Thank you so much, I'll have to do this on my 87 GT soon. I know these kinds of videos take a lot of work to make, thank you for putting this together.
Easy this time! 😉That's a cold start solenoid for an older throttle body (or even a carb). When energised, it pushes on the throttle linkage and opens just a little the throttle plate. Thus allowing the car to idle a little higher on startup. The thing would turn off once the engine was at working temperature.
@@GenerationZGarage I'm like the french version of "Uncle Tony"😉 I've been working on my cars all my life, and that means I've seen a lot of different things. From a 2CV to a huge V8 and everything in between. Have fun restoring your Fiero👍
Do Not use sealer on Hose joints or O-rings. Sealers can cause leaks here. Many are not plastic/rubber safe products and fuel may not wash that out so can attack the rubber 24/7. If too hard to slide hose on a part then silicone or even liquid soap works without trying to guess on rubber type you have.
@@ToddsWatchshop Permatex 80633 and related are Sealer for Threaded metal joints. SDS(MSDS) at Permatex list some ingredients but not all. Other chemicals in the product might attack the rubber. PTFE, Talc and Titaniun Dioxide between rubber and metal may cause leaking because of very low pressure and limited area in a joint. Any lube for Tank Top seal may allow O-ring squeezing out of the space during install or after causing Fuel, Fumes and Air leaking.
This is correct. PTFE should not be used on fuel systems or O-rings. Only Dow-Corning 111 should be used on O-rings and rubber hoses. No greases or liquids are required, but if needed, water and dish-soap works great. So does WD40.
I have a 87 Fiero I had to replace my fuel pump 2 months ago I just put that in in 2019 it didn't last very long it is a delphi but we had some temperatures that were 107 degrees for 2 weeks the gas was low in the tank it probably what caused it to fry least I kept the receipt this time cuz it had a lifetime warranty but I didn't know you can get the sending unit I'm going to look that up cuz I use my old one and the gas gauge doesn't work very well so I'm going to have to look into that and get a new sending unit

How do you know all this stuff?! You've been dominating the trivia!

@@turboslugfiero That's really cool! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the video and my wife will have to help me with this project. I have not asked her yet. I am doing a condenser change. So much fun.
Excellent! Well made videos!!
Very clean car! good job!
Thank you!
Hello it's a step up solenoid when you run the AC it increases idle * rpm 😗
You are correct! Thank you for participating!

PTFE is specifically used for caustic fluids like fuel. It’s also safe for rubber and polymers.
