've loved that song since it was released, and I can't completely explain my emotions, but that it connects to Gaza, 54yrs later.. Well, it was emotional and musical and... and all those intense youthful feelings, but I will certainly never listen to it the same way again. The Israelis could take a lesson. But their prevalent culture can't, nor our leaders.
Corporal Clegg, reminded me that Roger was so deeply influenced by WWII. These days must give him some special pain to see that we are continually here again. I know it does me, even from Vietnam on. Some horrible deja vu, for sure, that will viscerally stay with me, too, for my remaining days.
I loved this conversation, did not expect any PF stories, esp pre-DSOTM, but a great distraction. Very relaxed and topical, not the typical interview, or even really one at all, although my lore is limited. Ty for caring for the important things, Roger.

When the kids were out of school for a year here in the states, my grandson was 14. He taught himself guitar that year and much to my surprise, he had a natural talent. We live together and on days I was gone from home, I assigned him homework of listening to certain Pink Floyd albums, front to back. He's 18 now, playing with musicians both his age and much older. We still have a great relationship and some deep talks. They're our future and judging from him and his contemporaries, we've got a better chance for a decent world. Talk TO kids, not AT them, you'll be amazed at how much more they hear. STILL rocking at 66, still blasting my classic rock!
