Hiya, your grandpa was... and still is a legend, I been playing music now for 50 years, played on over 20 albums produced 6 and 2 gold. I always thought thought Mr Byrd had a more interesting voice than James ... but Mr Brown sure could dance.
All I hope is they're up there in heaven taking the house. down.. You can be very proud of his legacy 🌹 RIP Bobby Byrd. 👑🙏🙏

Well done documentation. And as important as the already existing documentations of other J.B.s members that created a lot James stands for today in the public.

You told "nothing but the truth", brother. I've loved James Brown since the moment I saw him . . . and I've loved Bobby Byrd!! He has been there throughout most of JB's career - often hyping JB as much as anybody could!! Bobby, there is a large number of people that know who you are, and what you did for funk music! I KNOW you got soul!!!

Bobby Byrd deserves equal credit along with JB for bringing us the FUNK! There would be no FUNK without BOBBY BYRD! Rest well, MR. BYRD! ❤

Bobby Byrd was to laid back and James Brown took advantage of his kindness, Bobby should have grabbed James by his collar a few times, since James cowardly whooped up on women, history would have been rewritten about thier relationship.

You fotgot to mention the fact that Bobby and the FAMOUS FLAMES were inducted into the ROCK and ROLL HALL OF FAME in 2012, and The RHYTHM & BLUES HALL of FAME in 2020.

ANOTHER fact that this video DIDN’T point out…was that, although THE FLAMES first BEGAN as a Vocal/Instrumental group, that group BROKE UP after just THREE SESSIONS. After that , ALL FUTURE VERSIONS of THE FAMOUS FLAMES were VOCAL GROUPS ONLY…with NO instrumental members, as Brown then hired the JC DAVIS BAND to back him and the now all-vocal FAMOUS FLAMES from then on.
See “The FAMOUS FLAMES” in Wikipedia.

Made respect for Jay Z for offering 65% of the royalties to Bobby Byrd. That man truly is unsung. James Brown is foul as hell....as much as I love him as an artist.

Bobby's father was a well-respected church leader in the community. He wrote a letter to the warden of the juvenile detention center, where Brown was serving time. In the letter Bobby's father said, in his letter, that he felt Brown was a changed young man and guaranteed him place to live upon his release. This helped Brown get an early release.

    Another Important Fact
that this video did NOT point out…was that
THE FAMOUS FLAMES (including BOBBY BYRD), were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012…and The Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2020.

Today, James Brown is known as “The Godfather of Soul.”
But, in the Fifties and Sixties, NOBODY called him by that nickname.
NOBODY!! That nickname was a ‘70’s-80’s thing.
Back in the FIFTIES and SIXTIES, James was known as
    “ MISTER DYNAMITE!!”

Byrd was a good man and my friend. He would come around from time to time trying to get his money from Brown but always managed to get away. I feel sorry for Bobby, but he was not the only one that got gotten as I had my moments with Brown, not as big but still! More later in my book one day!
