Dang man, I just realized what your old handle was and I'm no longer surprised by the quality. We used to casually cross paths in the mid-00s onward on both OC and the doom community. Glad to see you're still around dude!
The compression and my ears hearing things make the second repeat of the song sound more dramatic, mabe add echo sounds or highten the notes to capture the dramatic tone i always think of in act 1
Atlas Moth both? BOTH? are you a genius? Are you egg-shaped? Eh that last part doesn’t matter. Imagine the sound of that, the swooshes from the original and the bass from the original combined with the beta’s cheery attitude, sign me up
This is so much better that the original, has that amazing Sonic 3 and Knuckles vibe to it. Actually, this would fit perfectly as the Carnival Night theme.
Except the attempt of sonic 3 music to do some MJ style samples I don't see the "Sonic 3 vibe"" in here. Sonic 1 and 2 music are above Sonic 3 that doesn't give justice of what the megadrive could be capable of. Masato Nakamura was a genius.
@@michaelromeo9567 I may be wrong, but the way you put it make it seems like you don't see the resemblance to Sonic 3 and Knuckles only because you think its soundtrack is bad, unlike this song. Masato goes for a more jpop and "movie like" style in his soundtracks, while the Sonic 3 and Knuckles crew went for a more synth pop approach with all the sampling and stuff. I do agree that Masato was a genius and that the soundtrack for Sonic 1 and 2 are fantastic, but that being said, his compositions were designed with more acoustic instruments in mind and then adapted to the console hardware (just listen to his original demos). The Sonic 3 and Knuckles soundtrack isn't perfect, but its not that far behind, most of it was designed with a synthetic sound in mind, using the console as an instrument. I really think that Chrome Gadget, Ice Cap, Flying Battery and Death Egg at the time were among the songs that bring out the best in the console.
A quality rearrangement hurt by returning to the haunted house vibes of the original Nakamura demo. When the haunted house zone was scrapped, Sonic Team took its track and modified it to fit MCZ.
I keep coming back to your remixes, they’re so good I use them as examples on how amazing the Genesis sound chips can sound in the right hands. If only more composers back in the console’s heyday had the talent, care, and attention to detail and quality as you do it wouldn’t have the unwarranted stigma for bad sound caused by bad use of GEMS and lazy/rushed/unskilled composers who didn’t understand the hardware fully and were ignorant on how to make the Genesis sing it’s beautiful waveforms, either by lack of care, talent, know how, or all three. Oh uhh, I don’t know if you take friendly requests, but if you want to compose more Sonic 3 remixes, perhaps the Act 2 Boss theme or the Final Boss theme? Or for regular stages, perhaps Angel Island Act 2, Hydrocity Zone Act 2, or either Act 1 or 2 of Flying Battery. Or for a non-Sonic suggestion, perhaps maybe adding even more polish to the already amazing Dynamite Headdy OST if you want? Maybe Headdy the Hero, Sky High, Ohnami Konami, or You’re Izayoi to point out my favorites. Just giving friendly ideas, I don’t expect you to even read this... but if you do, hello, you’re amazing, and keep up with the good work with my favorite sound chips!
This song isn't annoying anymore! It's actually kinda hype! You've given it a Hydrocity-Sonic-3 kinda vibe that I love. Feels like Carnival Night in ways. Super awesome job; when SEGA wants to tackle 16-bit remixes, they need to talk to you. You know, on that topic...what are the chances of seeing you tackle some Sonic 4 tunes?
He does remasters which are still playable on original hardware (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis) and for this he uses chiptune tracker called Deflemask. Sonic 4 isn't synthesis chiptune so chance that he'll write Sonic 4 stuff for Mega Drive are quite low.
Hey man...think it'd be killer if you re arranged the sonic 3 beta carnival night zones and ice cap zones. Give the love to those tracks they really deserve. Or the sonic 3d blast twinkle park, since the demo of that surfaced??

It's like the circus theme but a lot better.
It's literally a perfect match to Carnival Night:

Mystic Cave Zone if it had an Act 2 remix, ala Sonic 3 & Knuckles. This is beautiful! :D

I love this album! My little brother and I used to extend my grandfathers toenails to this song. So many memories! I am very thank for your song!
This mix has that groovy Sonic 3 energy that I like in music, and doesn't take it too far like some mixes tend to. I appreciate it.
