  • While I get the boat ready for this weekend camping trip I made the decision to upgrade to LifePO4/lithium having 512WH and 40Amps of power onboard with running a VICTRONCONNECT solar charge controller hooked up to just one 50watt panel.

You do such a great job explaining your build. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Keep it up . Sailing a Cat 22 out of Port Kelly on the mighty Columbia.

Cool! I like what you have done.
I have hull # 8588 . I hated the original sliding Gally ripped it out and trashed it. I built a new one from plywood and put it on full extension drawer slides. It's much better use of space and way easier to pull out.
On the stove we use a single burner camp stove that uses the small butane canister. They are cheap and don't use all that power.
We have a fridge like yours, simrad 7 plotter, tiller pilot, led lights wired in for cabin and running lights, vhf radio all on a 100 ah deep cycle marine battery. We have a 30 watt solar panel on the stern rail. Just to give you an idea.
We are currently getting ready in April to cross from Miami to Bimini.
I'll try and get a video of the mods we have done so far on here.
I like your Bimini top, did it come with the boat?

Be awesome to see a video! I plan on installing another 2 lithium banks with the two 50 watt solar panels, only one I can’t make my mind up on is the stove up would love to run a induction just for simplicity and not think about forgetting propane or running out but I haven’t done the math for if it’s even possible

I put a video up of the Gally and the inside of my boat. Check it out!

I am doing full overhaul on a Jaguar 22 ( uk version of catalina 22 ) I sold the sliding kitchen as thought it took up too much room . Pity you weren't in UK or me in US as it would have been yours. Can not believe how much work involved in a 22 foot boat.

Like everyone says “it’s a boat” never not enough projects. Being smaller it does make some things much easier and less expensive over any larger boat, everyone tells me they got rid of the kitchen but can never find them! one of the biggest is being on a trailer and not having to haul out. Awesome to see my video getting all the way to the UK, rock on with your Jaguar 22!

Was waiting for someone to say this. Been extremely busy with work, I had a video planned but it rained all day, I got some sanding to do and put the new mast step on to be ready to sail. Sorry for the delay on videos.
