I only hold an item for 15min. This gives them time to walk and and talk about it and come back if they decide to buy. I tell them, "I will hold this for 15 minutes. If you decide you don't want it, no worries. I will put it back out at the end of the time."

I am handicapped so I no longer sell in person. However I have a set up just like I would at a market. NO JOKE I have gridwalls in a U formation in my living room (I don't do company lol so no worries there, My living room IS MY MARKET) And I live stream every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I can barely keep up with supply and demand so honestly it's worth it for someone like me (handicapped) to do online. For "holding" I will hold until the end of the stream. So if it's a 2-3 hour stream that's it, I do tag them back before I end the stream but if they don't come back the items go back up for grabs. I actually had this situation last weekend. The lady didn't come back and two of the items she choose were the end of my stock and the sold in the next stream. So MAYBE tell the child that you will hold for maybe 10-15 min so they can go ask a parent for the money but otherwise you have to sell if someone else wants it.
People spend for the bigger items for Christmas Gifts, Personally I would NOT lower any prices. I think You'll get your asking price on your unicorn.
Oh and Ketchup and LOTS of onions because well onion breath I just don't care lololololol

when i did markets yrs ago, i would hold items for people if they paid for it partly, like deposit, otherwise i didnt hold it. love your videos by the way , Diana Au xx

first I prefer relish on my hot dog. as far as holds. I will hold for 30 minutes and then put back out.
Don't EVER hold on to an item for someone unless they put a deposit it on it. I have botten burned way to may time over the year and now I stop doing it
