If a transmission is left unserviced long enough, the old worn fluid can cause accelerated wear to piston seals and also mask piston seal wear since it's not as slick as new fluid. In other words, it can seal them better. But, in reality I've only seen that a handful of times on a 6f35 and not really on any other Ford transmissions. And since you're trying to fix a shudder, you should definitely service it.
Hello i am looking for an overhaul kit 8F40 ...its the 8F35 the same? i cannot found the kit 8F40.. have you a link to buy this parts.. thanks.. you made a great Video..
Having 8f40 in my Ford Mondeo 2019 and 130Tkm on the clock..fluid never changed by Ford service..hope its not too late. What do you think about flushing this transmittion while changing fluid?
Why use a cleaner on such few miles if you’re going to drain and fill 2 times? I would definitely do that drain and fill two times and then maybe drain and fill once a year and after 60k miles do the cleaner. All speculation. Not too knowledgeable on cleaner in transmissions other than there’s a ton of detergents in transmission fluid and using one like amsoil 2 times and then year seems like it would keep it pretty clean and healthy
If you service it regularly, you don't need to add cleaner. This is for situations where it's been neglected and is filthy, or has a torque converter shudder

I got Mondeo 2.0 Ecoblue 2020 year. I got that same transmission, and where's the filter of atf transmission fluid? And can i take Febi Bilstein 32600 atf? Please help.
Hi, it's an internal non serviceable filter (unless the trans is removed and tore down) and I'm unfamiliar with that fluid, it's not sold here. It should meet the spec of mercon ulv
The transmission filter is a screen. Changing the screen will not make a difference. Changing the transmission oil every 30,000 miles will make a difference.

hi, can you tell me if the transmission flush service will correct the bucking jerking that so many Ford Edge SUVs have problems with ? or is this just a bandaid sort of? is there a permanent fix?
The flush procedure I've done has been a permanent fix for torque converter shudder. I've flushed a hundred or so various Ford transmissions over the years and never had one come back with a shudder again

I have a 2019 Edge SEL with 36k miles and I went to my local dealership wanting to do a transmission update to correct a weird jerking that happens when going up and down the highway at speeds between 20MPH - 45MPH.
