Mr. Satan hiding within Buu is low-key one of the most brilliant things in Dragonball history.

One of the most brilliant things in Dragon Ball history is how the Dragon Balls became corrupted from being used one too many times. That was the most and only interesting thing they ever did in GT and is arguably the most creative thing they ever did on the show, easily followed up by the ending.
It's a shame it was wasted on one of the worst anime series ever made, though, but still.
Another incredible idea was the Androids/Cyborgs 16, 17, and 18 completely subverting expectations as villains by never harming people in the prime timeline. They SAID they would kill Goku, and they beat up the cast, but they never killed anyone, even though in Future Trunks's timeline, they destroyed a lot of the world so hard it turned it into The Terminator.
Or how about Vegeta allowing Babidi to corrupt him willingly for the massive power boost, but actually retained his conscious mind, doing easily the smartest mindgame in the whole franchise, making you think he's finally gone evil again just to defeat Goku, while also counting on beating Babidi too and possibly rule the galaxy, only to realize it's too late to be evil again because he has a loving family and friends, because he's a far better person now, because he's so far above that sort of thing. His good conscience wins out and he completes THE most deep and best storytelling Dragon Ball could possibly ever conjure and nothing has come close to Vegeta's whole arc to date.
And you think Buu eating Mr. Satan without absorbing him is "one of the most brilliant things in Dragonball history"?

One thing I always found interesting about Baby's powerset is that he's basically a Reverse-Buu.
They're both amorphous entities that can use other people's powers, but Buu was created/summoned by magic and Baby is a science experiment. Buu absorbs people into his body, taking on their physical characteristics. Meanwhile Baby enters into other people's bodies and overwrites _their_ characteristics with his own.
Such a cool concept

It honestly should be the most powerful transformation, with the downside being that if you don't win within 5 mins you are screwed.
My headcanon is that SS3 drains so fast because nobody has taken the time master it like Goku and Gohan did with SS1.

Personally, I think Baby bragging about his (stolen) saiyan power is meant to play into the idea that Baby is becoming He Who Fights Monsters; so consumed by his vendetta against the saiyans that he ultimately becomes the very thing he's trying to get revenge for: an alien monster terrorizing another world for kicks.

Here’s a fun fact!
You never hear a fusion character say “I’m running out of energy!” It’s always about time, meaning that fusion’s supposedly have infinite energy at the cost of a varying time limit. This explains why Gotenks can go SSJ3, because a time limit that simply defuses the two is far less demanding than working with limited energy reserves.
It might also just be that the reserves are so unbelievably immense that it's never really going to be an issue, plus as far as I remember the only time a fusion fought an opponent that it didn't completely shitstomp, it was SS1 Gotenks against Super Buu. Every other fusion has always been massively more powerful than the opponent it fought.

Interesting thing in the GT film a Hero’s legacy old Pan shows Goku Jr a picture of her holding the black star dragon ball at Grandpa Gohan house. Which I’m assuming the group stopped their first offscreen before going to Dendes.
A Hero’s legacy was actually written and made before the end of GT, so it wasn’t able to predict or follow up on the ending .
I love Baby’s final form, the black suit with the golden shoulder pads, the silver hair, it just hits for me. I get why people don’t like it but I liked it

Hot take I actually like Baby Vegeta’s forms, they’re not ground breaking but it’s unique in some aspects. I like how the longer Baby is controlling Vegeta’s body, the less Vegeta looks like himself, showing the Tuffle side is overpowering the Saiyan side of him. Just wish each form was given more time to show off

Super Baby 2 is pretty much just Adult Baby, only with a black bodysuit (compared to Baby's blue one) and Vegeta's head made to look like Baby's. Their facial structure is pretty much identical at that point.

25:55 - Guess you could say Pan's reaction to Goku's death was rather...deadpan~...but I feel like Baby's final design was meant to be a twisted version of the Saiyan armor Vegeta first wore. Pitch black instead of blue and the shoulder pads angled upwards instead of slanted to the sides.
I like to imagine Baby doesn't try to infect Mr Popo because he could tell Vegeta was deathly afraid of him and took the hint.

@@ssj4jason737 I'm pretty sure that's because they were cards given away with the movie itself, not cards they were actively selling at the time. By the time that movie might have been playing on live tv ( which I don't think ever actually happened ) those cards were still not released as public/legal cards to play and one of the cards related to the movie that was given out with ticket purchases was literally impossible to play because one of the requirements to summon it was Blue Eyes ultimate dragon, a card that didn't get released for 2 more years after those cards were given.
But ya, that's why they could probably get away with it because it was both a Movie that adults would have to purchase a ticket to go see, and not a tv show.

Baby is such a neat concept for an antagonist, as he’s more like a virus than some galaxy conquering emperor or predatory cyborg! This whole arc had me so anxious when I saw this as a kid!
I always thought that with Super Baby 2 changing clothes is just his parasites changing the colour of vagetas skin. Now that im older though. Yeaaaaaa i got no clue lmao
SSJ4 Vegeta would be bare chested but would regrow his tank top when he powers down back to base form. The animators just hoped you wouldn't question it.
I think of it as his actual skin layering on top of Vegita's skin.

6:24 He was Heihachi Mishima from Tekken 3 to Tekken 6. He ha this great for voice for big buff muscle dudes, which is why he worked so well for Fist of the North Star as well.
18:56 Yeah, I just figured the only way to bypass massive mana drain of SSJ3 is to have a dead body that doesn't tire or be a fusion of two. That's a way to use the form without it overstaying its welcome. I always appreciated it being the nuclear option, so you knew stuff was serious. And then Super happened and, of course, it had to bring in new forms and they just got no drawbacks like this (maybe they a line here or there, but it has no consequence on anything), so Vegeta didn't even bother ever achieving SSJ3.
Yeah, and funnily enough, after Daisuke Gōri sadly passed away, Unshō Ishizuka took over for both Heihachi and Mr Satan's roles, until *he* passed away too.

@kusakabe3264 Yeah it's still completely irrelevant in this story too. I guess it's probably not fun to animate and I think it was never a very popular transformation. Ssj3 is only useful in the movies.
I've seen Yabai become "Oh damn!" "Oh crap!" and "Oh shit!" but "Yikes!" is definitely my favourite.
I think the skin suit is like actual Baby’s clothes so when he strengthens his control over Vegeta, Vegeta becomes more like Baby in that regard too, because when they separate he’s still dressed like that

I feel like it would have made WAY more sense for Baby and the other infected characters to try and infect Goku instead of just ganging up on him
I mean, so far, Baby's proven he's not stupid. Even with Vegeta's body he would know better than to take his chances
This is also where Buu would come in. Buu would sense Goku, Trunks and Pan are back and *immediately* bolt to Goku's home with Mr.Satan, ruining the trap. This would also reveal that Buu has essentially spent all this time being the last line of defense for all of Earth. Albeit unsuccesfully due to how quickly Baby can infect people
This would not only make Buu more relevant, but it would add some poetic irony. The monster that spent days terrorising Earth is now actively trying to protect it and he repaid Goku and Vegeta for letting him live by preventing Goku from being assimilated. Indirectly saving the day.
That's pretty much what he did for Pan, and she would prove pivotal later in their next fight
I think baby vegeta says at one point to goku that unlike his friends and family that goku's fate was death. That everyone but goku would be assimilated.
well baby wants to kill at least ONE saiyan and he chose that fate for goku. Likely because he recognises goku as the apex of the saiyans despite goku not being as murderous as other saiyans.
I remember hating Baby as a villian and actually had a fanfiction in my head of Frieza beating the shit out of him like he did Vegeta on Namek

I always imagined the black clothing he gets is him covering himself in the same energy as the spirit bomb. I like the idea because it just shows how deep babys hate is and how his hate will end up turning him into the very thing he was meant to destroy. A world conquering monster.
I swear that Z did something similar with spoilers in the opening. I swear as a kid near the end of the Frieza saga they updated the lineup at the end of the intro to have SS Goku but Future Trunks is also present and its like who the hell is that.
As Kaiser said in a previous episode, that is how Japanese people approach spoilers.
The english dub just straight up used the post-Namek version of the credits. Had Goku going Super, Vegeta was in the group, showed super Trunks, it was a ridiculous spoiler... especially considering that version of the show didn't even make it to Super Saiyan and stopped in the middle of the Ginyu force. Even though the Japanese credits had a non-spoiler version of that group lineup for the first hundred episodes.
They also mixed in a ton of footage from the movies and Nappa blowing up planes to be more action-ey I guess.
In the italian intro we literally get spoiled the entire first half of the sayan saga in the lyrics, with also seeing goku going super sayan at the end. Shit was wacky
I do think the gold armor could have really worked thematically if rather then a transformation this was a uniform Baby and soldiers wore. Basically him doing his own version of saiyan armor to further mock them.
Wasn't there a joke that Baby needed 1 more saiyan to become a SSG baby thing? 🤣

22:29 Actually I've never asked people how they felt about baby vegeta's final form everyone recognizes. If anything I can tell he looks more like a different character than just being GT Vegeta OC do not steal, but I think that final form it helps him stand out like the less vegeta more baby elements in there. I want to know what the comments would of rather had or do you they like what baby vegeta ended up looking like
Super baby 2 is an ok looking form I can respect it's design. But I love his previous forms more especially Super baby 1 because that form I is a nice mix between vegeta and baby together. It's just a shame he didn't last long in that form.
I don;t dislike it at all. I jsut wish we got to see baby himself more, though seeing him possessing vegeta for most of the arc is kind of the point since he lacks power himself and jsut steals from others. He's the ultimate parasite.
But yeah this helps him stand out as his own entity apart from vegeta and helps show how twisted he is in twisting vegeta's form to suit himself more. It really underlies what a self-centered monster he is.
I liked his final form the most. The outfit he wears looks like his origional outfit is shining through the more Tuffleized Vegeta becomes. It makes you feel like Baby is truly taking over Vegeta and getting comfortable finally.

Maybe it has something to do with the cards, since Bakugan's card art is different as well.
25:15 here is how I take it, you can see stuff starting to come out of Vegeta's body. I see the clothing at parts of Baby's body seeping through his body and skin as he takes more and more control. I don't even see this as a full form but rather an in between state between the first and final form

I love that Super Saiyan 4 is a literal ass pull. As in pulled a tail out of his ass with giant pliers to make it work
Best design easily for Baby Vegeta is the white haired, tank top style look, it's clear that GT was trying to recreate a lot of the Majin Vegeta aesthetic with the dark eyes and everything, but they should of fully committed to the look and of had that be the final excluding golden great ape for Vegeta.
For the Baby transformations, my only explanation is that his transformations basically him assimilating Vegeta more and more.
His form starts to look like him when he's outside of people, Vegeta's clothes start to match his own, the hair starts to look like that head tentacle Baby has and his eyes look fully cybernetic instead of just having lines across them.
The more he powers up, the more his own qualities take over Vegeta to the point that he is literally just a meat suit for him to wear as a base.
Kinda reminds me of putting on Power Armor in Fallout, there's a base below it but it does nothing except hold the stuff that's actually useful.
(Also yes, Goku Black is just Baby Vegeta, that's always been clear as day to fans who like all fhe Dragon Ball media)

3:48 You could probably count on one hand the number of times Goku has restrained himself from eating when he's hungry, and Chi Chi is probably the source on every count lol
I think their hate for second form Vegeta-Baby is from how it wormed its way into fighting games like Budokai Tenkaichi. The show runners probably saw it as a transition to the final form, but having it be it's own thing in the games made first-time fans think there was more to it. Then they watch the show and see it only throw one punch lol.
As for the final form's clothes, you could say Baby got enough energy to make his real body act as an exoskeleton and cover Vegeta. But is Baby's final form really disliked in the community? It's sleek and the golden shoulder vest makes it stand out. But I'll agree the earlier form he had while attacking Earth was cooler.

I wouldnt say I disliked it but I never really liked final form baby Vegeta, he always looked to busy for my tastes

My headcanon is that ssj3 actually burns lifeforce and that it’s not a true transformation. Goku is just forcibly overclocking his body’s processes, which results in the hair growth. Goku was probably trying to develop a way to use Trunks’s grade 3 form without the drawbacks and accidentally ended up with something he was only able to use effectively while dead because he had essentially unlimited vitality. After 7 years dead he had unknowingly become complacent and so was surprised when the form failed against Kid Buu. The form was never as useful again as it was vs Fat Buu once he was alive again, and that would explain why he uses it so infrequently afterwards.

I think the appearance of a commercial wherein the characters use drops to relieve red-eye within the episode where they get red eyes is some peak marketing.
Imagine how awesome this arc could have been if the audience didn't know Baby had survived and escaped.
Goku and pals get back to Earth and everyone's acting off. Not overtly "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", but still weird. They split off for their own reasons. Pan gets attacked by a crowd including Videl, and has to be bailed out by Buu because she doesn't want to kill anyone. Trunks gets attacked by Vegeta and then turned. Everyone converges on Goku as in canon, and here we get the reveal that Baby has taken over *everyone* .
That would be the scariest thing they ever do in Dragon Ball.

What Kaiser is talking about is product placement in children’s shows. Essentially there are bills in the US and Canada that prohibits the commercial advertising of products that might be showcased within what is considered a children’s TV program.
I know they do in Québec, but is it like that in the rest of Canada as well?

Don’t forget that the old lore of fusion dance was “unlimited” energy for about 30 minutes. That helped gotenks sustain ssj3 longer than Goku.
