13:24 but then again remember cost of living. US cost of living is at least two/three times higher than in SA, hence the salary appears to be that much higher, but really it’s roughly the same, if not a little more.

In South Africa if the University or undergraduate degree is not SAICA accredited you can still do a bridging course whatever the degree you did does not matter then that's when you qualify to proceed to CTA

Studying this CPA sounds more like studying CIMA in SA
They are worlds apart. South Africa as a former British colony apes British education systems. CA(SA) is a localised version of the British one. CPA in India or Australia is somewhat different but CPA USA is not an accounting institute as such but a state issued licence to practice public accounting in a specific state in America. British Accounting qualifications like CIMA, ACCA, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) which is the original body from which other country specific bodies like SAICA, ICAEW, CAANZ spurn off from are all actual professional accounting bodies which issue certification and therefore reciprocal agreements.

Your lecturer is the one who's supposed to tell you the process cos they understand your curriculum. Also if they're lying to you you'll only notice by speaking to them. So....
