      That’s so sweet. I do love her with all my heart. And some days are a real struggle. I’m sure we can all say the same thing about each of our kiddos 🥰

    Is there any difference in doing them proximal to distal to distal to proximal ?

    • @yourautismgameplan1637
      @yourautismgameplan1637  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s the way I’ve always read about then being done and how our therapists always taught us to do it. I think it’s also easier to do that way because you’re pulling away instead of pushing towards. I think it feels better myself too ☺️. It’s almost like it gets the energy out or there’s a sensible end point - a finale at the fingertips or toes. With going distal
      To proximal I imagine it might feel unfinished (because where Dom you stop then?) and might amp up sensory dysregulation instead of calming down.

      It definitely may help - often times these things involve some trial and error. Especially when the intervention is unlikely to cause any harm, it’s definitely worth a try.

      @yourautismgameplan1637  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interestingly, she was a very early, very good talker - still is. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes I wish she didn't talk quite so much ;-)

      @@yourautismgameplan1637 I'm surprised that you'd say something so insensitive when you know that so many autism parents are dying to hear just one word from their children. I've heard other autism parents say this and every time I'm STUNNED at the lack of awareness & empathy. No amount of talking would be too much for the parent of a non-verbal child. Tears just started running down my face as I type this, and I'm not a crier.
