    The Great Bobby Byrd was an awesome talent. Byrd and Brown were like fuel and fire. If you notice Byrd kept a constant eye on Brown while performing, and you had to too. Brown was a genius, but he did his own thing the way he wanted and Byrd knew it. God bless them both.

    Just check out the sublime moves that James was known to own but BOBBY just oozes more of, this man was for me the "Funkiest man alive"! Several singles and one live album at KING with the credits of this song proves me right if you take time to dig for BOBBY BYRD!

    The LAST TWO FAMOUS FLAMES: BROWN & BYRD . in mid 1966, Famous Flame LLOYD STALLWORTH quit the group...leaving only the "Three B's" , BROWN, BYRD, and BENNETT.
    Then, in 1968, The other Flames, Bobby Byrd & Bobby Bennett also quit, effectively ENDING The Famous Flames, leaving Brown as a solo act. BUT, about 18 months later, James' friend, Bobby Byrd returned, at James' request. This began a period where the two remaining Famous Flames began singing DUETS on several hit singles , such as "SEX MACHINE", "MAKE IT FUNKY", "SOUL POWER", "TALKING LOUD AND SAYING NOTHING", and "GET ON UP, GET INTO IT, GET INVOLVED" among other hits.

      You my funky friend for life got the fact straight. BOBBY BYRD was an extraordinary soul man with an exceptional "funky" talent that "found" a man and let him into his gospel group called THE FLAMES that later became THE FAMOUS FLAME. From this time and after JAMES BROWN took over the show but people like you and me know our rhythm-based music and their heritage so...BOBBY BYRD for president!

    • @williamg2552
      @williamg2552 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True. The FAMOUS FLAMES were a SINGING GROUP. They were not musicians or JB Bandmembers. The members were : BOBBY BYRD (Group Founder), BOBBY BENNETT, LLOYD STALLWORTH, and JAMES BROWN. (Yes, James Brown was a Famous Flame TOO). Another occasional member was JOHNNY TERRY, but he eventually left the act , but continued as songwriter and occasional performer with the group.

      QueenAnita Soul
      - The FAMOUS FLAMES were a SINGING GROUP. And you're right , they were formed by BOBBY BYRD (not James Brown) ....long BEFORE that BAND was even formed. In FACT, it was BOBBY BYRD who even discovered JAMES BROWN himself !!
      The problem is that later fans , who have NEVER SEEN JAMES BROWN & THE FAMOUS FLAMES as a GROUP, think till this very day, that The Flames were musicians and JB Bandmembers . But , this is INCORRECT .The Band members were part of a SEPARATE ENTITY known as the James Brown Band. This band BROKE UP in 1970...for the same reason why The Famous FLAMES Vocal Group, (Bobby Byrd, Bobby Bennett, and Lloyd Stallworth) broke up in 1968....MONEY. This left Brown WITHOUT a band (The James Brown Orchestra)...and without a singing group (The Famous Flames)...and shows he was contracted to do. Once again, just like he did in 1958, BOBBY BYRD returned...and SAVED Brown's career....by discovering a replacement band (The J.B.'s)... Just as he had discovered The Famous Flames singing group (and Brown HIMSELF) , MANY YEARS BEFORE. Click on THIS LINK, and see James tell David Letterman just WHO The Famous FLAMES really were. Hint: They WERE NOT Maceo, Fred Wesley, Bootsy Collins, and company .
      th-cam.com/video/iJXITLhrzJw/w-d-xo.html
      The James Brown Band were NOT The Famous Flames.
      They actually BACKED James Brown & The Famous Flames.
