Nap! I sew a lot with velvet one of my favourite fabrics, although some say to sew with the nap running down I prefer the nap to run up. I had a very embarrassing moment once, I made the Freya top (TATB) pattern in this gorgeous velvet from fabric godmother, I sewed the top with the nap running down. I was out shopping and I felt a little draught around my midriff only to realise my tummy was on show, the nap had rubbed against my coat and had ridden up!😳 Also I find when wearing tops with nap running down there is resistance when putting coats on. They do say that colours are richer when the nap runs up. I loved the burgundy so sparkly and the pink fabric is gorgeous too!

I have lost 4.5st since January and I am having to adjust loads of my clothes and some of my makes I have had to do the same as I suggested for your Jarrah and the adjustments have been successful

With your Jarrah, I would recut the pattern in your size, cut off the sleeves and trim the sides, put the pattern back on the pieces and cut out again, leave the sleeves as they are to do that you can re-inset but you could cut them down from the top to allow you to make them the length you want. That should sort it out for you.

I've recently made a Jarrah and initially did the split sleeves, but even though I sized down they were too long and I knew they would get on my nerves, so I ended up cutting them off at the top of the split and adding a cuff, and I also put a waistband on instead of just hemming.

Love the burgundy- interesting to see the slight difference the nap makes to the colour. Still looks very good though xxx

I think you look beautiful in your "jumpsuit". Look at yourself in the mirror and not looking straight down at your bottom half. Think you'll realize your belly is not as noticeable as you think. Beautiful holiday outfit.

What is on display in Stones Fabric is just a fraction of what they have as much is stored out back, hence the swatch clips😍I used to have to walk past there twice a day when my salon was a few shops down.....not good for my wallet! They have a really good sample pack of interfacing too which I find really helpful. They also have a very cute doggie in there who thinks I go in just to see him🤣

Clever upcycling. I don’t officially do the challenges but having dropped a few sizes I have completely taken apart an oversized dress I made last year so I can re-use the fabric which I love. Just need to fit that into my plans now!😮! Green eye here for the Funfetti!! Used up all my budget for this side of Xmas so enjoying seeing others and what they make. Happy Sewing😊. Lynne

I bought that xoe pattern as soon as I saw Tamlyn in it. My daughter bought me some alpine fleece for my birthday, and I had got some ribbing to go with it, now I am thinking that I need to go buy some plain alpine fleece and I can make 2, one with the pattern on the bottom and plain on top, and the other, with plain on the bottom and pattern on top. I got the bonfire night colourway. Not really me. I was going to see if I could swap, but then decided to just go with it. It's a lovely weight. I haven't seen a single unboxing with the red colourway yet. Watching these sewing vlogs is a nightmare. Not only for the fabric subscription boxes and patterns, but after watching Ryan, I got the studio 7t7 bag making box too. I do not make bags, but that purple box was just too nice. I was going to do that latest bag with Emma, but I cannot sew at the moment. Not stopped me from buying though. My plans list is getting bigger 😂

Those jeans would make an amazing skirt. I remember making a maxi skirt using 2 pairs of jeans way back on the 1970's when i was in high-school. I was such a fashionista and an original because I sewed most of my clothes. Go for it!
