One of the evidence asked is employment letter - can you advise on that? It says employment letter requires job description. No company I know provides an employment letter with the job description, it is usually with the job title, start/end date, permanent post or not etc.
Hello, I haven't done particulars update, but I think an employer should be able to provide a brief job description in the letter. If not I would print a job description from employers website and submit it along with the letter

No just the email. You can print that and also the application status page. That should be enough proof to carry. But if the status is updated they won't ask for it but good to carry them.

Yes it's only updated in the system. U will use current oci booklet with new passport. Only time a new oci booklet is issued is after age of 20 for kids and age 50 for adults.

The checklist says duly signed application. Do you affix the physical photo on both the forms? Or on just 1 form? Or leave the photo in the packet since it is printed on the printed application?
Not sure. What did you do when ypu applied for your initial OCI? I suggest follow the same process. I would still enter your last indian passport number
Suppose you already got a OCI card reissued after 50 with the new passport, again after 60, if you get a new passport, still do you need to ‘update or link’ your new passport in OCI portal ? This was never answered anywhere in the portal faq other than ‘once after 50’.
They specify in the instructions that in case of name change, fill in your name as per your current passport. You can fill your maiden name in the "Previous Name" field.

Actually you do need to update OCi info online everytime you renew your Canadian passport. It's stated on OCI website. You may be accepted at immigration even without OCI update but that's taking a chance. This is totally at the discretion of immigration officer and they can stop you from entering anytime.
They used to harras earlier at the beginning when they had removed the sticker oci, not anymore. I know its written you can update if you wish but not a must for between age 20 to 50. And it is also written that having your old passport number on your oci is enough you do not need to even carry your old passport anymore, once u entered india with your old passport, it is already saved in the immigration system and hence even if u get new passports, they automatically add your new passport in system at immigration. I have travelled so many times with the same old passport number, did not update either passport number nor address nor anything else. Nothing to do with officer. You are only required to update passport details if u are below 20 and above 50 age.
@@zindagikegolgappe yes its easy to update, that's True. But I just carry that old passport everytime, its always in my file whenever i travel, so many years they never asked, so even if they ask in future, i can simply show that passport which also has the sticker visa.
Agree but with relations between India and Canada being stained, I wouldn't take a chance. I have updated my OCI and will recommwnd others to do it. That way you don't have to carry that many passports. My two cents.

For address change fill out another OCI update application and instead of selecting the passport update as reason select update of address. Also selct other in attaching the document for address proof. There is no specific bullet for it.

Yes it is confusing but I will advice to do it to be safe. It's all online and very easy process as explained in the video

No you only have to update your OCI for change of occupation. OCI is reissued only under two conditions that I have explained in the video.

It will show only the documents it requires for you to upload. And the process is same for Minor or adult
What about signature pic for kids, they cant sign…on passports they can leave it blank…so what they do on oci update
They put their thumb print and load that in place of signature

@ankushgupta25 It normally takes 6 to 8 weeks of processing time. You can travel to India while the application is still in process.

I would suggest leave the photos in the packet.
For others, I affixed one photo and sent one with the application. For notary docus, you can simply sign it and that’s what I did.

You have to update your passport details everytime you renew your passport. Doesn't matter it's after 50 or before 50.

In change of name in oci card filling name in the form which name I should fill my current passport name or my old oci card name my maiden name

As this is a border line case with your age so close to 50, I would suspect you would have to renew your OCI. To be on the safe side email BLS.
