In this weeks video we take the short journey across to our local auction house, Letchworth Motor Auctions (LMA). They host a classic sale every 2/3 months and there was a Citroen Saxo that caught my attention online, which meant we had to check it out! Although the Saxo was in a slightly worse condition than expected, me and Lauren still enjoyed having a browse around some of the other classic cars and recording the auction for you guys to see. A personal favourite of mine was the Mk1 Transit camper van, which was incredibly clean and just one of 4 left on the UK roads!
Overall this was a great morning out, looking around some classic cars. LMA’s next classic auction is on the 30th September for anyone who’d like to attend.

Loved the MK.3. Ford Cortina, which looks to have been restored very well, almost like it rolled of the production line, but for a couple of small details missed, But it has to be one of the few, that are the best ones out there in the UK, and is truly beautiful car.❤

@TonyWelch75: I agree, I spotted one of the tell tale flaws all Restored cars suffer from, as opposed to Factory Original, Production line finish cars that don't, But even with these tiny mistakes, this one has to be among the few very best ones out there in the UK, she looks Beautiful, and given it is extremely rare for a car to stay with it's original owner from new, (I have owned my Mk.3 for over 47 years, bought as new back in 1976) and most have had several owners that don't know the cars as they were new, tiny flaws, are bound to happen if no one checks with an expert on them when restoring.

Not sure what is going on, but the sound is very odd in your last 2 uploads, I get the intro music but then nothing when you are talking, are you only recording on left or right channel as I only have a mono speaker?
Hi! Apologises I have some new microphones which I’m just getting to grips with. The audio was only working on the left side in the video but I have since fixed this and will be back to normal in future videos 👍🏻
Pretty sure the convertible Cortina’s are known as ‘Crayford Cortina’s’, Crayford being the company who did the conversions.
I think your probably correct although it didn’t say Crayford in the description so I didn’t want to be wrong 🤣
I had a MK3 1.3L two door what's that worth now reg was nut it was sky Blue best car I had also great on fuel ⛽ wish I'd have kept it👍easy to work on

Hi Mitch! The Mk2 Cortina Crayford is a cabriolet. The convertible had a shorter rear scuttle like the saloon & wind down rear quarter windows. The cabriolet is extremely rare with just a handful left! Cheers. Leigh.

Pal of mine had a Saxo in the late 90's and was the designated driver on a few club nights, every time I see one now I always think about what he's up 2 as not seen him in years, always makes me think of Gavin too from Gavin & Stacy

Well done Mitch, I live in Australia but still love watching your clips of the Classic British Cars auctions. My interest has increased recently as I own an Australian built Morris Cooper S Mk1 1968. They were assembled in Sydney back in the day with around 75% local content, wind up windows rather than the sliding type and various other differences. Back to my youth as I owned and wrecked an 1965 Austin Cooper S when in my silly college days in Wrexham!! Keep up with the clips,👍

I dont know how you do it Mitch - it's such a simple formula, going to an auction, picking a selection of cars to look at in a bit of detail, condition, owners, mileage, colour, any interesting history etc. A little epilogue at the end with how you felt, maybe an honourable mention plus your pick of the bunch - and that's it! I wrote to you not long back to say it was always a dilemma if you came on while hoovering and it took longer cos of all the rewinding - today, you caught me coming back from the supermarket and i quite like a little bimble round Lidl but as soon as i saw a new vid i was out of there😂 You've got the touch, buddy, it's great!

Compared to what was on the road in the 70s, that car was a rocket ship.
Good selection there mate.. E36 was a nice thing.. as was the Mk3 Cortina!! Think I'd opt for the Impreza with the roof vent! Had an earlier RA, with the adjustable centre diff and plated lsd's etc... Another one I shouldn't of sold 🤦♂️👍

Excellent video Mitch. I too would have been staring all day at the MK3 Cortina, that was a pristine example. The Transit camper van was another excellent example, with its rarity value of only 4 left in the UK. As for the Mk2 Cortina soft top, I have see a lot of MK2's down the years with the 1600E being the best, but never ever seen a soft top.
