- Final Paris-Brest-Paris qualifier : 'Benjamin Allen's Summer Day Out" 600km Audax.
Absolutely loved the first 405km of this ride, but don't think I'm looking quite as perky in part 2...
Kyle was on Chester (aka the dog) duty so didn't ride with me for this one (Kyle will be doing his 600km in June, when I have an exam so can't do it, don't worry he's not backing out of PBP!).
(You can see the route on my Strava link below)
Thank you SO MUCH for watching, if you can spare a second to hit subscribe with your pinky that would be awesome.

So lucky to have someone trustworthy to ride with!
2:08 'this fine leather specimen is very comfy so far'
12:56 'this saddle, hard as as blumin rock, im never using it again' 😂🤣
Haha yes my relationship with the saddle quickly faded 😂
I must admit that I am not surprised that you have the energy to ride 600 kilometers. You inspire me to ride more and do more in life.
Ah thank you for such a lovely comment! And for watching along :)
My longest ride till now is 175km. On my age of 68 i have still plenty of time to improve my skills 😉. Amy, you and Rob are amazing.
That’s awesome and haha always time! Thanks so much for watching :)
Fantastic Amy, great ride, incredible distance and hugely inspirational. When it comes to cycling & making TH-cam vids you really are a talent.
Ah thank you so much 🤍
Well done, Amy! Your enthusiasm is inspiring! Looking forward to part 2.
Amy you are a breath of fresh air and your enthusiasm is contagious. Great effort as always. Keep pedalling - keep happy. Regards David😊👍🚴♂️

Ah thank you so much Dan ☺️
Your enthusiasm (and energy) knows no bounds! 🚴♂️💪🏻
Wow a 600 amazing you know no boundaries hats off to Rob for sticking with you.
Amazing riding. I don't think you realise how good you actually are 💪🏽
When I seen your ride on Strava I was amazed but now seeing your video I am floored! I can not believe you still look so fresh when you were done, I would be ready for the dumpster. I hope one day I can get my life in order enough to train regularly and do some long miles.
Ah thank you, I’m not as fresh on the last 200km 😂
OMG Amy - killing it!
Impressive stuff. Beautiful weather & yipppee!
Awesome, long rides can be such an adventure. That one went really well. And not a puncture in sight! Like your snack choices, I will try some of them! Brooks saddles can be very good but they do require a long time to bed in for each person. Can get different sizes too to fit.
Thank you! So grateful for no punctures! Thanks for watching :D
Nice to see Chivalry is alive and kicking... Rob is a star 👍🏻👌🏻👍🏻👌🏻👍🏻Amy, you are a cycling machine 👌🏻
Thank you! Yes so thankful for Rob!
@@amy.cycling.adventures ,and most farmer's are weird 🤪
Hats off to you Amy that's a ride and a half, especially on a non familiar saddle 👍
Such a natural talking to the camera, enjoy your banter and accent 😄 Such a beast on the bike!
Ah thank you! Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Great ride Amy , total respect to you for completing this ride , look forward to the next video , keep em coming , ye ha😂
Thank you! I will do :D
Well done I live in Aberystwyth and cycle to Tregaron it’s such a lovely ride.
"Fond" memories of doing that ride as a PBP qualifier in 2019. Well done for getting around it with such will and enthusiasm
Thank you!! Yes it’s a lovely route!
Your videos are simply the best. Thanks to you, I find myself saying "Yippee!" and "WooHoo" while I'm riding down a trail! Haven't started doing a little dance at rest stops yet, but probably just a matter of time. 💃😊
Ah so happy to hear that!! Haha nothing better than a yipeee! Ohh yes get those dances in 😂
Superb effort, my legs hurt just watching! Rob shaking his head when you say feeling good @13:32 lol
Haha! Thanks for watching :D
Great ride, wish I had half your energy and endurance, looking forward to seeing more of your adventures as a new subscriber 👍
Thank you so much for subscribing:D
That's a sick distance! Well done I'm impressed.
600km 👀 wow unreal effort, just done my 1st 100km and that was mental 👌
Thanks!! And well done on your 100km that’s awesome!!

Great days riding Amy, living in Derbyshire is a good training ground hills around every corner. Go Amy
Great enjoy the ride, keep safe Amy🚴👍
Strong stuff Amy 💪👏
Amazing Amy
Insane ride - chapeau!
what a great landscape 😍 and mega performance.
A m a z i n g. What a ride and still full of energy 💪🏻
For the next vid a Yippeekayeee! What a nice looking ride. Brooks saddles need to be broken in - they feel hard until then.
Epic ride amy quite inspirational hope kyles doing alright with his dodgy knee 👍
Thank you! Yes he’s doing good and got his 600km in two weeks time :D
Amy you make all your rides super easy.
congratulations!
Another epic ride, amazing to see. Thanks to Rob as well!
Well done. I bet you felt safe their with Rob. Riding with you. Your a Legend doing that distance up and down them big Hills
I'm amazed Rob did it not being used to hills much.
Yea so grateful! Thanks so much for watching!
@@amy.cycling.adventures your more than welcome
I swear every time I see one of your videos you have just done a ride 200km longer than the last. I wonder when will it all stop… but you are awesome so keep going!
👍 of course
New viewer, loving the vids!
Hiya! Thanks so much ☺️
Amazing achievement, 600km is insane. Love the positivity.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone so happy about riding 400km in a day. You must be a really happy person or crazy!😂 Good video!
Haha I just love the long distance 🤪
Fantastic effort Amy 👌
Probably not the best idea for Rob to come to Wales, having only 100 metre climbs where he lives 😂 fair play to him, he stuck with it 👍
Best of luck for PBP.
Thank you! Yes he did awesome!
Well done Amy great ride the tailfin rack might be a great option for a rear bag.
Woop woop !
Puddled in a good way lol …well done to you and Rob and the farmer needs a slap. ATB Coops 👍🏻👍🏻🚴🚴
Great ride Amy, no idea how you looks so fresh and Smiley after 400k!! Sorry you had to put up with Mr Pervy in his tractor!! I’ve no idea what goes on some people’s heads!
Thanks so much!!
Yea I know, not ideal but ah well at least Rob was there 🙌
You are just ace xx fab video 🚴♂️🚴♂️👍
Massive effort don’t know how you do it 👍
You made that look easy 💪💪
As a fat bloke who can barely cycle I have no idea how you do this amount of miles. You looked very unsettled by the bloke in the tractor - it's such a shame what women have to put up with at times. Take care Amy.
Epic effort , did a ride across Wales coupke of weeks ago the climb from the beans on toast cafe was killer 👌
Ah awesome!!
you can get small brackets from Condor cycles to fix on your saddle rails as eyelets for a Carradice saddle bag
“Go for it I say”😂 you make me lol
😂😂
You're a Supergirl, you did it. Congrats! 🎉👏
13:34 "195 milonies down, still feeling good..." Rob is shaking his head in the background, LOL, I'm feeling you Rob!
Haha Rob knows how Kyle feels now 😂😂
I was helping Mark out at the Wigmore control and I think you were the first female to arrive and were in the first ten riders. Very impressive and then I see you were taking it easy making videos! You are making tough audaxes look easy. Did you do any endurance sports before taking up cycling?
Ah thanks so much for helping out the event on, loved it! Thanks for watching too :D
I used to run regularly and did two half marathons before starting cycling but nothing massive, just fell in love with cycling as soon as I started so go out on the bike all the time which helped me to build it up I think :)
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Fantastic. New subscriber amy. I live in the south of France, you should definitely get over here to the Pyrénées and do some of the famous Cols- Tourmalet, Aspin, Luz Ardiden etc. It's just beautiful, you would love it. Regards
Hiya! Thanks for subscribing. Ahh I’d love to ride there it’s on the list 🤩
Saddles are such a personal thing, when I found the San Marco Rolls 30 years ago, I knew I had found the one. I have found others along the way but not quite up to the compatibility of my first love. I would never go off with a stranger on such a long ride, saddles are so full of risk.
U can attach a saddle bag of the Carradice type to any saddle using toe straps or similiar. I use the Carradice camper long flap, in this way. Its a bit difficult to explain but simple in that the straps supplied are used to loop another strap thro and then fed thro the rails of the saddle and tightened down. I also use a rack to support the bag and a bungee to hold the bag, so it will not sway or move as I ride out of the saddle on climbs. Sounds a bit complex but its quite simple. Carradice bags are awesome, my camper Lflap is 37 years old, still going. You dont need a saddle with built in lugs for the straps, any saddle will do.
Well done Amy, impressive riding as always. Are you planning to report the farmer? I would.
Great effort Amy. Mad how you just use random saddles without trying them before 😂😂
Yes I need to learn my lesson 😂
When you mentioned Tregaron , i thought oh no they are gonna send you on to the infamous Mountain Road to Builth . Looks like the organiser had a heart after all and spared you :).
Awesome stuff Amy well done to you and Rob, should maybe try a tailfin bag and carrier, see a lot of audax people using them. Expensive though. Keep safe. 👍
It just makes your bike unnecessary heavy
Thank you!!
YUUHHHUU....Hello sheepies... 🥰🥰🥰
Wish i had routes like this. That is quite the mileage.
I can’t believe it took me 40 yrs till I tried a brooks saddle ! I wish I had done it earlier
I’m not as much of a fan of it in part 2 of the video 😂
I like you Are Always smily and enjoy ride
New saddle, new bibs on a 600km ride? You like to live dangerously, Amy. 😉 Seriously though, it looked like a beautiful spring day.
Haha I love life on the edge 😂 yes loved it!
Living in Cymru I find myself talking to the sheepies and horsies now!
It’s the best way! 🙌
Hi Amy, Well done! those B17 Brookes saddles need to be worn in with a lot of miles...and i mean a lot of miles, once it softens up and adjusts to your shape, it will be like riding on a Sofa..Enjoy
I recognise some of those controls from Brevet Cymru, another beautiful 400k Audax.
Oh yes I’ve heard of that one, on the list to do next year!
What gimble do you use for the camera? Looks vac great ride though 😊
Carradice do one that clips to the seatpost and you press a big red button to remove the bag ... Very well made although I think you need the wider seatpost to use 31.6mm
Yipeeeeeeee how many sheep will we spot today
Nice ride Amy but that bloody farmer, what was he going on about?
I don’t know!!
Thanks for watching :D
I don't know how you can get back on a bicycle after eating that quantity of beans and toast. Looks delicious though! Amazing ride!
Blazing saddles!
Your making it look to easy now,i think you need a bigger challenge 😜
Always looking for the next challenge haha!
Amazing you are so cute and love your energy recently discovered you channel and love your content and positivity
Keep posting content but more importantly keep riding your bike and inspiring others
there are other options besides saddlebags; look into racks that many companies are making that allow you to put a rando type bag on the back. I can send you a saddlebag if you want one; I have an extra one here. Best to you and all the best to you sweet soul.
Thank you for such a lovely comment!
Poor Rob and his battered cod loins😭
Don’t worry me and Rob still speak and he did the 24hr TT 🙌🙌
That farmer… he prob thought o shit it’s Amy cycling, she’s going to nick my sheep
Rather different thoughts to that me thinks 🤮 😡
Seasoned audaxers swear by big heavy steel bikes, mudguards and Brooks saddles. I am not a seasoned audaxer 😊
Every time she says "yippee", take a swig.
Get "I'm just waiting for Rob" on a Tshirt
That creepy farmer... creepy. Are there many reports of missing persons nearby? I'd steer clear.
U sure u are not bionic..you cover miles like a machine😂
These videos are great, you obviously love cycling!
I did a quick internet search but it wasn’t that helpful, so I am guessing that a ‘maloney’, or whatever it is, may be a bit like a malarkey or something like that.
Not happy about the ‘inappropriate’ farmer harassment. Not ok at all. Haven’t finished the video but I hope that never happens again. Grrr.
"miloneys" - its just her joke way of saying "miles".
Thanks so much for watching! Milonys is what I say for miles when I’m being silly 😂 yes I wasn’t happy about it but at least Rob was there!
Thanks!
Oh! Well done! You finished the ride!
I just saw the other video.
Ok. So a maloney is just about one and a half kilometres. 😂
I don’t know much about cycling, but I enjoyed your video. Very long cycle ride! You kind of manage to tell a story in your videos. Congratulations on qualifying, although I am not entirely sure what you have qualified for. But that’s just my ignorance.
Cycling that far should, in my opinion, qualify you for almost anything.
You stay safe Amy!!!!
is that newtown. between Aberystwyth and Welshpool
Poor Rob 😅😅
