For internet you can have duel USB that will have two connectors.. (One for the plug in of the Wii Mini's USB hub and one plug into an outlet that powers the external USB) Then you plug in a USB ethernet connector then connect the Ethernet cable to it then "walla" you have Internet but the Wii Mini must be home brewed first for all of that to happen of course)

So a couple Things regarding the Wii Mini and homebrew: - You can patch the system menu to readd all the internet features, and add Wii LAN Adapter support. - Channels tab is still needed for channels like the MK Channel, hence why its still there - Nintendont GameCube Loader has support for Wii U Pro controllers and many other controllers like Dualshock3/4, Xbox360/One controller, Dualsense and most importantly, the official Wii U and Switch GameCube Adapter. - You need the original Space Pinball files from Windows to play the port. - USB Hubs and USB HD docks can be used on the system. - There's a Sonic Mania port for Wii
Nintendont doesn’t support USB Hubs for controllers. The single USB port is taken up by the USB where your games are stored. So a GameCube controller adapter wouldn’t work.

In fact honestly it's probably the best exploit. Once you have it set up, you could homebrew a wii in seconds. "Seconds" as in literally less than 30 seconds including all the steps
3:02 Actually, some games like wii fit can let you install a channel to quickly track your progress. Theres also a mario kart channel, and since the wii mini dosent have an sd card, it needs that channel option so you can delete channels
@@thewiiguyIt’s literally impossible to brick the Wii once it’s modded and you have made a nand backup. There is a tool called priiloader that you can boot into if your Wii is bricked, super easy to unbrick if you somehow fuck up that bad.

I have the original Nintendo Wii which I modded recently. I understand that the Wii Mini was a budget console so the SD card slot and wifi was removed. Obviously there's no Nintendo GameCube support either starting with the Wii Family Edition. I personally wouldn't bother with a Wii Mini but I do like that even that console is able to be modded, despite not being able to connect to the internet.

uk viewer here - for some reason the wii mini is currently more expensive to buy than a regular wii despite all of the shortcomings of it. by like double the price. avg wii price around here is between £25-30 while i've seen most wii minis going for like £60
I guess that's because the Wii mini wasn't a huge success, so they were unpopular and now the collectors are coming and looking for it because they're more rare. IMHO the Wii mini flopped by multiple causes, one thing was the launch date, they've initially launched it in canada around 2-3 weeks after the Wii U, in germany and the UK it launched in march, I'm sure some early adaptors of the Wii U already began to sell off their old Wii for a lower price than a new Wii mini (and I guess the "street price" of "fat" Wiis wasn't so far above the Wii mini's MSRP. Around the same time Sony and Microsoft also launched a third version/iteration of their consoles: the PS3 Super Slim and the Xbox 360 E (which resembled the upcoming Xbox One "VCR") and the Super Slim is also cheaped in comparison to the PS3 Slim mainly with a top-loading drive and the 12 GB version who used that flash storage instead of an expensive hard drive all PS3s had before by default and the Xbox 360 E has one USB Port less than the 360S (four instead of five) and no S/PDIF (however it still outputs digital audio via HDMI), but that's it, they still have full network functionality and also can use their optional Kinect and Move. I just took a look at Kleinanzeigen (German Craigslist), Wii (and filtered with "consoles") within a radius of 200 kilometres: over 3000 results, also still a lot of games between that despite the category but also Wii Us, so I say 2000 results; then I've searched for "Wii Mini" in the same area and just get 60 results, yes, some of these are
The Wii mini can actually use Wi-Fi just not out of the box. Nintendo left the the connector on the motherboard for a wireless card you just have to get one and then install it and it has to be modded to take advantage of the wireless card.

Everyone and their mother already had a Wii and this thing came out at around the same timeframe *as the WiiU*. Which even tho the Wiiu failed, it still demolished this in sales for obvious reasons.
They were probably thinking about adding Internet and SD Card support considering the contacts are still on the motherboard. More than likely some exec meddling had them remove it last minute to thwart hackers
WOW! that tv brought back long forgotten memories of my ass in the class watching some documentary on those old cheap CRT televisions and briefcase styled VHS player. those things had so bad speaker housings that basically anything louder than gentle talking voice would make the whole thing resonate. quite a feat from RCA to replicate that on thin lcd, with small lcd tv speakers.
I genuinely got so fucking hyped up when you installed Art of Balance. That alongide Liight and And Yet It Moves (and maybe a few other games I can't remember) would make the perfect collection.
My niece had a Wii Mini that she get for Chritmas in 2014 or 2015. We bought it just to see if she was into videogames. But no, she did not liked it )altough we bought many games like Disney Princess, Fit, someadventures, etc). Long story short, when the console was to be throwed away, I got it. Happily, around that time, the BlueBomb was new and I took a chance to install it and hack the console. I did it and found many games that I backed up on a 500Mb WD Passport USB 3 external HDD. And that is all I did, no SD card mod, no WiFi, nothing. It works well, I did not noticed to be slower when ran from USB HDD than the DVD. And for GameCube compatibility, I do not care as I have two GameCube consoles. I am a PS2 fan, and I have 8 PS2 consoles (slim, fat and a SONY PS2 TV) in my collection plus one modded to make it portable; that in addition to few PS1 and PS3. For me, WII with its strange controller, is just a curiosity. However, I enjoyed Zelda, Mario and some other fun games and I am glad to have that little one in my collection.
Not a lot of people know this, but there is a way to install channels officially on the Wii mini. Only a few though. Games like Mario kart Wii have extra channels you can download like the Mario kart channel but stuff like that is useless because no wifi on Wii mini. mabey you can connect the usb adapter though.
I remember long before there were legit methods of homebrewing the actual Wii U menu, most people would just do the vWii with an in-game exploit like Smash Stack for Brawl since they patched Letterbomb
Something that's funny is that on the homebrew browser thares an app called wii mini ethernet adapter enabler bur you need an wifi connection on your wii to use the himebrew broser

I own a GCN compatible Wii and a Mini. The mini is missing the ribbon cable to the power button (making it unusable) And while my regular Wii has the homebrew launcher, I'm too stupid to figure out how to play 'backups' on it
Bro 3 D Pinball works on the Wii it's just that you need the game file from a Windows XP installation the recent crash because it' is missing the files from the game and it couldn't load or start.

I love how they removed the gamecube game icon on the mini, but didn't bother to for the family edition. Nintendo makes some weird decisions

I have seen the Wii Mini in several shops over here in the EU when it was still up for sale.

those things had so bad speaker housings that basically anything louder than gentle talking voice would make the whole thing resonate.
quite a feat from RCA to replicate that on thin lcd, with small lcd tv speakers.
I genuinely got so fucking hyped up when you installed Art of Balance. That alongide Liight and And Yet It Moves (and maybe a few other games I can't remember) would make the perfect collection.

My niece had a Wii Mini that she get for Chritmas in 2014 or 2015. We bought it just to see if she was into videogames. But no, she did not liked it )altough we bought many games like Disney Princess, Fit, someadventures, etc). Long story short, when the console was to be throwed away, I got it. Happily, around that time, the BlueBomb was new and I took a chance to install it and hack the console. I did it and found many games that I backed up on a 500Mb WD Passport USB 3 external HDD. And that is all I did, no SD card mod, no WiFi, nothing. It works well, I did not noticed to be slower when ran from USB HDD than the DVD. And for GameCube compatibility, I do not care as I have two GameCube consoles.
I am a PS2 fan, and I have 8 PS2 consoles (slim, fat and a SONY PS2 TV) in my collection plus one modded to make it portable; that in addition to few PS1 and PS3. For me, WII with its strange controller, is just a curiosity. However, I enjoyed Zelda, Mario and some other fun games and I am glad to have that little one in my collection.
I absolutely love the wii mini design so I'm gonna be getting one and trying to make it usable as a plain ol' wii via injecting an ethernet profile

Not a lot of people know this, but there is a way to install channels officially on the Wii mini. Only a few though. Games like Mario kart Wii have extra channels you can download like the Mario kart channel but stuff like that is useless because no wifi on Wii mini. mabey you can connect the usb adapter though.
well you can use a classic controller or a HID controller to play gamecube games
ps3 and ps4 controllers also work
playing ttyd on more or less native hardware using a PS4 controller was a fucking trip for me

Something that's funny is that on the homebrew browser thares an app called wii mini ethernet adapter enabler bur you need an wifi connection on your wii to use the himebrew broser
I was just attempting this earlier, gave up on the step with the sync button. Got on my damn nerves, never connected.
Edit: Got it working, something was up with my bluetooth on linux but whatever it was I fixed it.
