Awesome! So glad it will be helpful. If there's one place that can get frustrating in the process, it's the Bluetooth connection between the PC/Lunux and the Wii Mini. Be ready to attempt a handful of times to get it going. Don't get frustrated and bail, just keep trying it. It'll work after a few tries. :)

They're interesting systems. On the one hand, I dig the push button door load system for the discs. On the other, no GameCube, no internet, no SD card, no component. Ouch!

I don't blame you. It came out around the time the Wii U was released. Nintendo didn't try promoting it that much either!
The Wii Mini was a cheaper and inferior version of the Wii. It had no internet access, WiFi, online multiplayer, and couldn't play GameCube discs as well.
You were lucky. It's a stripped down version of an already stripped down game system.
I hadn't either, and it's my first! Just so happened that my local retro game store got this one in recently. I never looked for one before because it needed a complex hardmod to get it going.
I love how the Nintendo Wii Mini was released a year after the Nintendo Wii U was released.
Ah, the poor Wii U. Slow sales and a short lifespan. Shows just how well the Wii was received over such a long period of time.

This one is my first! I'd never even seen one until my local retro game store got one in stock recently. Worked out well that a softwood came around that same time.
The command "sudo apt update" is command for package list software sources refresh only. This command doesn't upgrade your Ubuntu system in any way.
Noted, and good info. Maybe others will find it easier to get Bluetooth working on their PC than I did.

Big fan . I had a issue in ps3 I download a game in my fat32 usb but when opening multimam the game does not show on the xmb menu in games section . but it does show up in the hdd if copied from my usb through multiman file manager what to do please tell

no the family edition is the exact same as the normal Wii, you just can’t play/ use GameCube games or controllers

Just fyi "sudo apt update" does NOT update the system. it tells ubuntu to look for updates, not apply them. you must also run "sudo apt upgrade " without quotes to update from terminal

Hmm. Have you tried a different USB drive? If there's one thing about the Wii, it's "fickle" about the USB drives it will accept. Hard to believe these days, but the Wii platform will soon be two decades old. How the time flies.

Sorry but i have a question, the wii mini has a 512 mb internal memory, is there any way to save gamedata on the same usb i use for usbloader? Something like a virtual memory card
I think apps like USB Loader GX do this as long as you launch the games from within the app.

@@daviddominguez1157 No, I don't think this works. They have different Bluetooth standards and different input methods..You'd either need an adapter or perhaps some software level mod may exist.

Does this work using Linux Mint?
What he used for the bluetooth portion was basic sh scripts. Those should theoretically work on any Linux. Plus, Linux Mint uses Ubuntu, so everything he did in terminal (including the 'sudo apt update' should be the same process in your case). Hope that helps!
Yeah, it should be fine. That code from the guide is pretty much applicable across multiple distros of Linux. Go for it!

Well, if you're indeed referring to the "DS" handheld, it doesn't actually get a jailbreak. There are flashcarts that will let you launch your game backups right from that single cart instead. They work very well and are super cheap to buy.
