Nathan skipped the most ominous part of SCP 1000. The ancient humans made the surviving bigfoots dumb, but now they’re getting smart again. They’re already smart enough to talk to us, they found the SCP foundation, and left the message “We forgive you. let us back in”

So uh... I had a McDonald's animated cartoon VHS as a kid and it featured an episode called The Legend of Grimace Island. The McDonald's characters went on a sea adventure to find Grimace's people. They eventually found the island, and all the Grimace people were different shades of purple and blue.

Fun fact about containing the cake SCP: there is an entire squad of expendable personnel tasked with eating the cakes every day. Most of them eventually get diabetes, but of the things that can happen to you as a D-class, it's one of the less bad ones.
It's also implied that it's just their lunch break because they can take no longer than an hour
If they refuse to eat it, personnel are encouraged to shot dead expendables to intimidate and coerce the others into eating.

@DemonkittenXIII Presumably because if it was damaged and not eaten, it would spawn another cake and also possibly do the same if it was just consumed, leading either to there being a bunch more cakes or people discovering the self-replicating cakes. The Foundation cares as much about making sure people don't find out about the para-natural as they do about making sure the world doesn't end.
So Jacob's scp is basically the personification of having your cake and eating it too.

SCP 871 was used to destroy the scarlet king (the ultimate evil in some canon) in a tale. They basically let it grow exponentially and dropped it on the scarlet king who suffocated in it.

Yeah now I'm wondering do people find it pretentious when I call specific wasps by their scientific names? wasps are so understudied and most people can't tell a paper wasp from a yellow jacket (or hornets from yellow jackets, bald faced hornets are yellow jackets, they're just called hornets because they're big and don't nest underground) so they're not going to be able to tell the difference between polistes dominula and polistes fuscatus if I don't give them the scientific names to google
Alright, speaking of meta entries, my favorite meta entry is 2786. He's a character who jumps between different narrative fictional media - books, movies, games - and inserts himself as the "hero". He stops whatever monster/villain/antagonist of the media, then walks off into a new story. Up until there, pretty standard SCP stuff; here's the meta part.
The Foundation captured him when he broke into one of their facilities and freed all the d-class. But if he only affects fictional media, how could he interact with the Foundation? Because the SCP wiki is all creepy sci-fi stories. He couldn't escape because...well, he's a fictional character that was sent to a fictional containment complex.

I'm kind of surprised Nathan uttered the words 'Digital World' and it didn't immediately prompt a Digimon reference from Karina.
So the scp that Julia got, the more the video is rewinded the more aware the inhabitants become of their situation. It resets everything to the point where the recording originally started. It's an isolated tape and any other recordings of said SCP can not be replicated. It's an existential horror type of situation.

Idk, that description freaked me out. The people in the recording slowly gaining sentience and memory? And it only happens when the recording was played back? Pretty horrific. How quickly would the recording have spiraled out of control if it was left online?
It's not even close to being one of the most horrific ones. I must've read/listened to hundreds of them and they can get insanely dark. They chose relatively tame ones for the episode, which, to be honest, is very understandable

I guess one of the problems is that they weren't pre-selected and cut down to their bare essentials. Part of the charm of SCPs is that they are overly described but that doesn't make for good consumable content and especially not when spoken aloud.

Not because the story is great on that one, there are about 5 different ones, but because someone hypothesized that the foundation wanted to keep the true identity of 001 a secret, and to do so they put the story of SCP 001 in a different number because, "What better way to hide the identity of 001, than to pretend it's a different SCP". Super interesting to me.

I hope they never stop doing scp, there's so many and so many that are just excellent for them (fingers crossed for Julia's SCP-2721)
I say this every time but I would love to see them doing SCPs that were chosen more deliberately. It could be by fans or it could be a colab with someone like The Volgun but there are so many amazing and visually striking SCPs, including many that would be perfect for each individual artist's style, but if you just pick at random then we end up with monkey/cake/TV.
@@smeatar Yeah, it would be a bit of a waste for them to get ones of the ones that's just "dude but a bit weird" or just "object with property" that arent that visually interesting (Though I guess Jacob showed that wont stop them)
