The shots at the beginning on positive film with the highlight weighted metering are fantastic. The colours really remind me of vintage street photography.
Thank you, I think the GR iii, much like the Fuji cameras really shines in those kind of high contrast situations. The colours just pop and the transition between the light and shadow is rendered so nicely. For me the only cameras that improve on these are leica which are just way outside my budget
Hey, hi. Just a quick commentary to observe (1) I feel like I've watched every GR III video on TH-cam (like, seriously 😅) (2) I really enjoy both your commentary / observations and way you present your images with information, thank you. It's incredibly helpful. (3) Having watched both your night shoot, and then (back to front, but hey ho) this daytime shoot, I think you've a great eye and instinct. As my primary interest is the GR III and not other systems or even locations I can't comment on your talents your other videos portray, but please don't stop. I'll have eyes wide open for any more GR III episodes 🙏 Best, always.
thank you for taking the time to check out the video and leave a kind comment, i really appreciate hearing these things. I will certainly be doing more GRIII videos as I am still getting to grips with the camera and making these videos is a good way for me to drive myself to go out and try new things and experiment with my camera equipment.
Nice one thanks. It’s a top little camera but quite noisy above around 3200 iso. I am loving it though, super convenient and nice to use, I cant wait to really get it figured out.
Hi Jonny, love the pics on the GR iii. That bad boy can certainly handle the high iso and they look amazing on my 27 inch iMac. You went to Shinjuku and I am hoping you will go back one day and shoot in the style of Daido Moriyama, That I would love to see mate.
Thanks Craig. Yes it certainly is that, I don’t know how long I will end up living here so really want to make the most of my time here and get out shooting as much as possible. It really is the best way to explore a city like this
Is it default colour positiv film effect from ricoh gr iii? I see little bit different from my gr ii ..but i prefer ricoh gr iii.btw your photos so awesome.
Yes I think it was the default settings, at least I’m sure I didn’t change anything, the only thing I did was set the metering mode to protect the highlights. This is why in the first images the shadows are really prominent and the images are quite high contrast
Haha, I'm always doing things like that - leaving the SD card at home etc. Hey, some great images there - I like your style. Subbed to come back and check out more of your videos in the future...
Awesome video mate🔥 Do you have any recommendations on third party batteries or chargers for the Ricoh Gr III?? I've heard some people like wasabi, but I'm not to sure. Just looking for a cheaper alternative. Cheers
Hi thanks for checking the video, I dont have any 3rd party batteries for the GR, I do have a couple of Neewer ones for my Fuji cameras but they are not that great really. I have heard good things about the wasabi batteries but never tried them as I couldn't get them in Japan
Nice man. I was thinking about picking up a GRiii for EDC. I have the X100V but it’s a bit big to take everywhere. Color output seems decent enough but it seems like most people use it primarily for BW. What did you think of the colors?
So far I like the colours straight out of the camera, i feel like coming from fuji i have been spoiled by their excellent colour science yet I also feel that Ricoh cameras have a similar look to them. Very leica like (although not quite there)
amazing photos! thanks for putting your settings too!
Very nice dude. The photograph at 8:00 is my favourite, woman up close and then just layers of people. 👌
Thanks Joseph, I think that was my favorite from the day as well

Nice video and channel man. I really like the shot you got at 2:07
3:34 - What a shot!

Hard monotone is better than high contrast! :)
Subscriber No.490... 🙂👍
I really enjoyed your confident style which makes the video and images such a pleasure to view. Nice one.
Hey Steve thank you for the sub, it’s much appreciated, also glad to hear you enjoyed watching the video
Looks like Market street that. Good pics as usual, even with a toy cam. Big up Jonny. Oh and that first tune is an absolute banger!

Really nice shot at 3:35

I just shot a video out in Shinjuku over the weekend, however, it was with a much longer lens, I will be posting it up this week.
Nice work mate, can't wait to be able to travel back to Tokyo again, photography heaven!

I like the music in the background! Where do you get them? Nice photos BTW
on this video I got the music from epidemic sounds, previous videos were tracks by my friend a producer known as Kuartz
@@Visions_in_Toyko oh OK, thanks 👍
I'll bet you walked past 20 shops where you could buy an SD card. Oh, and you're not "my boy."
I probably did yes, and if I was using one of my other cameras would have had to buy a memory cards. But thankfully I didn’t have to
