I'm not sure that you will see this, but maybe you could dedicate a few minutes during a presentation about volunteers and volunteerism. They, and mentors are important partners in a persons recovery, and need to be involved in the process to a degree.

Yes. Volunteers are very helpful. Unfortunately many programs do not have them or make use of them. Mentors, sponsors, peer recovery specialists are all essential to having enough services available.

I don't understand assessments, from my experience I don't recall being thoroughly evaluated, I don't know, I'm not good with speaking to people though anyways and being honest with them bout myself, but the only assessments I'm aware of are the sort of dumb general depression/anxiety questionnaires they hand out. Seems like cheating/cutting corners to me, and not even accurate for the full picture, you would have to look into mental health yourself and bring it up whatever issue/disorder is most relevant to someone, but how does one even know what to look for, I just don't understand it at all. Is it different per system or is the paper questionnaire the standard format of assessing someone's mental health across healthcare companies?

A lot of organizations use a very standard format based on the symptoms identified in the DSM V for the most common disorders, however, since many disorders have similar symptoms, it is crucial for the clinician to take that information and synthesize it into an individualized picture. Kind of like how garlic, onion and oregano are common constituents of many different recipes, without looking at the rest of the ingredients, it is hard to tell what someone is making.

How do you know you don't have oxytocin?

@@DocSnipes sorry, my comment isn't totally literal, we all have some amount of these chemicals regardless of lacking or not, right? I was just taking note on what u said about oxytocin and what events/situation that it's linked with such as bonding, and it may be an underlying reason for one's behavior. 😅 Don't mind my silly comment

Instead of you girls a d boys (who are suffering from any form of addiction) constantly talking about judgement, understanding, underestimating, support etc etc etc... Please please if you REALLY want to help others... Advice as MANY MANY people (online/offline/in person/schools kids/even kindergarten kids, etc). ... On the miseries of de-addiction 🙏🙏🙏🙏 prevention is better than cure! Ask them to take a SOLID oath on "Just saying NO" ... Educate them on the exact """"""tactics""""" used by your drug addict friends who got you into their nasty game!!!! Tell them how to identify such friends and how to avoid them like corona virus.... how not to feel ashamed to say NO or feel guilty to loose such DARK friendships.. lastly how to develop good habits like yoga, exercise, learning music, singing, volunteering, praying, spirituality, painting, martial arts, swimming, etc ANYTHING to keep them busy and occupied with healthy/fun habits and healthy friendships 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
