Mega Drive Profile I get more of a Jake Kaufman vibe, especially with the added parts. When it fits perfectly with any game Virt composed for, that's how you know a remix is godly.
This was so good my mum walked into my room while it was playing and started grooving to it immediately. This is a seriously amazing rendition. Happily subbed! Hope to see a lot more of your work!
Number of times Savaged Regime has blown my mind: *I fuckin lost count* This is a beautiful cover of a great track. The original also definitely felt like it was ASKING for a transition to Genesis hardware, and Savaged Regime is once again the perfect guy to deliver that!
such a great tune here. i really like this. but to say its better than the original is going a step too far imo......this remix changes the feeling o the original
The High-Pass filtered Bass in the beginning gets me every time. You truly know how to make love to this Chip, like nobody else. Pure Genious and Motivation, is what makes you by far one of, if not the best, Chip-Musician out there! I Love You ( no homo )
How did I miss this... This is actually one of my favorite tunes in the Sonic franchise. Always felt like the zone deserved a remake in a new mainline game.
I'd love to hear more 8-bit Sonic music get the Genesis remix treatment. Like "Bridge Zone" from Sonic 1 GG/SMS would sound amazing, or "Underground Zone" from Sonic 2 GG/SMS, or Sonic Labyrinth's OST.
I'm a simple man. I see a notification from SR, I click on it and automatically press the like button. On a side note, this would work perfectly with the 2nd act, with all that rain and dark sky
This a dope jam! I feel like if Genocide City Zone was a thing this would fit the zone perfectly. This track is giving me a good mix of Sonic and Streets of Rage vibes 🔥🔥🔥
This song gives such a calm vibe that it blows my mind. I also feel that this could work for an act 3 to where the rain is much softer and more of a drizzle rather than thunder.❤
God, what a disgustingly tasty jam. Thanks for posting this. :) you don’t have any way of getting any of your stuff on Spotify, do you? I’d love to jam to these in my car sometime.
Dope! Hey buddy I got a weird question for you... Any chance you still have that copy of Earth Wind and Fire Let's Groove you were working on like 15 years ago? It was great.
I like how, unlike other remixes like this, it sounds like if it was 16-bit since the beginning, while other remixes only replace instruments and still make it sound too much like the original, making it a little bit weird
Call me strange, but something I wish we saw in Sonic Mania is demake, classic-styled versions of the music using the Genesis soundfont for that more authentic feel. This cover is perfect and I would love to hear something like this in a new Classic Sonic game.
As a remix? This is sublime. As a "16-bit era _Sonic_ game tune," it could be better. Though, as mentioned in the comments, it certainly has that _Chaotix_ vibe, so.
@John Smith Legitimate challenge, for one. All of the Genesis ones are piss-easy if you stock up on extra lives in the first couple of zones. On the Master System, extra lives are a lot more precious, and with the way the stages and the bosses are designed, you can burn through them in the blink of an eye.
Great remix! I should apologize for your misattribution of the track though--Masayuki Nagao is the name of a composer I previously suspected was an alias for Naofumi Hataya and in the zeal of my younger years spread that information as fact. The song is likely instead the work of Masafumi Ogata, more aptly explaining the presence of "You Can Do Anything" as the Green Hills Zone music.
Honestly, I always did wonder what tracks did Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata did in that soundtrack; it's honestly one of the best SMS/GG soundtracks that I have seen on the system, so it's sad there's no proper credits for what tracks they did lol (by which I mean a proper soundtrack, since while there is some info on Sonic/Sega Retro, I'm honestly not sure if they are actually trustworthy enough IMO)
This is actually pretty good! I'm really glad I heard it and it would fit a Sonic game on Mega Drive! ......heres the thing though.....IT IS NOT BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL.
This track always reminded me of something Ancient would have made, then I found out they didn't make Sonic 2 o.o did Yuzo Koshiro work on this game? Your remix sounds great, excellent use of the ladder effect. Is this recorded on real hardware?
I know this is from Sonic 2 gg but I keep getting a Knuckles Chaotix vibe from this. Anyhow, excellent work as always.
Door to Summer maybe?
The best compliment possible imo. The soundtrack was the best part of Chaotix.
I think of The Hybrid Front
It reminds me more of Hydrocity Zone from Sonic 3, personally.

You have a very cool mom

now I understand why is this used in "Another Sonic 2 Remake"
man its so freaking good
I love how mellow the rhythm is. That bass pops in all the right areas. Jammin'! 💖
This...does put a smile on my face
The High-Pass filtered Bass in the beginning gets me every time.

Regime showcases his skill and prowess to us all once again.
I've only heard 3 of your remixes
yet I subscribed because its some good stuff
Very cool how you made it sound like some of Sonic CD's music, fits well with the same original composer and all :V
Good stuff!
Funky as hell remix dude, makes me imagine that the zone is quite windy and dangerous but there's a comforting twinkling night sky above me.
I'm a simple man. I see a notification from SR, I click on it and automatically press the like button.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD RUSTY ROM!
This a dope jam! I feel like if Genocide City Zone was a thing this would fit the zone perfectly. This track is giving me a good mix of Sonic and Streets of Rage vibes 🔥🔥🔥
Nice detail with the color palette used for the background. As always, fantastic work.
Your remixes are pure gold. I love how clean they sound. Genesis truly does what Nintendon't !
Man I love that groovy bass!
Sky High but its sunset/evening.
Amazing genesis cover!
*PHEW* ... Thank you for reliving my childhood Game Gear sound torture in a full real instrumental. My memories can finally breathe.
This song gives such a calm vibe that it blows my mind. I also feel that this could work for an act 3 to where the rain is much softer and more of a drizzle rather than thunder.❤
Sounds more like an underwater level than a sky level. I like it a lot.
Especially reminds me of Smog City Sewer from Spark the Electric Jester.
I'll tell you what, rolling through the silent hills and farmlands of Florida and Georgia, USA, with this tune gives me the feels.
This is my favorite Sonic-related thing in the history of ever.
This is how I imagine Marble Garden's Bad Future would sound like. Epic rendition!
Massive respect from a huge Sonic fan from the early 90s. Thank you.
And I was just wondering this morning when the next masterpiece was going to be released. Thank you SR!
I see your channel only now, and I'm already impressed on how good you are at those remixes!
absolutely fantastic stuff as usual i love ittt
Goosebumps. Well done.
Jeez, louise. I wish the GG sounded this good. It makes me hear the similarities between its older brother's Sonic games and the tracks on GG.
Oh I know Toejam and Earl instruments when I hear em.
This is literally so good that it sounds like an Act 2 Remix. Which is actually pretty appropriate, since Act 2 is stormy.
Hot damn, found an extra life with this one.
Amazing! only if all SEGA Genesis games had this quality back in the day!
It sounds great!
This is SICK.
I would love to see more sonic 2 gg covers!
sounds like an act 3/5 for a lava zone
makes me want to hear more sky level tracks that sound like this
Superb !
Really Nice and very good job.
I like it.
If I said it was incredible, it would still be a little, thanks Savaged!
Sweet Work~!
Love it love it love it!
I get major Sonic 4 Episode 2 Music Proposal vibes from this, and I love it!
Really mellow remix, I love it.
i can't stop listening to this
it's so good
10 months later and i still love this
God, what a disgustingly tasty jam. Thanks for posting this. :) you don’t have any way of getting any of your stuff on Spotify, do you? I’d love to jam to these in my car sometime.
This is just too good.
This tune is so hot the YM2612 is going to need a heat sink installed!
Dope! Hey buddy I got a weird question for you... Any chance you still have that copy of Earth Wind and Fire Let's Groove you were working on like 15 years ago? It was great.
wut, he did a cover on that? I'd love to hear it!
You should listen to SiivaGunner's. His is Door Into Summer Alpha Mix
This is so good!
Perfect!!!
Sky High-Bad future
Excellent
it'll be heaven if you cover all of sonic 2 gg/ms musics
I like how, unlike other remixes like this, it sounds like if it was 16-bit since the beginning, while other remixes only replace instruments and still make it sound too much like the original, making it a little bit weird
Amazing remix!
Nice!
This rocks
I like the use of Wacky Workbench past bass
Siiiiiiiiiiiiick

vibing :3
Huh, in a different key. More of a Spring Yard vibe (especially with that callback). Great work, nonetheless!
I feel a strong influence coming from Tee Lopes' Stardust Speedway act 1 in Sonic Mania
I need more 8- to 16-bit arrangements!
Shit is funkier than my Reebok sneaks can handle!
I love you, and the same the music of course ♥️
As a remix? This is sublime.
As a "16-bit era _Sonic_ game tune," it could be better. Though, as mentioned in the comments, it certainly has that _Chaotix_ vibe, so.
Any chance of getting an Underground Zone Remix? This was incredible!!!
this literally sounds like Chaotix music
Genuinely sounds straight out of 3D Blast
To me, this sounds like something from the funkier side of 80s synth-pop.
Ya know what it also sounds like?
P U R E *E X C E L L E N C E*
I love sonic 2 game for sms in sega genesis cover. 💖
This is how I imagined an Act 2 of Sky Hill would sound if it was in Sonic Mania
Funky!
8-bit Sanics are really underrated.
I liked 1, chaos, and blast, didn't like 2 or Triple Trouble. They are pretty overlooked
@John Smith Pretty solid platofrming. Not super speed based but fun and fair. In some cases anyway. Sonic 2 isn't really fun nor fair.
@John Smith Legitimate challenge, for one.

I wanna see this game remastered like what fans are doing to Sonic Chaos and Triple Trouble.

This sounds like sky high but in the prehistoric times
Awwwwwww yeeeeeeah
This is happenin!
Emerald hill zone from Gen Sonic 2 some day? 😃
This sounds like something out of Mutant Mudds.
The intro sounds like something right off of a Stevie Wonder album.
Sonic Zoom - Crystal Cave
Very nice!!
...do the same to Scramble Egg Zone.
Bro how did you make E Major/C# Minor so laid back
May I use this in a SRB2 mod?
D i v i n e .

Sounds like Tidal Tempest
Sounds like Stardust Speedway past inspired this remix.
Wow this is amazing nice remix/remake what did you use to make it I would really love to try and use these tools
I believe its made in Deflemask
The majority of the stuff he makes is done with Deflemask
You can see his music being played in Deflemask (This example is Metamorphic Force - Stage 1): th-cam.com/video/T4uPDvN0g68/w-d-xo.html
The dislikes are from Eggman and another one of his 70 alts.
EDIT: This comment has no right to be dated. Fix your site, TH-cam!
This is actually pretty good! I'm really glad I heard it and it would fit a Sonic game on Mega Drive!
......heres the thing though.....IT IS NOT BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL.
the original is on the Sega master system a 8bit sound chip so this is better
@@ragezone9188 the 8 bit sound is perfect for the tune.
@@troywright359 this sounds like music the 8 bit sounds like beeps it's inferior
@@ragezone9188 then you might as well say real instruments are superior to this because the sound quality is higher
in cart music not real music
Has anyone done a “dubbed” cartridge with your soundtrack replacing the original?
If you're talking about the Master System/Game Gear cartridge then this being on that would be an impossibility
is this on real hardware?
yes
This track always reminded me of something Ancient would have made, then I found out they didn't make Sonic 2 o.o did Yuzo Koshiro work on this game? Your remix sounds great, excellent use of the ladder effect. Is this recorded on real hardware?
Always felt like sky high zone sounded more like an act 2 remix of something.
First!
Awesome remix!
If sonic 2 ever made it to the sega CD
Sky High Zone (Past remix)
