I would say the priority is to put the fire out because a fire could cause structural damage

Well it depends on your situation, if you’re just after take off and in an area full of obstacles (like sulley) you might want to reach a point from where a safe glide is possible before shutting off the engine.
A fire may or may not consume the aircraft in the next 10 minutes, but the obstacles in front are a certain danger if you don’t have sufficient energy so I think that’s what he was trying to say. Assess your situation BEFORE jumping into an ecam, because the ECAM cannot account for everything.

@@emanueldobos8452 It takes significant explosion for that to happen. these engines are designed to keep everything within. it's not going to explode like in the movies. you rather fly with engine on fire going 200 knots (lot of air on the fire) vs shutting it down if you already lost one engine.

Just my 2 cents and remembering that the captain can deviate from anything they want in the interest of safety. The number 1 engine may or may not relight after following ECAM actions. The Engine Fire in engine 2 will not be able to be restarted after ECAM actions are complete so In this case, personally I'd use the engine 2 thrust as long as possible while having the engine 1 fail ecam ran so at least if it relit we'd have a good engine. The engine 2 will burn until it falls away from the Pilon which it's designed to do (hopefully landing away from people). Either way, use that thrust to make it somewhere safe to land hopefully.

Does the ecam directs the pilots to the QRH? Or do they know which ecam action follows with a qrh add on?

The ecam directs to the qrh

Airbus feels so much easier without the French accent!

Joe how do I announce to evacuate the aircraft from one side only? Does one use the terms port/starboard or left right etc

It is not on the dues of pilots to announce which side to evacuate, those are cabin crew duties.

Has it ever happened ever in aviation that one engine fails and the other engine catches fire!! Sim instructors should be more pragmatic
