Love the fabric you chose for your top. I made a similar one which was a free pattern called ruffle sleeve top from peppermint magazines. I’ve made 3 so far and they fit so well and are very comfy. Great instructions too. I made size 14 and did not make any alterations to the size. The only thing I did on the next ones I made was to make both the top and the lining longer. All in all for a free pattern I think you’d love it. X
I love that top , it looks great on you and thankyou so much for all the details , it’s so helpful and I agree the 6217 pattern definately doesn’t need the button at the back , off to look at Anna’s now
The collaboration is a wonderful idea! Your top turned out beautiful! Perfect fabric choice and it looks good on you! I always seem to measure at the size 20 as well, but end up making the size 16! Many years ago I sewed almost all my girls' clothes when they were little, and most of my own as well. Then I stopped, and have recently found the TH-cam sewing community, which has inspired me to pick up my hobby again. Oddly, it has been quite challenging, mainly in the fitting area. My actual sewing skills are still there, but oh my, I feel like I have so much to learn with choosing fabrics and patterns and styles, and getting the fit I'm after. I'm loving your channel!
Your top is gorgeous. I have this pattern and Was thinking of doing the same option, love your fabric choice, thanks for sharing. Much appreciated, will now go and check out Anna’s make x
Your fabric choice was perfect! I feel like the simplicity of the pattern highlights that beautiful fabric and adding the gold trim was like icing on the cake. Great job!
The Specky Seamstress thanks, I quite like contrasting rather than matching too and glad I tidied my sewing room up and found the labels from a few years ago! Lol x
Gorgeous fabric! Love your version, it looks great on you. The sizing on the big patterns drive me mad lol. I have this pattern too but not made it up yet. I might try it next Summer. I'm still in two minds about it. Off to watch Anna's now xx
Beautiful! Great job! You “sew” inspire me! I love the fabric! It reminds me of your peacock print and the metallic reminds me of the heart shirt!!!! Question: how can I cut a 1 piece back? I HATE buttons or clasps as they get caught in my hair, so I like the pullover version better! I saw a beautiful fall quilting cotton print that would look cute - may have to consider doing this top! Thanks again! God bless!
Carolyn Coppola hello! So glad you liked this video, and I have to admit I’m drawn to the shiny fabrics like the hearts on the other video and feathers on this one 😍 To do the back as one piece I would just take the back pattern piece and measure in 5/8” from the centre back draw a line all the way down at that point and either cut off the excess or fold over if you want to reuse and then cut one piece on the fold there just like the front! Hope that helps! 😊👍🏻x
