to me it kind of feels like "set me free" was preparing us for this new era of twice songs. fancy and feel special took us from cute to glam, more and more and i can't stop me took us to a mature road, and now it seems like they're settling into a comfortable sound thats very.. disgestable if thay makes sense? idk, i just love this new cool-toned vibe if thats the right word to describe it! maybe i'm just super biased as a once anyway-great video!

No it was just a coincidence 😭 they were meant to release this project last year as the first cb after the contract renewal instead of rtb since they posted the ‘our youth’ poster but they changed plans last minute and released mlsr and smf first kinda wish they stuck with the original plan and smf was kept in the vault

I loved this twice release, it was amazing and I love the message and everything thing. I kinda had your fear but I am really happy about it and it is an album that clicks on the first listen 100%
Honestly, this album is really enjoyable. This album is so soft and sweet and slightly melancholic. I enjoyed all the songs and the album, as a piece of art, works really well. All of the songs fit well in the same album and it hepls it feel like a well thought album. Also, I love seeing more Jeoyong lines, she definitely helped the song sound way better.

My friends disliked Ready To Be as an album until we went on a road trip down to Texas for the summer last year.
Blame it on Me, Crazy Stupid Love, and Got the Thrills were blasting with the windows down, and Wallflower was our Hotel / AirBnB relaxer song.

When you talked about songwriting, I think the rap duo and Nahyo definitely developed over the years but I'd personally want to hear more of Momo's songwriting as she so far wrote catchy songs that are easy to dance to. Sana and Jeongyeon are the middle of them, but yes I'd definitely love to hear more of Jeongyeon's lyrics especially.
I don't think Mina and Tzuyu are at their level yet, and I do get that Korean is a foreign language to them and they're still practicing English but I'd love to see what their style would be, Mina's inspo for It's not easy for you was pretty interesting.

Do i think this is a better project than Between 1&2 and Ready to Be? Not yet, but it's really up to par, bcuz WITH You-th takes advantage of the Best things of both projects and sprinkles it with Twice colorful sound to make it great.
Also in Dahyun i trust, You Got Me is my favorite song from the mini, that girl has never let me down when it comes to music

This comeback makes me a bit emotional, twice was my og ult group and I’m so proud of them for all they’ve done, I was honored to see them live last year and it honestly just made me so happy as they seemed so happy!
the album is really nice and the visuals of the m/v are really fresh and different, I definitely think this a new era for twice and certainly something to look forward too!
1. I don't think New New is a bad song at all. It has the positive, bright color all over it, which is similar to Twice's songs early in their career and ultimately connects it to *my* youth and I love that.
2. One Spark, I'm not going to lie, is also the first title track since Alcohol-Free that I've liked on the first listen. The other ones just took some time to grow on me.
3. I Got You takes the crown for best English pre-release in my head and the b-sides are lovely! I'm so happy that they finally got around to utilizing the members' voices in a healthy and vibey way (especially Momo's lower register, Chae's singing and generally more Jeongyeon), although I would've liked for the songs to be longer and one to have an extended rap part featuring Chae, Dahyun and hopefully even Momo.
4. I'm always kind of wondering what their artistic involvement looks like and Jihyo's little series has definitely shown that they can have input when they want to. Jihyo made marketing decisions or at least stated her opinion and influenced said decisions... they also said in an interview that everyone contributed to this EP, whether it be styling, music or something else.
I'd love to have more self-written tracks, although I imagine it to be stressful when releasing an EP every 7-8 months on average. Since Dahyun said she wrote more than just You Get Me and Jeongyeon mentioned during Scientist promo that she was writing a ballad, and we have yet to see both those projects, I'm wondering whether the other members and especially Tzuyu are writing and their songs keep getting rejected or they just don't take an interest in it (anymore).
Idk, I'd be happy if some of them had two brand deals less and some of them two brand deals more, while making sure that each of their focus is on developing their skills and not modeling. They may not have anything left to prove, but it'd be nice to see someone other than Jihyo having composer credits, or having one of their names as the producer, or having (one of) them write the title track, or having (one of) them making the choreography to a song, or having them release a video of just how involved they are in the album making / release process and just generally having them dive deeper into what they create.
Sometimes I just feel like they don't even understand why certain stylistic choices were made and it makes me sad (e.g. they only started talking about SMF's lyrics and their meaning at their dance practice... that's *after* choosing and recording the song as their title track. their video reacting to and commenting on past MVs also kind of disappointed me). I'd just love for them to explain why they do what they do in MVs. Why is it raining in Killin' Me Good's final chorus? why is Chaeyoung jumping in SMF? what does the bike race in ICSM represent? and so on. I have interpretations of my own, but I'd like to know *that* they thought about it, *what* they interpreted it as and then maybe a note by the director / creative team what was intended.
Maybe this is too much to ask, I've been thinking about it for a while though.

I agree with everything you said! Would love to see more artistic involvement as well as behind the scenes of recording. Im a newer once but get the impression most may be insecure about their live signing but would love to see them confident in their abilities and see recording sessions like with Jihyo and nayeon

I honestly thought similar about their live singing when I just became a Once (I was honestly a bit embarrassed by it?), but they sing live more often and better than they are given credit for. They are no Beyoncés, won't ever be, and they should definitely focus more on developing their skills, but they aren't nearly as bad as they are often made out to be.
Especially Dingo's Killing Voice video showed that they have more understand of technique and vocalizing than what is always protrayed. And I don't want to compare, but Stray Kids and BTS don't sing much better when dancing hard and being out of breath and they are doing just fine (with a tad bit less hate).
I'm definitely curious why we don't get recording session videos. Someone should ask them on Bubble😂
This release is so good😭❤️ I also thought it was a ‘good bye’ type of album but once I listened to the full album and read some interviews I also took it more as a reflection or testament to their relationship/bond
The one time I'm finally happy about a TWICE comeback again, but then everyone else was so busy talking about LSFM. The timing is a bit unfortunate. I personally love this TWICE comeback as this feels like THEM and their older ways!
I really hope that on the 9th anniversary there would be a full album with 10 songs (a title track + 9 songs written by every single member - one from Nayeon, one from Jeongyeon etc.). That would be awesome.

I obviously loved it bc Twice has nothing to prove to me they slay every single thing they do and I’m just here like 😦 besties you’re so good!!! I loved that the album felt VERY Twice and was just so fun and happy and ahhh I love it. My only gripe is how short it is 😭😭😭 Bloom is I think the only song that meets my expectations for song length and when I saw so many under 3 minutes I was :(
I hope you’re right about a big project (plz Lord make it a full album!!!) for October bc their 9th anniversary is such a big deal!!! 9 years for the 9 girlies we need a full length album!!! If they do release another project besides the Japanese album I agree that I want them to write more of the songs! Everything Jeongyeon writes is golden, but also Momo??? Everything she sets her pen to SLAPS. Ahhh anyway I think that’s all I have to say and from one Once to another… I’m so happy for us and for our girlies for being so happy with their careers :,)

Thank you for this explanation! I was so lost on what With Youth was trying to say but I think this album is gorgeous. Rush is like Talk that Talk to me, it just clicked so well. Bloom is of also a jam. I wish it wasn’t a B-side because I could see if being hugely popular in Korea and the states. I’m more tempted to say we’ll get another comeback this year and a full release next year on the 10th anniversary (or maybe a disbandment/farewell project as much as I hate to think about it) because it’s such a historic mark for any K-pop group. Plus Twices schedule is kinda stacked, even for them. With the world tours, the release, etc. and then last year touring and half the members catching COVID, I can see them slowing down this year.
I LOVE this album so much. Every song was amazing on first listen, but Bloom literally feels like it was written with me in mind. It ticks every box for what makes me love a song wholeheartedly. I was also terrified what this meant, but it really is just a celebration of Twice, and my god do they deserve to revel in their genuine happiness
I love this era of twice. I haven't been a fan of theirs for long but looking back at their discography and then at this comeback it truly feels like something new for them. I remember when I listened to I GOT YOU and how much I loved the lyrics and watched the MV, and the message of both is just so sweet and special. Listening and watching the MV for ONE SPARK it truly feels like a celebration of the new stage of their lives as individuals and as a group. After I got into kpop on 2020 finding Twice was truly one of the best things to ever happen to me. To me they don't disappoint. Anyways enough rambling, great video.
twice taking full control over the artistic direction of their music makes so much sense, like they are insanely good songwriters. my favourite song on with you-th is rush right now, but i honestly love all the songs on this release. and im crossing my fingers for a 4th full album FRFR, hoping they are the songwriters for that too, because they cook once a damn feast every time.
like genuinely this might be my favourite twice album ever, i fear eyes wide open has been dethroned. my spotify 2024 wrapped twice is likely gonna be my artist of the year for the second year in a row, and itll be their fourth year being in my top listens.

Like the girls can manage themselves the best now, heck even maybe get a once or 2 (with veto abilities regarding decisions) into the promotion, security and privacy teams and they'll be the safest k-pop group who's well promoted
They can very much visualise concepts, write songs regarding that concept, style themselves and etc.
Twice can be more self sufficient than stray kids atp cuz we have more than half the group who can contribute to all the things (stray kids have certain members specialising in certain things)

I say bring on the country album! I’m confident that they’d knock it out of the park. The chorus in Next Page feels country to me but nowhere near as much as Blame It On Me. When that chorus hit for the first time, I immediately thought this is perfect for a pickup truck commercial.

I loved the personal sentiment of this album and its cohesiveness concerning their past work. It’s their most mature work to date which is SUPER touching and nostalgic and sweet! The one major flaw that I can’t let go of though is how shockingly one-dimensional some of these songs are in terms of structure even for TWICE. I’m not sure if this is in service to their vocal abilities and leads to (hopefully! fingers crossed!!) more live performances however.
I’m going to be honest about something else as well, TWICE has never been “that group” when it comes to vocal abilities and they really don’t have to be for us to enjoy them…yet I think this is a step in the right direction if they want to begin showcasing that side of themselves. I would love to be able to actually hear all the girls - NOT just 3Mix - hold more than just a couple of notes on stage one day without relying heavily on a backtrack. I don’t care if I hear their struggles to get to that point either! I think it would be pretty special in fact if we got to see the process.
" _Forever's here if you just stick with me._ " 🍭🍭 Twice said it: they're eternal. In the final analysis, pound for pound, they are the greatest of the 3rd generation girl groups in my opinion. The gold standard for work ethic, personal integrity, group chemistry, etc. The complete package. If SNSD and SM developed the blueprint for a world-beating group, then Twice and JYPE carried on that legacy and arguably went to even greater heights. If this were their final project, they'd go off into the sunset with nothing to regret, but the fact that they're still going strong is incredible for the industry and of course, for Onces. I can't wait to see what's coming in October, and of course next year is the big 10.

It happens similar to me, sometimes when Twice does a happy emotional song, i get somewhat scared. I got you and One Spark are really cute, i wish they promoted bloom or Rush as well. And JYP to promote better in Korea, i have read k fans bearly knew about the comeback.

Your fears with this album being a disbandment album is so real, i experienced the same thing. Something about the reminiscing vibe really felt like a goodbye, but after listening to the whole album it feels like being able to take a glimpse at twice’s relationship as they see each other. It’s such a sweet album yet painfully short. I did immediately fall in love with each song (esp Bloom- but that’s not my Jeongie bias) so a lot of other once’s comments about disliking new^2 is crazy to me. Bloom is such a great song lyrically, I hope the new solo is Jeongyeon so we can get more Jeongyeon lyrics
i don't want sound like a hater haha, but this release is (for the moment) my least favorite of twice whole discography, i don't find the songs that good (i still have the time to change my mind as i only listened to em a few times) but i feel like this album is kinda of a downgrade compared to ready to be. i mean ready to be have wallflower, blame it on me and crazy stupid love, some of my favs twice songs. BUT hear me out the concept is so cute and i love it, i reall love the mvs too. i got you mv is so cozy? i cannot really describe it. (im also so happy abt dahyun getting a chorus part OMG.) i feel like bloom is gonna grow on me tho. i'm really excited to see what they do next!

As a hardcore once it’s easy to get caught up in comeback season and disregard my own enjoyment of Twice’s newest release for the sake of streaming and supporting them.
In retrospect though, I feel that Ready to Be was a SERIOUS dip in quality that was so uncharacteristic for Twice; Set Me Free felt so bland and empty despite being a retro disco-y track, coupled with the lacklustre b-sides and the muddled concept the whole project just felt disjointed and unmemorable.
With You-th on the other hand truly feels like a return to form, and is one of their most cohesive works since Taste of Love (Alcohol Free EP). The project is such an upgrade from RTB in so many ways-the girls sound better, the b-sides are better, the styling and concept photos are STUNNING and don’t just feel like a bunch of stuff mashed together.
While ‘I Got You’ might’ve felt overly sentimental coming from another group, coming from a long-standing group like Twice the song feels deserving of its level of sincerity and earnestness.
Dahyun and Chaeyoung’s pen come through ONCE AGAIN, and Jeongyeon is actually allowed to shine for once with her songwriting on Bloom and remind everyone that she IS that girl (YOOLO incoming everyone be ready!!).
My only minor gripe with this EP would be One Spark, which I still love, but on a mini album with such strong B-sides it doesn’t feel like a stand out despite being the title track.
All in all though, this is such a beautiful album to showcase not just their talents, but the maturity and sisterhood shared between them.
And while Ready to Be had me somewhat worried for the future of Twice and their sound, With You-th makes me feel silly for ever doubting them.

Looking back at the trajectory and progression of their albums, TWICE has painted such a beautiful story of love, resilience, and craftsmanship. They've never forgotten who they are and even as their music has evolved, every single track still reflects their unique TWICE sound, no matter what the haters say.

I cried when I first listened to One Spark. I'm was on my office desk when this dropped, I was trying to hold myself from bawling. I have no idea what it is, but I tear up on almost TWICE comeback, this one is no exception. In fact this one made me tear up the most. 😭
Bloom and Rush ARE SOOO GOOD. But again, WHY TF DO PEOPLE HATE ON NEW NEW I LOVE THAT SONG. I like Bloom more but New New is close 2nd for me. 💪🏻

Off topic but I really hope either Chaeyoung’s Solo or TWICE’s future comebacks will be dreamy pop coded bc something tells me that Chaeyoung writing basics and Rush, arguably one of their most dream pop sounding tracks, is foreshadowing them settling for a long-term dream pop concept.

I really wanted to like this album and songs are decent, but for me they're decent to the point of forgettable. Maybe I need to hear it more, but their last album that I came back to majority of songs was between 1&2.
I think their previous albums had more songs that were like "great, added to playlist" moments (think songs like Get loud, Up no more, Love Foolish, Baby blue love,Rewind...)
I know they said few days ago they said Feel special album was made during difficult times for them, while this album is supposed to showcase their current happiness but I don't think it's noticeable? Something in this album seems half baked here. I don't know if it's the fact I've already heard work from producers of this album, or the fact that the group was touring for almost a year while having other activities so it felt rushed or the fact that it's mostly retro...
I honestly really want Twice to take a proper break and try to work with other people on next project.
Highly disagree. This album feels new, fresh, and different for them. Not different in how it was put together or sounds, it’s still twice. But different with something in them. The energy they put into this album feels unique. Only thing that feels rushed or half baked is the marketing, but that’s been a struggle with JYP forever. You feel their love in the songs.

The MV is a metaphor for the close bond between the Twice members. It basically means that they can weather any storm as long as they’re together. Mina and Jeongyeon were highlighted because both went on hiatus for various reasons but were able to comeback because of the support from their sisters. The red string of fate evident throughout the MV signifies the fact that they were destined to be together regardless of time, place or circumstance. They are family.
