I honestly never knew about the battery trick to test the polarity. That's pretty cool. I'll have to remember that. The foam baffels should help with bass by creating some back pressure. Nice video and thanks for the plug! Keep'em coming ;)
Hey! was definitely helpful. wire colors can be confusing. Sorry for ripping off your vid but I figured I was doing it anyways. I used yours to do my swap haha!
Those baffles are a joke, and they do absolutely nothing.
Using a battery to test polarity should only be used as a last resort, running DC through a voice coil is not a good idea (Audio signals are AC). That being said, the large spade terminal on any car audio speaker is always (+), the small one is always (-), and the terminal pad is usually stamped as such. Leave it to Pioneer to not actually mark the terminals.
@@revolutionday1 The baffles do provide a degree of isolation between the front and back wave of the speaker, hence low frequency cancellation is somewhat minimized, provided the speaker seals when mounted in the opening.
@@FieroAustin It's always nice to have a different take on things. I learned something new from your speaker video. In the end we are out to help the Fiero community. ;) I watch all your videos and your content just keeps getting better.
Polk Audio makes a great dash speaker for the Fiero...they sound fantastic!...don't forget to add the baffles under the speakers...
Thanks!!
Speakers make a huge difference. 👍
Sure do. I think I could have definitely gotten better ones but I didn't put much thought into it.
Nice job. What head unit are you using? I took the Monsoon head and amp from my donor Regal and used Infinity 4" round up front and 4x6 rears with Infinity Basslink mini. It sounds pretty good to my ears. Nice thing is the head unit looks like it was factory.
I had crimp connectors on mine too-mostly fell off, so I soldered everything.
I used the baffles as well after watching LNF's video. Thanks to both of you guys for inspiration!
Stock Fiero radio actually! well the 3rd or 4th junkyard one at least. I might be making a video on how to modify them to get bluetooth/aux inputs. Im sure they're not the best.
excellent video!
also how did you get your rear tail light
PONTIAC in LED White light?
Thanks! Actually it's a light blue. It is some sort of piece of a blue colored lexan or something. Pretty simple to cut to size. It actually came like that when I bought it...
@@FieroAustin thank you very much
@@THEKOBE7612 welcome!
I have this exact fiero. Or at least it’s the 88 GT. not sure if there are any other specifications but mine is all original. How in the hell do you have scissor doors? I’m assuming it was an aftermarket kit?
Nvm. I actually see you have a video on that lol
Lol yes they are aftermarket and if you use code "7979" on this website you can get 30% off verticaldoors.com/products/pontiac-fiero-1984-1988-vertical-lambo-doors-kit here is the how-to video for installing:

So did they sound better or no?
Well i did not replace stock speakers, so it would be hard to compare. Subjectively I think they sound pretty good! A good radio goes a long way too.
The foam baffles are currently unavailable. I’m sure someone else sells similar ones
dang if you find one let me know, i will link it agian.
@@FieroAustin will do. Seems like there are plenty of others but they just lack that necessary oval shape.
@@prettymucheverything1033 thanks!!
