Dude. I JUST spent days figuring out how to do EXACTLY this in Grasshopper / Rhino a month ago. Then I had to bring it INTO a SketchUp model. Where were you? LOL

Nice but shame SketchUp is so far behind when it comes to animations, fluid dynamics, rigid bodies etc etc. Another good reason to switch to Blender I reckon.

for architecture and interior designers sketchup would be a better choice tho, generally its a good idea to use both programs concurrently

As long as you can don't mind paying for a SketchUp subscription and some plugins you'll need to make it efficient not to mention rendering.

@@stevensilcock yes, subscription is a big issue alot of users have brought up on the forums, just hope blender has a similar layout function for technical plans.
