I still think the whole concept of omega shenron and that whole arc in general is genius. Execution? Thats debatable wether its great or not BUT the idea itself is awesome.
imo the first half or so of the arc was prolly the worst part of GT (writing-wise, even though the concept was great). Once they got to Nuova Shenron, everything got better from there, very compelling and had a strong ending. In all, I give the arc a 6 or 7 out of 10
Freddy Gabriel i liked it but the fact that a charcter absorbed the Dragon Balls,he shoulda been higher than a God. Ss4 gogeta woulda paled in comparison. They could have at least made them on par though bc its illogical how a potarra fusion is more powerful than the dragonballs. Omega shenron was absorbing the magic of the Dragon Balls. If it wasnt for plot and rushed fight then it would been better.
@@tiablue9106I agree that the writing in the first part of the arc was shit but from Nuova Shenron onwards it just got very generic, Nuova and Eis shenron struggle over having an honourable fight vs just getting the job done has popped up in so much Japanese media that it's not even a joke and Omega Sheron strong or not was just boring, he had zero personality or reason for doing what he was doing, GT only decent portion was the Baby Saga.

Well i can try to explain it like this....
The dragon balls themselves is the most powerful object in db universe. Shenron the dragon is just the guardian and Kami is just the creator of the dragonballs. All them wishes people made gave the dragon balls more negative energy so it shouldn't matter how strong the guardian or creator is because the power of the negative energy is not connected to the strength of the guardian. The guardian Dragon is the one thats supposed to be the same powerlevel as the creator of the dragon balls not the dragon balls themselves. The Dragon just unlocks the magic so they can be used for the specific wish. As we saw in Gt,the dragon doesnt have the power to stop the negative energy from escaping once the balls have been used for too often.
So when negative energy escapes it turns into dark magic in dragon-like forms and these dragons would be very powerful causing havoc etc like we saw in Gt.
Only thing about Gt is the shadow dragons should have been alot harder to beat especially with all the wishes they made. Especially when Syn absorded the dragon balls,he should have been a God. I guess Omega Shenron couldnt tap into the magic of the dragonballs, he could only use the negative energy created from them. Either way he got beat too easily bc plot and i think the fight could have gone better.
I gotta admit even tho I didn’t like GT, the villains in GT were way more creative then the villains in super

We already had an evil Goku in Turles, and the concept of evil kais were created I think around 2008-9

I love that you do stuff on gt without any bias. A lot of people hate gt, I for one thought bits of it were good. Also I wish when shenron became omega he changed his appearance much more
yes it's hard to note any difference after transformation except dragon balls on his chest, but he actually look slightly different if you compare him with his previous form.
GT was ok despite it's share of problems. The biggest problems were that it placed too much focus on Goku like DBZ did and the fact that he never turned back into an adult permanently until 100 years after he defeated Omega Shenron.
In my opinion, the animation in GT looked better than Super's because it was an updated version of DBZ's while Super's look similar to Kai's. Toei for some reason made the fighters look slimmer now from how they looked before.
That´s is to make it more accessible for a younger audience, the same happened to Saint Seiya, the animation on GT was great yeah but it was made for a different generation

I for one actually like GT, yeah it’s not as good as DBZ but it’s definitely not as bad as people seem to think, the Baby saga and Dark Dragon saga are pretty awesome
But does anyone actually remember the Super 17 Saga? And remember how much the Black Star Dragon Ball saga dragged? There was also plenty of moments that shouldn't have been played for laughs that were. Like Omega Shenron VS Gogeta.

Omega Shenron was always one of my favorite GT villains, I honestly hope he shows up in FighterZ.

I know a lot of people hate GT but honestly I thought the shadow dragon concept was brilliant and hope they do something similar in Super. Teaching them not to rely on the Dragonballs to insta fix everything is a great lesson. Honestly in the past stuff went down that seemed like the end (King Piccolo's first rule) and even though tons of people died earth recovered over time.
You're wrong there's a lot of people who love Dragon Ball GT so much of them that it's hard to even count the whole point is that that they just been hiding away for a while because that a lot of people would criticize them and destroy their love for something

I loved gt man that’s just my opinion but I enjoy a lot of it when I was a kid the space travel was really boring and the fact Goku being a kid which is understood but some of it was great I think they should redo it with Toriyama involved it would be great

Even though the execution is sloppy at times, the idea of having our heroes fight literal embodiments of the consequences of their actions over the whole story is a great way to end DB. An unexpected and poetic final challenge to overcome: the dragon balls themselves. Feels like it's the only way it could have ever ended.

Back then it was simple, who ever is the latest is the strongest.
It wasn't the case in the Buu arc already. Buuhan was the most powerful villain in Z, while Vegito was the most powerful being in Z - meanwhile the last serious battle was between Goku and Kid Buu.
Also Babadi and his henchman when they came to earth to revive Buu were weaker than perfect Cell. I would argue that Android 19 and 20 were weaker than Frieza but isn’t super clear. Still 2 clear examples in a series (Z) with 3-4 main arcs.

@Martin Ramirez Kid Buu isn't the strongest. Goku knew he didn't stand a chance against Super Buu on his own and knew he had to fuse with Vegeta to even have a chance against him and he confidently fought against Kid Buu in his SS3 form.
This is a great idea for a villain that can be brought into super. Super struggles to create villains that are believable in their power because of how strong goku and vegeta have become. It’s just hard to believe that there is a god of destruction level character just wandering the universe that hasn’t been discovered yet.

While it's impossible to deny that the God of Destruction title was not invented, it is possible that Shenron actually does possess Divine energy as he comes from the wish orbs, which were created with Divine Kai energy, meaning that he basically has the opposite of the Kais in terms of energy, much like a God of Destruction has ki opposite to the creative ki of the Kais
Omega was pretty amazing. TWO Super Saiyan 4s couldn't touch him, even with Goku being empowered by the other earth Saiyans (fun fact, they were actually one shy of making Goku a Super Saiyan God, hehehe). But also, he did not fuck around. Goku and Vegeta fused ONCE, and it was nearly the end of him. He devoted the rest of the fight to making sure the pair of them didn't do it again, because he knew on Round 2 Gogeta would go straight for the throat.
I'm still really hoping they reuse the ideas in the Shadow Dragon arc. The idea of the Dragon Balls creating the ultimate enemies for the series really makes sense and should be the way Super ends. Plus the idea of the balls being way overused and creating negative energy as a result, really makes a lot of sense. Before Goku and Bulma the Dragon Balls were almost never used, but during the series they're used almost as much as they possibly can be used. It makes sense that they would become corrupt over time.
Does anyone remember how Omega Shenron stopped Goku and Vegeta from fusing again? Last I checked, you can't fuse again for another hour. That's what Super Buu was waiting on before absorbing Gotenks. And the Super Broly movie didn't apply that principle. Plothole or retcon...

Geekdom101 nothing to debunk. This is a series called "Strongest in Dragonball". He's not claiming that Omega is the strongest in dragonball.
Omega Shenron exists in GT verse, which follows the old 4 galaxy model, before the canon universe was confirmed to be like ours.
Even if his universe attack was instant, it'd be a galaxy+feat, but that's with a bit of wank.

Since Omega Shenron came from overusing the regular dragon ball. I always wondered what were to happen if let's say if you overused the Namekain dragon balls, or the Super dragon balls. I know the whole negative energy thing is exclusive to GT but you know just a thought lol
Super Omega Shenron... that's terrifying, absolutely insane. Considering the dragon balls are as strong as the creator, dende is nothing compared to even sayain saga characters, yet omega is universal. So imagine a multiversal level being making the dragon balls. Omega might even be complex multiversal or 4 to 5 Dimensonal at that point. We would all just Die immediately.
Although the show and layout of events wasn't very good, the concept of the shadow dragons was very cool. The idea using the main story point too much no matter how good the reason results in these evil creatures. Omega shenron was evil and didn't screw around unlike all the other villains. That's why he was so scary. He didn't want to play games like cell, he wanted to eliminate all who oppose him and allow darkness to be all that exists.

Omega Shenron just by standing there doing nothing can destroy the universe, Dragonball gt was universal. Movie characters and moves do show up, and you can argue some of these movies share a continuity as the same movie character shows up in a few of them. Icarus is in 3 of them and the garlic jr arcs Sacred Water is in GT. Cooler is in GT.
I didn't really like most of GT but damn the last fight and especially SSJ4 Gogeta were so cool..

People don't hate GT because of its ideas. They hate it because the execution sucked. The fight's aren't about skill like in DB, but also lack the speed of Z. Besides the fighting, the animation was much poorer compared to Z, the ideas for the arcs were not fully realized, and the comical parts weren't really funny. It also lacked real breakout characters to help push the new direction of the series. Z had Vegeta, Trunks, and Gohan. Super has Beerus, Whis, and Hit. GT has Pan and Uub, but I don't think they're as highly praised as Vegeta or Beerus.
Omega Shenron standing still is universal+. Now imagine his raw power when he actually fights. The writers had to have scrapped Haze's ability in battle because it was so broken.
But the Minus Universe Pollution is either his own ability or it is Haze's ability amplified with new strength.

Watching this reallt makes me want to see Omega shenron actually appear as an actual villain in Super, just the whole concept of it being amazing the amount of times bulma been using the dragon balls just to upgraded her own body who knows how many times, be really nice to see it cause if it did happen, would be interesting to see how Goku and Vegeta would handle the situation, especially if Beerus would choose to step in and Hakai Omega or let Goku and vegeta handle the situation themselves

Honestly, I think I like talking about the GT villains more then Super’s villains, I know most of GT’s villains weren’t written very well like Super 17 but to me it seems like the GT villains have something that’s more unique to them then what Super has
Since (arguably) Cell DB has not had a well written villain so all they have is there design and personality, which is why Jiren will fade into obscurity eventually

Sure Omega Shenron would probably destroy the universe and the realm of the Gods given time by poisoning the energy of the universe, but that doesn't compare with the ability to accidentally destroy the universe with a punch.
