That goes to show the respect Sonic has for Shadow for being a true hero and friend doing everything he can to bring back the sonic we know and love before he truly stain his hands by eggman machinations

1: The fact that I realised what Shadow would do as a final attempt to restore Sonic's memory at the same time he did is a testament to your excellent writing; that was an awesome use of pre-established information and abilities. Without you needing to say it (though you did moments later), the audience is able to figure out what Shadow can do. You retroactively gave Shadow learning of his origin even more significance than just acting as the catalyst for his acquisition of the Black Arms. I can only say bravo, man. And amazing work. 2: I really like that this ending so naturally lends itself to being the jumping off point for so many other potential Sonic What-Ifs (eg: "What If Shadow Was The Black Arms' Leader?", "What If Dr.Eggman Disappeared?", "What If Shadow Wasn't Present During Sonic 06?", "What If Metal Sonic Acted Independently After Heroes?"). Now this is a well made finale. Shadow is outright scary here. The guy was already powerful enough with his teleportation, time freezing, and energy constructs. Now he has an army, black doom attacks, and telekinetic abilities in the mix. Black Shadow really does give the vibe of an alien ruler, and that last scene where Shadow rockets then teleports straight to Sonic before forcibly unlocking his mind I could perfectly imagine with full CGI and everything. Fitting to Shadow's new role, that was very unnerving and overlord like. Without context Shadow would most certainly come across as the alien overlord and villain. Glad to see that Shadow realizes that a hammer can be used to protect or destroy. Over time he can change their nature and Shadow has all the time in the universe. There are still the Metarex (should you want to include them and their story), the ancient Babylonians, and the Whisps as well as tones of galactic communal work to keep the noble Black Shadow and the black arms busy for a long time. On the ground with Eggman gone forever, Metal Sonic would most likely take his former creator's place attempting multiple times to break Eggman out as well as a never ending bid and campaign to outdo Sonic in everything and prove that he is the superior Sonic.
This was such an epic finale. The full-circle culmination and callbacks to moments throughout the AU, as well as overall Sonic moments and quotes made this a joy. I'm glad that Eggman got consequences to some degree in the end, as opposed to escaping and being let off for all the chaos he caused. I'm even gladder about the happy, wholesome ending after all the a n g s t. This was truly wonderful and I can safely say that in my opinion this and Episode Shadow were worth the 3 months without an official episode and the 10 months since the last part. I do wonder what would happen with Metal seeing as he was searching to go back with creator, who is locked away in space. I guess Sonic has a new mainline nemesis now.
Wow, that was a rollercoaster of emotions that almost had me crying. This was an amazing finale, despite that it was a little bit bittersweet with Shadow's final decision at the end. I'm so happy that everything ended well and I'm glad it didn't end how I was worried it would. Amazing job, Sega Scourge and I can't wait for more chapters of the rest of the stories!
That was awesome! If I were to guess there's an aftermath, Sonic would page Shadow from time to time to check up on him, Metal Sonic would be the next big bad, and if I were to guess, things might be a lot peaceful on both worlds. It's all worth this amazing ending

I have to ask: what's going to happen to the intro from here on? Is Imperial Sonic going to be replaced by a new icon once the next series is introduced? Or are we going to stick with this for now? Btw this series was awesome and I can't wait to see more! I'd personally love to see a side-story for Black Shadow in the vein of Masako's Revelation F. It'd be a lot of work, but who knows?

I honestly kinda expected Shadow to give up his life in restoring Sonic's memories. Maybe I was looking too much into the self-sacrifice aspect of the original 'what if?' To be honest though your writing exceeded all expectations, your work is incredible and deserves more recognition. Now, about those Tails and Metal Sonic What-ifs at the beginning...
Wow!! I don't have words to describe this finale. The sheer intensity, the twists and turns of the fight between the super hedgehogs, ending in a move I didn't consider at all during the whole video. Two things I thought during your description of the fight between Sonic and Shadow: - the intensity of the fight divided into multiple parts (kinda like the Final Fantasy final boss fights, like Kefka or Sephiroth) - the only music I believed it could fit here, because of not only the brutality of the fight, but also the sadness and the desperation of Shadow for Sonic to come back. I believe you can agree that "Brother My Brother", by Blessid Union of Souls, is the perfect pick here. This finale led to some unfinished thoughts, like what will Metal Sonic do, without Eggman? The games after this scenario, how could they be tackled, like Unleashed and Colors? Will Sonic take a break to find his own path to a new chapter of his life? Shadow's journey through space, how will he managed the regulation of his army and keeping Eggman at bay (probably with the neuro-toxin paralysing gas)? We can only imagine... Congratulations on your first ever completed Sonic What If Scenario!! This story was very interesting to watch, and we can only hope that the next idea for a scenario, or whenever the next part of your current scenarios could be as good as their were until now, with well-thought writing, clever ideas and surprising voice actors pals alongside you.
HOOO BOY WHAT A FINALE! Not gonna lie I very nearly cried at the ending. I loved the Black Arms inclusion in this story as well as how Shadow was portrayed. As always, can't wait to see what comes next! ^w^
Ya know I did think Sonic's amnesia in the IDW comics was resolved a little too easily. Same with Eggman using Omega's power. Like i get it the metal virus saga had just ended but still
So I’m extremely happy with the outcome. Definitely threw in some curve balls I didn’t see coming, and the ending is definitely good and almost a little tear jerky lol. But, if I may make a suggestion. You could pull a Masoko X here. After his “What if Frieza Turned Good” story ended, he made a spin off series called “Revelation F” which falls frieza and his group through space. I personally would love to see something similar with Shadow. It wouldn’t have to be updated super often, but it could be a side project to give Shadow a little more, as I feel in terms of a happy ending, he kinda got the short end of the stick. It’s only a suggestion, but I think it would be really cool
yeah and maybe we could have some episodes talking about how metal has taken over and is doing hat he did in the comics and became the new eggman possibly changing colors to where the black arms are fighting a newly powered wisp metal army with sonic and co going to help shadow
Okay so this is the second series I watched and, once again, just like with Werehog, you *killed* it with this go around! I honestly could imagine everything in a neat little animation style as you described it because you described the characters actions and emotions so well that, I couldn't help but *see* it! The ending is also so, so sweet, makes it feel like this story has an actual continuation to it and not just a simple "Hey this happened, shit hit the fan, shit got resolved, everything's back to normal" (apologies for the language lol) and, I like it when stories do that sort of thing! Leave the audience speculating on what may happen next! I hope you are having a great day Scourge, and remember, always make sure to take care of yourself before tackling a project way outside of your headspace's reach! Keep bein' awesome, man!

This was absolutely amazing writing, I loved this, and I think it's really interesting that you basically created an ending for the series that would have taken place around the time of the series reboot. You have such love and respect for the characters.
Got any new ideas for a “What If?” The series looks to be getting smaller again. Maybe: What if Chaos didn’t go back into the Master Emerald at the end of SA1?
But the official/canon Sonic Forces prequel comics confirmed that Chaos resides in the Master Emerald. Knuckles even stated that he comes out every so often
Imma be honest I like this new sonic cause I think it gives the other characters a chance to shine and while the what it is ending I would have loved to see this go to forces and have infinite involved as well seeing sonic with eggman as the resistance tries their best to fight their old friend I’m sad sonic will most likely be good again but hey great job scourge can’t wait for the future of what if’s and I actually have one what if shadow woke up early like in the days of the classic era? Just a thought and keep up the great work!

41:47 - 42:36 The exchange between Sonic and Black Shadow was music to my ears. The latter wants to destroy Eggman in order to decrease or eliminate any chances of the mad scientist returning to wage war on Sonic's world or Earth; the former, while understanding Black Shadow's reasons for wanting to finish the job, expresses his morals and beliefs on life without resorting to bringing up Black Shadow's past actions before his Heel-Face turn. When I first watched that segment of the clip, I had hoped Sonic wouldn't do what his IDW counterpart did to Shadow. But fortunately, he didn't do anything like that. And he mentioned Maria in a more positive light rather than using her name to mentally and emotionally manipulate Black Shadow into bowing down to his wishes to spare Eggman. Sonic KNOWS Eggman is the kind of person who will NEVER change unless he WISHES to. But he doesn't believe that Eggman deserves to have his life taken from him, no matter what he has done. Though I am a bit confused about how Sonic will feel tainted (in terms of morality and sanity) and responsible for allowing Black Shadow to kill Eggman. The blood would be on Black Shadow's hands, not Sonic's.
I guess it's mainly that.. Sonic couldn't stand by and LET Black Shadow slay Eggman. To him, doing nothing still makes him an associate to murder. I s'pose he just didn't want to end all this violence with more violence, haha Also, thank you for all the admiration on the writing and character interactions! 🙏

I love this what if it was very unique on the takes and everything on it, it was a master piece and the story especially caught my interest by far it was AWESOME and awesome finale for this what if, i hope that the next what if would be awesome as well

what if idea: what if silver beat iblis in the future? he could have found the chaos emeralds or maybe the time stones and used it to beat iblis. this would make mephalis and maybe even eggman nega a bigger threat for him to face without going back in time and we could see a future version of the sonic heroes featuring the decedents of the sonic crew.
He did. Repeatedly. It never stuck because Iblis is fundamentally unkillable. Iblis literally could not be stopped without sealing it, which Blaze might not have even entertained if she hadn't seen how beautiful the world was before Iblis with her own two eyes, and DEFINITELY wouldn't know to do it if Silver hadn't watched the Duke of Soleanna seal Iblis in Elise. Even then, it wouldn't change Mephiles's plan. He already travels back in time to reunite with Iblis in canon. Eggman Nega being the sole villain leads to Silver traveling back in time to pursue him, anyways, as shown by the Rivals games. -Eggman Nega also might not even EXIST in the original Iblis timeline, since Eggman could have died with Elise in the Egg Carrier crash, and we don't know when Eggman, uh... reproduces.-

Also we might not have Burning Blaze (Blaze first tapped into the form upon absorbing Iblis), and, unless Silver seals himself away as Blaze does, the Sol Dimension might not exist (there's a theory the Sol Dimension is based at least in part on Blaze's memories and imagination).
I'm not even gonna lie, this is probably one of favorite fan stories of any fandom of all time because holy smokes this was beautiful. The storytelling, weaving the games events as well as future games like 06 and Shadow was flawless and the characterization was on point. I could totally see this being adapted into a fan animation project similar to Nazo Unleashed. This was one hell of a ride and I'm so happy the story came to a satisfying conclusion.
Sonic Heroes would probably go about the same but with the two super hedgehogs beating Metal Overlord Meanwhile Shadow the Hedgehog would be like the Episode Shadow from this What If, except with both hedgehogs on Earth in time to prevent the Black Arms invasion from doing some major damage and with him likely still taking over as Black Shadow, Sonic would probably convince him to not get rid of the army If Eggman tries to attack Earth like he did originally during the Black Arms invasion it's likely he would still be taken into custody by Black Shadow like happened here, otherwise he'd be free to do as he pleases as in the games

Shadow leading the Black Arms to be used for some good is a twist I did not see coming, and I love it! And even after everything he's been through, Sonic's still the same guy we know and love at the end of it. I give this series a 100/10! 🌟🌟
This fight definitely exceeded my expectations and was better than I imagined! This was an amazing series and I'm looking forward for the others to continue as well such as emerald's & jemerald's Origins, Were-hodge, & Gamma's Adventures. Though I would be surprised if black shadow and his Black Arms Army went to war against the Metarex Empire from Sonic X.
I am absolutely decimated. That was such a fantastic story I am gonna shed a tear like- woah. Y'know what I mean? Why does Shadow always end up to be so lonely?? My guy needs a *damn* hug
I wouldn't be surprised if one day you decide to make videos regarding the aftermath of this what-if, with one spinoff focusing on how different Sonic's later adventures (such as Sonic Battle, the Sonic Rush duology, Unleashed, Generations, and Forces) would be with Metal Sonic taking over as the new main villain, and the other one focused on Shadow's odyssey through the cosmos facing unknown threats with the help of the Black Arms while keeping Eggman in check.
16:36 from a game standpoint, wouldn't that make for an interesting boss fight in a sonic game... or in this what if case, Shadow. A desperate battle to who runs out of rings first.

I-i have no words! That ending has to be one of the best endings for a sonic ending. Of course shadow using his blood to make sonic remember was very suprising. The super battle was amazing and the ending bit of it was truly amazing. I look forward to more of these videos!

I dont think I can put everything I have to say in one comment. You blew me the hell out of the water, Scourge. I'm just at a loss for words. This is incredible, never seen anything like it. You may not see this comment, but I want you to know that you are a FAR better storyteller than 90% of the writers on Fanfiction and Wattpad, no offense to them. This is a PERFECT ending, none of the other conflicts even happen. Blaze's world, Silver's future are safe. Dark Gaia is never released, the Wisps are never taken captive, the Zeti never even discovered. The Time Eater never shows up, and thus Classic Sonic's timeline doesn't split, staying just as the past, so no Phantom Ruby. Only things I see still happening here are the storybook games, and no way in hell would Sonic lose those conflicts, especially after going through this. Perfect ending. WOW this was AMAZING great job! The writing was SO good from part 1 all the way to the Black Shadow story (that's after the final one) is SO good the characters are well written and a great story line. I love this what if a lot it shows that even though there rivals they'll put that aside to help save the world no matter what. It also shows that Sonic and Shadow's relationship has grown a little after the ark incident because in a little animated video after they put the ark back into place Shadow started to fall, but Sonic caught him and didn't want to let go Shadow told him to let go and go back to the ark, but Sonic refused and told Shadow that his life matters too. I LOVE Shadow SO much so seeing this warms my heart the fact that Shadow keeps his promise and decided to act/be a double agent for the world and Sonic is just incredible it shows that he is not (edge) and has a heart and cares about people and his friends and would protect them no matter what I LOVE that we get to see a side of Shadow that we sadly don't get to see anymore. After all that sinning and gaining sin points he FINALLY got to be the king of hell. (SnapCube Shadow The Hedgehog fan dub) So sense Shadow's alien blood mixed with Sonic's when the wounds touched dose that mean Sonic is part Black Arms too? This was AMAZING thank you Sega Scourge.
Beautifully told story. It's usually very difficult to write how Shadow would deal with Eggman if he's given the chance as murder would be the most likely decision he'd make to protect humanity, but the way you handled this issue was very kind and respectful. Amazing work as always, Scourge.

Imagine metal becomes like shard evaluating himself and what he can do and how the hero’s showed him kindness despite his past evil it would be a cool after effect of sonic leaving and with shadow gone it would be pretty cool
This went above and beyond everything I had hoped for!!! Your story telling and narration in the character's voices along with the visuals is so thorough and compelling that I binge watched all of this. It went full circle and tied up loose ends and really answered the "what if" of Sonic falling while Shadow survived. Makes more sense because Sonic has better control of his super form than Shadow does, he's done it more frequently. So if he falls to Earth in his super form, it could slightly cushion the impact, Sonic would still be hurt really badly but would survive. More plausible than Shadow hurtling through the atmosphere, as we can clearly see at the end of SA2 that he loses his super form while still in space, I always wondered how he survived that impact and re entry into the Earth's atmosphere. But the plot armor is strong for this hedgie. Imagine Shadow actually rehabilitating the black arms, kinda like My Little Pony and the Changelings. Also happy that both hedgehogs come to an understanding that Eggman is a genuine threat but everyone deserves second chances but Eggman will never change his ways, so Shadow agrees to supervise him and keep the black arms away from Earth to not cause harm. Out of respect for Sonic and his steadfast compassion, Shadow would feel remorse for killing his creators grandson, internalizing Sonic's moral compass but also forging his own pathway.

😁 Thanks, just watched it! Despite Eggman being in a bleak situation, he's still a master emotional manipulator for his own gains, it's unsettling. Never shows regret or remorse for his wrong doings and just continues to try overtaking the world. Sometimes I wonder what happened in his childhood to make him crave so much attention on such a grandiose scale. He's had multiple chances to kill Sonic but doesn't because he loves the thrill of the cat and mouse game with Sonic and it tests his intellectual genius coming up with ways to fight Sonic.
Here’s a few predictions of what could possibly happen if this timeline continues: Perhaps Metal Sonic will takes control of whatever remains of the Eggman Empire and begin searching the galaxy for the black combat to save his creator? Perhaps Eggman breaks out of the with the help of Metal and comes across Planet Wisp long before he should’ve? Perhaps on Sonic’s world some alternate version of sonic riders takes place and on Earth I have only altered version of 06 would take play. Just spit bawling ideas of what could potentially happen after this point.
Ah man! I absolutely loved this finale and the series as a hole! Also a funny story, on the same day this finale was uploaded, I looked back at your channel, cause of wanting to rewatch the metal sonic is sonic theory, and saw all these what if’s, and I was so amazed, funny how I found this hole thing the day it ended when the last parts were 7 mouths ago- and I literally put everything aside that day, and binged watched this hole what if, and needless to say, I. FREAKIN. LOVED. IT! The way how sonic takes the responsibility to stop the ark, and his confusion and anger over trying to find out the truth, him being a part of team dark and vise versa for shadow, as well as his new empire look, the gloves and boots look fantastic! also I can’t help but say how meaningful I think it is with sonic having half white and half black gloves is…like, the white representing the good he thinks he is doing and still has deep down, and the black representing how much more dark and dangerous he’s become since losing his memory, As well as that symbol for sonic to remember these events and maybe even give him strength to go forward and do better, that being the scar on his eyebrow. That was a nice touch. And of course, I loved the new reason silver came to take sonic out, and the androids being the reason the world ends in his future, how shadow ends up becoming the new leader of the black arms and making peace with Maria’s childhood friend Abraham Tower (which I didn’t know his name till I watched this what if, actually- so…thanks!), and over shadow’s own adventure, is able to bring sonic back, and before that the full circle super fight where they came so close to using a conjoint chaos control once again, and how eggman is taken away by shadow to finally give mobius and earth some peace, despite there still being more threats on both worlds, the main one has been delt with, and the punishment is well deserved to eggman after brainwashing sonic and everything he has done in the past, and what he would have done in the future if he was able to get away…but I still have to feel bad for him, since he’s probably going to suffer and die on that comet- And another thought, with eggman gone, metal is going to have to find a new purpose on mobius since eggman is out of the picture…he’ll probably find something during his time of lying low going forward though, hopefully. I just….love all of it! A truly deep and amazing story with darker aspects, but retaining the same hope and charisma a usual sonic adventure has..that I see, anyway. Not to mention that bittersweet ending🥺✊🏻 You have done really good Man and I can’t appreciate the time and passion you put into this story telling enough! And I’m sure the same goes for other’s, Safe to say you have earned my subscription! And I just can’t wait to binge the other what if’s and to watch the ones to come, I’m sure it’s gonna be awesome 😁👍🏻

I know I'm super late on this but this finale far exceeded my expectations. I like shadows way of taking care of eggman without killing him. I love the way you do your story telling and can't wait for your next what if video. I hope we can get a what if in the future tackling what if metal sonic became good since nobody really tackles that idea.
Hmmmm killing off the black arms doesn’t seem like the best idea when they could be useful in the conflict with the Metarex or against the Nocturnus Clan.
I want sequel to this what if after events of this. :D Its soooooooooooo good! Also I was expecting Sonic to turn into his dark super form from Sonic X but you know what... Super form works just as well. I definitely got some Battle of the Hero vis just from the duel between Sonic vs Shadow from the lava battle like how Anakin Skywalker (Darth vader) vs Obi Wan Kenobi It felt very star warsy. :D Honestly Sega Scourge you blew this Sonic What if lost his memory to the next level!! I kid you not! I was so happy that sonic managed to get his memories back and revert back to his real self. Well done Sega Scourge!! You've done a fantastic job at making this! This was everything I expected and more man, that fight between Super Sonic and Shadow felt like the kid friendly version of Invincible episode 8 The end for everything was satisfying af and it leads into more story possibilities... And as fanfic writer lemme add you to the list of people that inspire me
It would be really cool if the black meteor was like a prison that all the most evil villains was locked up in and shadow just gose from planet to planet beating villains and imprisoning being like a black knight for the universe that comes to save people and leaves just like the night on a new day
I sort of wish this was how sega done things back then, because it truly is great story telling and does things like give shadow some purpose after sa2. It gets him out of sonic games before the "meta-era" that kind of ruined shadows character and it explores a cool concept that has infinite possibilities, you and your partners have taken this and made it a truly great story. 1: The fact that I realised what Shadow would do as a final attempt to restore Sonic's memory at the same time he did is a testament to your excellent writing; that was an awesome use of pre-established information and abilities. Without you needing to say it (though you did moments later), the audience is able to figure out what Shadow can do. You retroactively gave Shadow learning of his origin even more significance than just acting as the catalyst for his acquisition of the Black Arms. I can only say bravo, man. And amazing work.
2: I really like that this ending so naturally lends itself to being the jumping off point for so many other potential Sonic What-Ifs (eg: "What If Shadow Was The Black Arms' Leader?", "What If Dr.Eggman Disappeared?", "What If Shadow Wasn't Present During Sonic 06?", "What If Metal Sonic Acted Independently After Heroes?").

Now this is a well made finale. Shadow is outright scary here. The guy was already powerful enough with his teleportation, time freezing, and energy constructs. Now he has an army, black doom attacks, and telekinetic abilities in the mix. Black Shadow really does give the vibe of an alien ruler, and that last scene where Shadow rockets then teleports straight to Sonic before forcibly unlocking his mind I could perfectly imagine with full CGI and everything. Fitting to Shadow's new role, that was very unnerving and overlord like. Without context Shadow would most certainly come across as the alien overlord and villain. Glad to see that Shadow realizes that a hammer can be used to protect or destroy. Over time he can change their nature and Shadow has all the time in the universe.
There are still the Metarex (should you want to include them and their story), the ancient Babylonians, and the Whisps as well as tones of galactic communal work to keep the noble Black Shadow and the black arms busy for a long time.
On the ground with Eggman gone forever, Metal Sonic would most likely take his former creator's place attempting multiple times to break Eggman out as well as a never ending bid and campaign to outdo Sonic in everything and prove that he is the superior Sonic.
Bro imagine giant intergalactic space battle between Black Shadow and the black arms vs the metarex 😲
This was such an epic finale. The full-circle culmination and callbacks to moments throughout the AU, as well as overall Sonic moments and quotes made this a joy. I'm glad that Eggman got consequences to some degree in the end, as opposed to escaping and being let off for all the chaos he caused. I'm even gladder about the happy, wholesome ending after all the a n g s t. This was truly wonderful and I can safely say that in my opinion this and Episode Shadow were worth the 3 months without an official episode and the 10 months since the last part.
I do wonder what would happen with Metal seeing as he was searching to go back with creator, who is locked away in space. I guess Sonic has a new mainline nemesis now.

Wow, that was a rollercoaster of emotions that almost had me crying. This was an amazing finale, despite that it was a little bit bittersweet with Shadow's final decision at the end. I'm so happy that everything ended well and I'm glad it didn't end how I was worried it would. Amazing job, Sega Scourge and I can't wait for more chapters of the rest of the stories!

I honestly kinda expected Shadow to give up his life in restoring Sonic's memories. Maybe I was looking too much into the self-sacrifice aspect of the original 'what if?' To be honest though your writing exceeded all expectations, your work is incredible and deserves more recognition.

It's been a wild ride, Sega Scourge. This was one of your best work, and I bet what you're gonna cook up next will be even better!
Wow!! I don't have words to describe this finale. The sheer intensity, the twists and turns of the fight between the super hedgehogs, ending in a move I didn't consider at all during the whole video. Two things I thought during your description of the fight between Sonic and Shadow:
- the intensity of the fight divided into multiple parts (kinda like the Final Fantasy final boss fights, like Kefka or Sephiroth)
- the only music I believed it could fit here, because of not only the brutality of the fight, but also the sadness and the desperation of Shadow for Sonic to come back. I believe you can agree that "Brother My Brother", by Blessid Union of Souls, is the perfect pick here.
This finale led to some unfinished thoughts, like what will Metal Sonic do, without Eggman? The games after this scenario, how could they be tackled, like Unleashed and Colors? Will Sonic take a break to find his own path to a new chapter of his life? Shadow's journey through space, how will he managed the regulation of his army and keeping Eggman at bay (probably with the neuro-toxin paralysing gas)? We can only imagine...
Congratulations on your first ever completed Sonic What If Scenario!! This story was very interesting to watch, and we can only hope that the next idea for a scenario, or whenever the next part of your current scenarios could be as good as their were until now, with well-thought writing, clever ideas and surprising voice actors pals alongside you.
HOOO BOY WHAT A FINALE! Not gonna lie I very nearly cried at the ending. I loved the Black Arms inclusion in this story as well as how Shadow was portrayed. As always, can't wait to see what comes next! ^w^

Ya know I did think Sonic's amnesia in the IDW comics was resolved a little too easily. Same with Eggman using Omega's power. Like i get it the metal virus saga had just ended but still
So I’m extremely happy with the outcome. Definitely threw in some curve balls I didn’t see coming, and the ending is definitely good and almost a little tear jerky lol. But, if I may make a suggestion. You could pull a Masoko X here. After his “What if Frieza Turned Good” story ended, he made a spin off series called “Revelation F” which falls frieza and his group through space. I personally would love to see something similar with Shadow. It wouldn’t have to be updated super often, but it could be a side project to give Shadow a little more, as I feel in terms of a happy ending, he kinda got the short end of the stick. It’s only a suggestion, but I think it would be really cool

Okay so this is the second series I watched and, once again, just like with Werehog, you *killed* it with this go around! I honestly could imagine everything in a neat little animation style as you described it because you described the characters actions and emotions so well that, I couldn't help but *see* it! The ending is also so, so sweet, makes it feel like this story has an actual continuation to it and not just a simple "Hey this happened, shit hit the fan, shit got resolved, everything's back to normal" (apologies for the language lol) and, I like it when stories do that sort of thing! Leave the audience speculating on what may happen next!

Imma be honest I like this new sonic cause I think it gives the other characters a chance to shine and while the what it is ending I would have loved to see this go to forces and have infinite involved as well seeing sonic with eggman as the resistance tries their best to fight their old friend I’m sad sonic will most likely be good again but hey great job scourge can’t wait for the future of what if’s and I actually have one what if shadow woke up early like in the days of the classic era? 41:47 - 42:36 The exchange between Sonic and Black Shadow was music to my ears. The latter wants to destroy Eggman in order to decrease or eliminate any chances of the mad scientist returning to wage war on Sonic's world or Earth; the former, while understanding Black Shadow's reasons for wanting to finish the job, expresses his morals and beliefs on life without resorting to bringing up Black Shadow's past actions before his Heel-Face turn.
When I first watched that segment of the clip, I had hoped Sonic wouldn't do what his IDW counterpart did to Shadow. But fortunately, he didn't do anything like that. And he mentioned Maria in a more positive light rather than using her name to mentally and emotionally manipulate Black Shadow into bowing down to his wishes to spare Eggman.
Sonic KNOWS Eggman is the kind of person who will NEVER change unless he WISHES to. But he doesn't believe that Eggman deserves to have his life taken from him, no matter what he has done.
Though I am a bit confused about how Sonic will feel tainted (in terms of morality and sanity) and responsible for allowing Black Shadow to kill Eggman. The blood would be on Black Shadow's hands, not Sonic's.
I guess it's mainly that.. Sonic couldn't stand by and LET Black Shadow slay Eggman. To him, doing nothing still makes him an associate to murder. I s'pose he just didn't want to end all this violence with more violence, haha

what if idea: what if silver beat iblis in the future? he could have found the chaos emeralds or maybe the time stones and used it to beat iblis. this would make mephalis and maybe even eggman nega a bigger threat for him to face without going back in time and we could see a future version of the sonic heroes featuring the decedents of the sonic crew.
He did. Repeatedly. It never stuck because Iblis is fundamentally unkillable. Iblis literally could not be stopped without sealing it, which Blaze might not have even entertained if she hadn't seen how beautiful the world was before Iblis with her own two eyes, and DEFINITELY wouldn't know to do it if Silver hadn't watched the Duke of Soleanna seal Iblis in Elise.
Even then, it wouldn't change Mephiles's plan. He already travels back in time to reunite with Iblis in canon.
Eggman Nega being the sole villain leads to Silver traveling back in time to pursue him, anyways, as shown by the Rivals games. -Eggman Nega also might not even EXIST in the original Iblis timeline, since Eggman could have died with Elise in the Egg Carrier crash, and we don't know when Eggman, uh... reproduces.-

I'm not even gonna lie, this is probably one of favorite fan stories of any fandom of all time because holy smokes this was beautiful. The storytelling, weaving the games events as well as future games like 06 and Shadow was flawless and the characterization was on point. I could totally see this being adapted into a fan animation project similar to Nazo Unleashed. This was one hell of a ride and I'm so happy the story came to a satisfying conclusion.

If Eggman tries to attack Earth like he did originally during the Black Arms invasion it's likely he would still be taken into custody by Black Shadow like happened here, otherwise he'd be free to do as he pleases as in the games

What a tale! What an emotional rollercoaster! I binged this series today, and it has so much potential! Shadow leading the Black Arms to be used for some good is a twist I did not see coming, and I love it! This fight definitely exceeded my expectations and was better than I imagined! This was an amazing series and I'm looking forward for the others to continue as well such as emerald's & jemerald's Origins, Were-hodge, & Gamma's Adventures. Though I would be surprised if black shadow and his Black Arms Army went to war against the Metarex Empire from Sonic X.

I wouldn't be surprised if one day you decide to make videos regarding the aftermath of this what-if, with one spinoff focusing on how different Sonic's later adventures (such as Sonic Battle, the Sonic Rush duology, Unleashed, Generations, and Forces) would be with Metal Sonic taking over as the new main villain, and the other one focused on Shadow's odyssey through the cosmos facing unknown threats with the help of the Black Arms while keeping Eggman in check.

I-i have no words! That ending has to be one of the best endings for a sonic ending. Of course shadow using his blood to make sonic remember was very suprising. The super battle was amazing and the ending bit of it was truly amazing. I look forward to more of these videos!

I dont think I can put everything I have to say in one comment. You blew me the hell out of the water, Scourge. I'm just at a loss for words. This is incredible, never seen anything like it. You may not see this comment, but I want you to know that you are a FAR better storyteller than 90% of the writers on Fanfiction and Wattpad, no offense to them. This is a PERFECT ending, none of the other conflicts even happen. Blaze's world, Silver's future are safe. Dark Gaia is never released, the Wisps are never taken captive, the Zeti never even discovered. The Time Eater never shows up, and thus Classic Sonic's timeline doesn't split, staying just as the past, so no Phantom Ruby. Only things I see still happening here are the storybook games, and no way in hell would Sonic lose those conflicts, especially after going through this. Perfect ending. WOW this was AMAZING great job! The writing was SO good from part 1 all the way to the Black Shadow story (that's after the final one) is SO good the characters are well written and a great story line. I love this what if a lot it shows that even though there rivals they'll put that aside to help save the world no matter what. It also shows that Sonic and Shadow's relationship has grown a little after the ark incident because in a little animated video after they put the ark back into place Shadow started to fall, but Sonic caught him and didn't want to let go Shadow told him to let go and go back to the ark, but Sonic refused and told Shadow that his life matters too. I LOVE Shadow SO much so seeing this warms my heart the fact that Shadow keeps his promise and decided to act/be a double agent for the world and Sonic is just incredible it shows that he is not (edge) and has a heart and cares about people and his friends and would protect them no matter what I LOVE that we get to see a side of Shadow that we sadly don't get to see anymore. After all that sinning and gaining sin points he FINALLY got to be the king of hell. (SnapCube Shadow The Hedgehog fan dub) So sense Shadow's alien blood mixed with Sonic's when the wounds touched dose that mean Sonic is part Black Arms too? This was AMAZING thank you Sega Scourge.
Beautifully told story. It's usually very difficult to write how Shadow would deal with Eggman if he's given the chance as murder would be the most likely decision he'd make to protect humanity, but the way you handled this issue was very kind and respectful. Amazing work as always, Scourge.

Imagine metal becomes like shard evaluating himself and what he can do and how the hero’s showed him kindness despite his past evil it would be a cool after effect of sonic leaving and with shadow gone it would be pretty cool
This went above and beyond everything I had hoped for!!! Your story telling and narration in the character's voices along with the visuals is so thorough and compelling that I binge watched all of this. It went full circle and tied up loose ends and really answered the "what if" of Sonic falling while Shadow survived.
Makes more sense because Sonic has better control of his super form than Shadow does, he's done it more frequently. So if he falls to Earth in his super form, it could slightly cushion the impact, Sonic would still be hurt really badly but would survive.
More plausible than Shadow hurtling through the atmosphere, as we can clearly see at the end of SA2 that he loses his super form while still in space, I always wondered how he survived that impact and re entry into the Earth's atmosphere. But the plot armor is strong for this hedgie.
Imagine Shadow actually rehabilitating the black arms, kinda like My Little Pony and the Changelings.
Also happy that both hedgehogs come to an understanding that Eggman is a genuine threat but everyone deserves second chances but Eggman will never change his ways, so Shadow agrees to supervise him and keep the black arms away from Earth to not cause harm. Out of respect for Sonic and his steadfast compassion, Shadow would feel remorse for killing his creators grandson, internalizing Sonic's moral compass but also forging his own pathway.

😁 Thanks, just watched it! Despite Eggman being in a bleak situation, he's still a master emotional manipulator for his own gains, it's unsettling. Never shows regret or remorse for his wrong doings and just continues to try overtaking the world. Sometimes I wonder what happened in his childhood to make him crave so much attention on such a grandiose scale. He's had multiple chances to kill Sonic but doesn't because he loves the thrill of the cat and mouse game with Sonic and it tests his intellectual genius coming up with ways to fight Sonic.
Here’s a few predictions of what could possibly happen if this timeline continues:
Perhaps Metal Sonic will takes control of whatever remains of the Eggman Empire and begin searching the galaxy for the black combat to save his creator?
Perhaps Eggman breaks out of the with the help of Metal and comes across Planet Wisp long before he should’ve?
Perhaps on Sonic’s world some alternate version of sonic riders takes place and on Earth I have only altered version of 06 would take play.
Just spit bawling ideas of what could potentially happen after this point.
Ah man! I absolutely loved this finale and the series as a hole! Also a funny story, on the same day this finale was uploaded, I looked back at your channel, cause of wanting to rewatch the metal sonic is sonic theory, and saw all these what if’s, and I was so amazed, funny how I found this hole thing the day it ended when the last parts were 7 mouths ago- and I literally put everything aside that day, and binged watched this hole what if, and needless to say, I. FREAKIN. LOVED. IT!
The way how sonic takes the responsibility to stop the ark, and his confusion and anger over trying to find out the truth, him being a part of team dark and vise versa for shadow, as well as his new empire look, the gloves and boots look fantastic! also I can’t help but say how meaningful I think it is with sonic having half white and half black gloves is…like, the white representing the good he thinks he is doing and still has deep down, and the black representing how much more dark and dangerous he’s become since losing his memory, As well as that symbol for sonic to remember these events and maybe even give him strength to go forward and do better, that being the scar on his eyebrow. That was a nice touch.
And of course, I loved the new reason silver came to take sonic out, and the androids being the reason the world ends in his future, how shadow ends up becoming the new leader of the black arms and making peace with Maria’s childhood friend Abraham Tower (which I didn’t know his name till I watched this what if, actually- so…thanks!), and over shadow’s own adventure, is able to bring sonic back, and before that the full circle super fight where they came so close to using a conjoint chaos control once again, and how eggman is taken away by shadow to finally give mobius and earth some peace, despite there still being more threats on both worlds, the main one has been delt with, and the punishment is well deserved to eggman after brainwashing sonic and everything he has done in the past, and what he would have done in the future if he was able to get away…but I still have to feel bad for him, since he’s probably going to suffer and die on that comet- And another thought, with eggman gone, metal is going to have to find a new purpose on mobius since eggman is out of the picture…he’ll probably find something during his time of lying low going forward though, hopefully.
I just….love all of it! A truly deep and amazing story with darker aspects, but retaining the same hope and charisma a usual sonic adventure has..that I see, anyway. Not to mention that bittersweet ending🥺✊🏻

I know I'm super late on this but this finale far exceeded my expectations. I like shadows way of taking care of eggman without killing him. I love the way you do your story telling and can't wait for your next what if video. I hope we can get a what if in the future tackling what if metal sonic became good since nobody really tackles that idea.
Hmmmm killing off the black arms doesn’t seem like the best idea when they could be useful in the conflict with the Metarex or against the Nocturnus Clan.

Super form works just as well. I definitely got some Battle of the Hero vis just from the duel between Sonic vs Shadow from the lava battle like how Anakin Skywalker (Darth vader) vs Obi Wan Kenobi It felt very star warsy. :D

It would be really cool if the black meteor was like a prison that all the most evil villains was locked up in and shadow just gose from planet to planet beating villains and imprisoning being like a black knight for the universe that comes to save people and leaves just like the night on a new day
I think when he visit planets that have life, he helps people and search for a new one
I sort of wish this was how sega done things back then, because it truly is great story telling and does things like give shadow some purpose after sa2. It gets him out of sonic games before the "meta-era" that kind of ruined shadows character and it explores a cool concept that has infinite possibilities, you and your partners have taken this and made it a truly great story.
