- Just a quick chat and what I learned, I also look at how the bike performed on Leeds Liverpool canal trip, before giving it a good wash and re-lube ready for the next adventure.

Nice recap mate, as you know I’m always banging on about redundancy in the setup, for real world use you need an easy accessible place to shove layers and food or it quickly becomes a pain to use, that’s what that burgen side pouch on the side of my rear rack is for, our bikes did a sterling job in the conditions, always good to test everything out, as you know I did a weeks mud testing before the trip, then broke front mudguard getting off the train and you attacked my rear mudguard 1st pub stop😁, doesn’t always go as planned!😂, looking forward to our next trip⛺️🚲👍🏻
Too true mate , a bag for said items will added for the next trip that’s for sure. But all in all the bikes did well in those conditions. I’m a clumsy oaf at times 🦶🦶
Words of wisdom from an experienced person- this helps a lot- thank you my brother! 🚴🏼♂️🌿🧘🏼🙏
Thanks atb Dave
Modern bike components are really durable but I am amazed you didn't get a single puncture. They must be pretty good tyres
We might have but we both ride with sealant in our tubes , and both of us had zero puctures 👍 tfw atb Dave 🚲👍
👍🏻👍🏻🚴🚴
Thanks for watching ⛺️🚲👍
looks like them gravel kings coped well with the boggy bits dave👍 is it a jet wash job or good old bucket & brushes?
Thanks Geordie , they held there own that’s for sure, I’m old school mate, bucket and brushes , towel down and relube 🚲👍
Sorry Dave, I must keep up..keep forgetting this site is separate to the wild camping one. like the idea of no side Panniers and replacing with a Pack...."you know it makes sense"..😉
I know haven’t posted on the other Chanel since late Feb 😂 it does and much better for train travel too 👍
I'm glad the ride went well, if a bit on the muddy side, the lessons you have learned will help on future rides. I can't decide if the bike looks best all muddy or cleaned and dried at the end, its a grand set up anyway. I hope your mate enjoyed the whole experience. Have you ever thought of doing the southern upland route, some have put up bike packing videos but its mainly hikers. ATB Big Dave
I would love to do it , but that old thing of time 😂 I’ve hiked a few sections of it as it’s a lovely area. planning on doing a a few section rides and camps soon as I can . park up at Moffat and explore the hills on my mountain bike setup also for bike camping . atb Dave 🚲⛺️👍
Good reflections on the trip Dave - I watched the main vid for the 2nd time last night and still haven't had time to pop a comment on, I'll do that now. My biggest gripe with my set-up was a lack of ease of access to my gear, hopefully getting that sorted with a few changes of bags thanks to FB Marketplace lol.
thanks Donna , it’s take an age to fine tune similar to wildcamping setup which you have mastered . my main bag stays untouched taken off at night then back on the morning, I still was short of a stash type bag which will be added before the next trip. atb Dave
Before i watch this are you uploading the rest of the ride?
Yes but it doesn’t give much away . part 2 up Friday 5pm, part 3 next Friday atb Dave
@@davesolobiker5601 Excellent. Looking forward to it as may do it myself in the next few weeks.
I would give it a good few weeks to dry out 😂
Do you have full gear list and how you packed
Not for this setup , but I do have for when I use the panniers on . Same gear inside tho th-cam.com/video/BRmfWxUcyBY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sPbAemBhmNKMt0AG
I might do a video for this setup tho soon atb Dave
@@davesolobiker5601 look forward to seeing your setup always good to see other setups .. not into panniers tradation tour setups at all
No worries , I will possibly get one done in a week or so for this latest setup 👍
