Yes, more or less. The process is called "bleeding" or "healing" a kyber crystal.
@@hoos3014 yeah that's y the force users for hire in Ashoka show, light sabers were orange and not red. They weren't sith and not Jedi
@@andrewyb830 to me its a Disney canon retcon that hurts the franchise. Yaddle, one of the jedi that existed during the clone wars, was known to own and use an orange lightsaber. And the color orange indicated a force user who was willing to die than use their lightsaber, a true monk of the Jedi order. I think that orange should be a light side trait and only red should get used from sith characters as that makes sense in the lore of the dark side
