If you change your passport for any reason, request the Indian High Commission /Indian Council General's office put OIC info on your New Passport.If you travelling in hurry or did not have time for this then carry your old passport with you travelling to India.
Sorry this is not the official way to update your passport. Holder must upload latest pic & copy of fresh passport on OCI portal & have print out with you 😊
No need to transfer your OCI to the new passport. You can carry your old passport with you and present it at the airport to a immigration officer and you can go freely. Don’t spend money to transfer your OCI to your new passport. Ok 👍
Old passport is null and void including its contents.India government with good intentions to help may accept this.But in all the Western countries they will not accept any information from old discarded passport. Cost to have this IOC information on new passport is negligible.People don't cringe went they want new Passport of a western country. @@Coutinhoallen1

I tried updating the new passport information. Unfortunately website was asking all those same questions as if it is a new application. Maybe there is another link which I may have missed. It should have been simple - enter OCI number, name, enter old and new passport number and upload copy of the key pages from the new passport. All these have changed a while back (2015) when MEA decided to do away with life-long visa sticker on your passport. Now you are only required to present your OCI card as that is your proof of Indian Citizenship. Immigration officials only need your foreign passport so they can put the entry/exit stamp. Just ensure that your foreign passport has at least 6 months validity else you could be in trouble while getting the entry stamp. How I know this ? I recently travelled to Mumbai and no immigration officials were asking for old passport from anyone. I simply travelled with my new foreign passport which is not reflected in my OCI card. It makes no sense in this age to get this updated when passports are expected to be renewed every 10 years and also home address updated which for some reason is printed on OCI.
In London, Portuguese Consulate doesn't gives back your old passport at the time of renewals.Even you requested them politely to give back the old Portuguese passport. Its your property which we pay for the passport. Kindly Bro.please explain this point.

Now days Indian immigration is giving hard time to people who have OCI. It's sad, because our money, property, family evrthing is in India but they deal with us like aliens. Just because we took foreign nationality for better living and jobs which unfortunately we don't get in India.

Then try to take pic of old passport number with your photo on that page and get an affidavit, maybe that will work or ask the VSF, they answer right away.

You have to request them to give it back to you.Moreover see to it that they don't destroy the page on which your lifelong OCI is pasted.
