    For anyone in the comments wondering about his parries, Kakeru just said that nothing else was working so he decided to start parrying. Although most of the comments are talking about 2F this and that, I guarantee you it's more about playing AB on and off stream and knowing his tendency as to where in there spacing he likes to use dragonlash. I do the same to Zangiefs and Hondas consistently online. I don't train parry at all and I get perfect parries all the time on Giefs cartwheel kick and Hondas headbutt. This is something yall can start paying attention to. It'll help you get perfect parries without even trying. Just try and notice where in the spacing your opponent does a certain move and I'm sure you can punish it.

      Dragonlash startup is gotta be as long as Drive Parry, same with the other moves you mentioned. Has nothing to do with anticipation. It’s easily react-able. You don’t have to “get a feeling” to parry headbutt, it’s like a 100 frame window. You have to press parry at the correct time, hence why everyone else that’s talking about that is correct.

    • @KhiemForsythe
      @KhiemForsythe ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally. If perfect parries start defining high level play, brothers are going to have to go back to 3s and observe how mixups revolved parries. You could no longer do optimally timed and spaced normals every time, like hitting low forward at max range, because people would parry you for being predictable. Footsies became more complex as a result. I don’t think the bird brothers are familiar.

      @Un1234l that just doesn't pan out for results though. How come only kakeru has found any significant success with JP at a high level then? Pro's are in it to win. You are correct that burnout against JP is a bad place to be. Probably worse than any other character except possibly guile, who can easily chip kill with a l2 activation. It's the exchange. You barely have to respect projectiles while you have drive to parry them. But go into burnout... it's incredibly hard to get out of that pickle if Toy don't have enough life to soak it. Know what else is really hard? Getting cornered by a ken. And who has the best corner carry in the game that no one else is even close to? Ken.

      Man, I didn't quite like Punk's personality back when he showed up in the fgc but like whatever he was ok, maybe...after years not following the FGC cos of SFV (gave it a year or so then dropped it), it's pretty damn weird to be back and see how much of a whiny bitch he's become. Damn, and that guy is talented!

    How many times have we heard people talk about how significant perfect parrying is going to be in this game going forward. Mastering it is damn near akin to mastering neutral, itself. Even with the reduced damage scaling, the ability to instantly shift the momentum and take back your turn can be crucial.

    wow crazy how fast kakeru adjusted. during the bracket stage, semifinals i think, angry bird beat kakeru 3-0. and then after kakreu got sent to losers final and won. he somehow during that time "downloaded" angry bird pattern, enough to parry the specific dash kick into punish. crazy in just a short amount of time. a reverse sweep, and overwhelming win.

    I'm glad Kakeru shows why perfect parry doesn't need buff. But watching Kakeru did 32 perfect parry makes me wants to lab perfect parry. At best, i can only do maybe three or four perfect parry /match which most of them was against projectile, Honda headbutt, Cammy spinning arrow, or Ken dragonlash.

    • @jkdman2007
      @jkdman2007 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's harder to perfect parry projectiles than a special move like dragonlash. Also if you do it too early, you will never get perfect parry, but when you do it a bit too late, you will get hit by projectiles.

      Actually if you have watched Japanese sf6 matches from the release of Sf6 till now, Japanese top players already put perfect parries into their gameplay for at least one month ago. But it's very hard to do, so no one can do that many perfect parries as kakeru.
