This was very in depth and easy to follow! I recently just bought one of these for my diabetic cat and I really appreciate the time you took to make this video. :)

What should the numbers be for a normal reading for a cat please in mg/L.
My cat tested at 19 mg/L
    Which I think is high?
    Thanks

Typically, a normal range for a feline pet is 80mg/dL to 120mg/dL. If you are using a Western Country measurement (mmoles/L), then there is a conversion link you can use: www.felinediabetes.com/bg-convert.htm. Ultimately, blood glucose readings on any patient are variable, so I would consult with your regular veterinarian on the appropriate range for your pet.

What' s the suitable time to blood test?

Hi there. Typically, you would do readings for blood glucose curves if the pet is acting abnormally. Otherwise, you may want to do readings every 6 months if you are monitoring.
If you are, in fact, performing a blood glucose curve for evaluation, you would want to obtain a reading before feeding your pet in the morning and then continue readings in 120 minute intervals for about 12 hours.
Your veterinarian may want a blood glucose curve every 6 months.
Consult with your veterinarian on your curve readings to determine if your pet's insulin dose needs to be adjusted.
If your pet is acting abnormal and showing signs of hyper or hypoglycemia, you will want to obtain a reading and report to your veterinarian.

So hard to get a blood sample that the reader will accept. I have wasted so many strips without a single successful reading that I smashed the stupid thing to pieces.

It was too far to really see where and how the blood was put on the strip!

Approximately Three minutes nine seconds you cut out? the dog didn’t jump at all LOL! I would’ve liked to of seen how you do it on the PAW,And especially on the gums LOL.

Hi Jon! The only editing that took place was the elimination of unnecessary dialogue following the poke at 3:11. We recommend the ear because it is less sensitive and much easier to sample when your dog is moving. No "jumping," just not the best editing! 🙂
If you are a client of ours, feel free to stop by and we'd be happy to show you how quick this is with your pet. Have a great day!

Why? That would be more painful for the dog. Do you enjoy seing them in pain? Do you have a diabetic dog?
