All the guys in the comment saying valmaster is not the best chun li in the world would have complain the same if the video was against Sako or Haitani lol. All three of them are serious contenders to be the best chun in the world, just enjoy the game.
Truthfully when talking about the best in the world for any character the differences are so minimal it just depends on the day. It’s just that "One of the best in the world" or "Top level Chun Li" isn’t as good a title.
Honestly, I haven't seen neither Sako, Hoitani or any other high ranked Chun player I follow to be THIS consistent with anti-air sHK. Valmaster is also insane at any kind of scrambly conversions. Out of all players, he definitely seems like someone who knows the character in and out.
How does this man buffer inputs, plan his next move, predict *his opponent's* next move, *AND* adjust his glasses all in the brief second of oki. The mental stack has to be insane!
I like how Angry Bird played the Chun Li match up slow and defensive against MOV at Gamers 8. Just like what he said in his tier list video about playing it slow.
This game is very fast and if you open up with a round 1! Start, and then you fireball? Your opponent jumps in, combos you to the wall, then you gotta guess for your life 2 or 3 times and your dead lol. So I agree with big bird, getting perfected in this game is kinda common. It’s a fast paced game.

17:18 Playing down the double perfect..... I find this hilarious. The fact dude had first round and then couldn't do anything next two rounds to get perfected is showing how well he played . Both great players, but if you get hit with the double P and you're actually playing then just give the respect.
What I don’t like is that Marisa’s armor hit boxes for her Gladius and phalanx are inconsistent. When getting hit with a jump in, you sometimes can armor, or just get hit with the jump in which doesn’t make sense, and sometimes with the phalanx you get the armor on the light against DI and then other times just get best out anyways

drive rush punish counter and actual landing recovery frames, especially if you whiff a button coming down. IF you neutral jump hk or hp then i should get an easy punish counter when you land for how crazy evasive that is.
Exactly, tokido drops luke and gets top 6 at EVO. Pick the character you have FUN with, if you pick a character thats boring to you, just get a real job instead with more stable financial security , there’s no benefit to FGC over other lifestyles without fun. Period.
Chun's Drive Rush is pretty bad outside of following behind a fireball, staying at range Ken can just use his OD Fireball to stop her approach and he never has to deal with Drive Rush in neutral
A couple of friends and I once enlisted in a sf5 tournament were a group of three had to face off against another group of three. We weren’t good or anything. We just wanted to see what it was like to be on stream having people cheer for you and shit. Guess who our opponents were: Valmaster, Lufy and F-Word 😂😂😂 That’s like trying soccer for the first time and your three opponents are Messi, Ronaldo and Zidane 🤦🏻♂️
Guile is the only honest top tier compared to the rest. Come on birds 😂😂. Marisa 2 taps, Ken is just godlike overall, JP is an injustice Character, Luke does Luke things, and Deejay normals are nutty in comparison. Outside of drive rush Sonic Boom/Blade and Cr MK on punish counter guile doesn’t have many gimmicks.

No other character outside of maybe DJ could convert that like he did. Ken just has everything, easy to learn. Really wish we had better balance. All I see online is Ken, Ken, Ken, Juri, Ken, Ken, Cammy, Ken, Ken, JP, Ken...

"Best Chun-Li" is very subjective. If we use the results from the last Evo (the unofficial world championship) than highest placed Chun-Li was Haitani's. What criteria do we use to determine the best Chun-Li?
