Depoe Bay and much of Lincoln County has had power restored after nearly 50 hours without. That last storm of freezing rain affected electrical transmission lines.
Thanks for the great weather information. In Forest Grove we have about 4 inches of snow with a layer of ice in between. My parents would call this a silverthaw. I’m staying put tomorrow!
I get off at 330. I dread asking my boss to leave early. There are already lots of people off work already, and I truly don’t want to have to sleep in a conference room at the hospital.
Rod, I'm the Bay Arean here in Portland and am literally planning my schedule around your forecasts and videos since I'm unfamiliar with the weather here. I can't thank you enough 💯💯💯. You're my Weather Guy :) Planning to head out Thursday for Yreka since it seems the Siskiou Summit will be clear.
Right... when you say 'over quickly', we have to exclude all of the downed trees, down power lines, wrecked vehicles of people who thought they know how to drive on the ice and the backup at the hospital for people who just bought they step outside to see. But besides all that... over quickly. 😊
Bring it on! I’m not sure if any radars caught the snow that fell yesterday afternoon from 4-6 pm north of battle ground. None of the ones that I saw caught it and it dropped about maybe as much as an inch on top of everything else. 750ft elevation btw
Thank you. Next time can you call out Camas on the map. Most of us there are hit brutally by the Gorge winds, so PDX tends to be warmer. But it would help if you showed us the line or point where Camas hits on the "money map".
I left Silverton yesterday early afternoon so I could make sure I got to work for the week without any problems, Monday (today) work got cancelled hoping to be able to get in action tomorrow. So just sitting in Portland hoping to get busy 😁
Rod Your perspective and analysis is so much better than anything I've seen. THank you for your detailed look at our crazy portland area weather.
These ice storms are no joke.
I hear driving will be d'icey
😁

I've seen what 0.50 inches of ice can do, dear god. We are in it now. Thank you for the heads up Rod, you're the best!
Best Weather Forecasting!

Probably for the best...🤣😂🤣
You have been doing a great job. Nailing it.
Glad we took a week off and went to Kuaii
Appreciate the update !
Ice over my bottom porch step and will be more tomorrow. Very slick.
Thanks Rod! Stay warm!

Safe travels!
Not looking forward to any freezing rain but sounds like it should be a quick transition to above freezing the only good thing.
30° in Willamina, sparse East wind in Willamina. Lived in NE pdx 1/2 south mile of the pdx airport most of my 65 years and know about East Wind.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate you doing more of Oregon. I live in central Oregon and this really helps me
Thanks Brother Rod! I can always count on you! 😎🇺🇸

Be safe my friends, stay home if ya can 😢this is dicey n the warm up will be a headache too😢
I had freezing rain all day Saturday without snow or sleet at 1220 feet, somehow power is still on. I hope the change over is fast.

Hey Rod, do you think, we can have another snow or ice storm, up until March?
Thanks for you hard work.

Great! We are supposed to fly to the Big Island on Wednesday early AM.
This should be an adventure.
Will this affect Estacada?
No sun in Eugene :(
Many people still without power. Max still down. History. Schools closed again Tuesday

Rod, NOAA has a new forecasting experimental model...includes freezing rain time laps.
Temperature for Salem, Ore on Wednesday morning at 34 degrees by 4am
That Temperature of 44 degrees is Roseburg, OR
This Portlander is eagerly awaiting the end of our current GOR-EASTER!
