Phil, as a Kiwi with a a Finnish partner, you nailed the tourism intel. Can confirm excellent gravel roads, still rideable through a long season and also on snow if you’re able to fit spiked tyres with clearance. Summer cabins in summer, Sauna & Alcohol in winter. Wildlife you will find early AM in spring.

Having not been to Finland, but having spent a month total (in 1992) training and racing on the track in Blaine, Minnesota, I can attest to that feeling that people there are already thinking about the upcoming winter even though it's June.

Untrue. We Finns are the happiest lot in the world because we are the second most uniform people after Papua and so we are not so much out to get "the others" as the ununified Americans. The photo at 12:29 can´t have been taken at 02:00 in the night. Even though it doesn´t get dark during the middle of the summer, the sun won´t particularly be seen. Especially that high in the sky.
I used to work for a Finnish company (Suunto) The fingineers always told us that there was no Finnish word for 'please'. They also were slightly dour people, maybe because Garmin was kicking their ass.
That is true. Techically you can use word 'kiitos', but it isn't used in the sentences the same way as 'please'. That's why Finnish people tend to forget to use the word please in their English, there is no 'please' in Finnish translation of the sentence.
There have been some moose sightings in the capital area, but they are rare. Lots of deer live inside city forests though. The wildlife signs you saw by the roads are for moose and deer. Reindeers only live up north, but if you go up there you will see reindeer just by driving around. There're no puffins in Finland unfortunately.

I hate sandstorms too. From the song to the actual weather phenomenon. The "security" is great but not actually free. Every finn pays an incredible amount of taxes to support it. Our cars and driving are taxed pretty much to oblivion at this point. I also want to address the obvious coffee issue in your video: I´m very sorry (not really) but we drink it more AND BETTER. The difference is like summer and winter. You´re the winter in this case. Thank´s for the video. Thumbs up 👍
Finns actually commonly suffer from a *lack* of vitamin D, because during winter we get so little sunlight. The government even recommends using vitamin D supplements due to this.
"Oho" (Oops) is almost as good as "sorry" in Finland, so you shouldn't be too offended, if people say that instead of the formal "Anteeksi". You don't have to stay indoors during the winter, if you don't want to. There are winter activities and winter sports too. If you're an active outdoor person, you probably won't stay indoors. And if you want to get off the roads, there are trails everywhere-kept and otherwise-as people do roam them forests for various reasons. Here's an example of how one trail looks like: "LEIVONMÄKI MTB - Midsummer Ride in the National Park in Finland". Cycling also during winter is fairly common. Oulu has been named as the capital of winter cycling and there are kept cycling routes also: "Why Canadians Can't Bike in the Winter (but Finnish people can)", "Winter Fatbiking in Saariselkä, Finland" and "Winter Fatbikepacking in Syöte National Park, Finland". If Finland's eastern border feels doobious for some reason, cycling on west coast is an option and enjoying the scenery there: "Bikepacking Across Finland Documentary (Arctic Circle, Gulf of Bothnia and Åland Islands)" and "Bikepacking Across Åland Islands Documentary (Finland, Sweden, Norway)". Here's a trip on the eastern border on a motorcycle: "Exploring FINLAND On Motorcycle - From Helsinki to Hetta using only small roads". Relating those off-road trails and mountain biking, here's a documentary about the history of downhill, which deals with the seasons, conditions, Finnish cycling in general, competitiveness and also about that happiness and there's a cow too: "The Finnish Downhill MTB documentary (Full Film)". And relating history from speed skiing, snowmobiling and enduro: "Kalevi Häkä Häkkinen was a founding father of Speed Ski", "The Heroes of Lynx - 30 Years of Race Domination" and "EnduroGP To the greatest of all times". Since Bottas was there too: "Why These 4 Countries Produce the Most F1 Champs". And since gravel and thousand lakes were mentioned: "WRC History: Top 5 spectacular moments Neste Rally Finland". The alcohol thing derives from the prohibition era and the state monopoly on stronger alcohol sale. I would imagine the alcohol consumption is higher during the summer-although there is this term: "Simpsons - Kalsarikännit".
