I think i want to see you go or do whatever you enjoy because, honestly, for me, watching while you walk and explorer and talk, makes me feel like I'm with a friend and that i am not all but bedridden 85% of my time. When you really love the place you're in your voice and face just radiates happiness.
I’m half Japanese and my parents owned a home in Yamate-cho in the bluffs of Yokohama. My Mom who is 88 sold the house and moved to a condo in Atami. Truthfully I wish she hadn’t because Yokohama is my favorite Japanese city......I live in Northern California and we are struggling horrible wildfires, heat, and Covid19 .... so it was so wonderful following along on your walk through Yokohama. PLEASE return soon! Don’t forget Chinatown! At dark times like this in the U.S. ... watching you is like a fantasy. Thank you!!!
Lived in the military housing in the East Bluff area from 1967 to 1970. Loved the place. Dad was stationed in Atsugi and we lived in military housing in Yokohama. Went to high school @ Nile C. Kinnick AKA Yo-Hi. Still have B/W photos of the Bay from our house. Looks like the area is now a rose garden with fountains.
I keep nice memories of Yokohama. We wanted to visit the beautiful wooden pier designed by a Spanish architect, Alejandro Zaera. We had lunch in the Chinese quarter, that we were told it was the biggest in Japan, and ended that evening having a drink on the pier looking at Minato Mirai with one of the most beautiful red sunsets I’ve ever seen. It was like 15 years ago and I wish I’ll go back there some day.
I just recently found this channel and TabiEats and just wanted to say I am having an absolute blast watching all the old videos and seeing new ones pop up makes my heart jump! Thank you for making these, they have all made me so happy!!! The wind/baby/dog noises actually are comforting to me. I live out in the country now after living in a city my whole life. I miss it. You took me today and made me so happy to hear city noise!
I have been to Japan three times and I've always wanted to visit Yokohama so thank you for showing me the beautiful area it's definitely a must see when travelling if safe again, you mentioned in this video about Teddy's burgers. I've had Teddy's burgers in Waikiki and I don't think they're that great. In Australia we have the best burgers in the whole world. The club sandwich looked amazing
Would love a Yokohama bike video. This looks like a place I'd love to check out the next time I visit. Thank you again my favorite Japanese tour host Shinichi.
honestly the wind sound wasn't bad and kind of added to the environment- when you can't hear that kind of stuff it is easy to forget you are walking through a place with its own weather, sounds, smells, etc. I rather liked it
Here in the UK, we are in the start of autumn. The leaves are turning yellow, red and brown. The conkers are dropping from the trees and the cold and rain is moving in on us (more rain than sun.
I love Shinichi's spontaneous energy, not checking beforehand then go to a place to find it closed. That's a life I can relate to, and it's funny. That Marine & Walk place is so beautiful and chic. It seems like a great place for dates, or just relaxing. I love the seaside atmosphere.
Oh, that took me back. The World Science Fiction Convention was in Yokohama in 2007, and we arrived at our hotel - the one that looks like a big sail - really early and our room was not ready. We left our bags there and wandered around that fairground, going on the big wheel, and in World Porters, which was all food back then. I remember young women working at a Cold Stone Creamery singing Disney songs! Later in the trip, we went to the Red Brick building, too. I must get back to Japan when it becomes possible again.
What a beautiful day in Yokohama! Such a wide-open feeling where you were and I could almost smell the ocean! I loved the Marine and Walk mall--it's so much fun poking around in places like that. I would very much like to see Hawaiian Town. I'm nostalgic too, and any place that has a feeling of aloha makes me happy. Thanks for bringing us along today, Shinichi!
I think it's so amazing how incredibly crisp and clean and the air is in such a large city. And how beautifully landscaped and how much care goes into the general surroundings. We don't have that where I live. Just another reason I need to get to Japan. You have a thoughtful eye when it comes to backdrops
Thank You for sharing. I'm 58 & I will never be able to travel to Japan. Through your videos I get to see all that Japan offers. I love how detailed You & Your partner explain the food. You both are so good at this. GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️ Thank You for experiencing Tokyo. From a a lady who has been Married 40ty years to my wonderful husband who doesn't travel. A VIEWER from West-Central INDIANA FARMLAND USA 🇺🇸🚜
Now that’s a sandwich. 🥪 I want to explore Yokohama more when I can visit again, so this will be something to check out. Seeing the Cup Noodle Museum again made me smile. Being able to go there a couple of years ago is such a good memory.
Thank you Shinichi for a wonderful walk around Yokohama! I have told you before how much I love your walk abouts and your commentary about what you are observing. These walks are quite therapeutic to me as they improve my mood incredibly. 😊👍. I am looking forward to you coming back to Yokohama and showing us the Hawaiin area in the mall. Now, as usual, I must run to my kitchen and prepare a late lunch as you have definitely stimulated my appetite 🤣. Say hi to Satoshi, give Justin a gentle pat on his head and have a great weekend. ❤🛫🙏🌎
Good morning from New Zealand Shinichi , it's 6.27am and I'm loving the vlog .Yokohama is such a clean and beautiful city . Love the look of that sandwich , really enjoyed your reaction towards the dog and baby . 😎
I made my decision to move to Hawaii after eating at the Teddy's inside World Porters. I was in Japan trying to decide if I should move from Florida to Hawaii and I took it as a sign from God that it was a good move. I bet myself that if Teddy's was very good, I would move. It was and a month later I was in Honolulu. The Tabieats videos of Hawaii were also a big influence so thanks Shinichi.
I am in florida in the usa and tomorrow it will be cooler than it has been at 80 f in the morning with 76% humidity...which is a nice break though by noon it will be 84 f and feel like 92 f because of humidity...
Thank you 🙏 so much Shinichi for going to Yokohama. Yes please can you go back? If there is a historic side of the city it would great to see it. We ♥ the Kua Aina lava 🌋 grilled burgers 🍔 in the UK. ✌️ 💖 🙏 Levent 🦁
Shinichi, it's becoming pretty chilly here in New Jersey, U.S.A. Fall season will begin soon. I actually love it!!!💞 Yes!! Your hair looks just fine😄😍👍🏼
Enjoyed this video. Hopefully you can go back and show us that little Hawaiian Village. I’m so happy that you are able to travel again, even if it’s within Japan. We all have to satisfy the travel bug in us. Take care and looking forward to all your upcoming videos in all your channels. 😘🤗
Yessssss, World Porters! Another one of my favourite places to go too when we’re in Yokohama cause of the Hawaiian town too 😊 Thanks again for another great video ✌🏼 Ack! I responded too soon... too bad it’s closed! I’m still watching though haha I love the other places you visited in the video! A definite must next time I’m in Yokohama.. thanks for this!
Hi hi! Oh looks nice, The Marine and walk...lot's of herbs! Wow look at all that rosemary! Oh pie for dinner! Yes!! That mall is very interesting. Club sandwich? I've never had a club sandwich with onion and eggs. It looks delicious, not matter what it is. A good sandwich is a good sandwich. Yes, please I would love to see the Hawaiian mall! That would be fun!
I’m enjoying visiting Yokohama with you @shinichi!! Is the bike rental app tourist-friendly? We loved renting bikes and exploring in Fukuoka and Kyoto!
So weird I checked the google map.. Intercontinental Grand is way over with tall big white building that look like sail . The Continental Hotel by Hammerhead he mentioned is too small for 5 stars rating . Maybe I might be wrong . Still i love his walks
Hi Shinichi, my day just started hope you're doing good and Satoshi. The town I live in here in California has been dealing with some really terrible air quality due to the wildfires in mountains east of here for a few weeks now. I don't know how much of the fires are contained but hopefully we can finally get some rain soon. We've had a very dry year.
It’s been SO long since I’ve been. Last time I was there was 97/98. It’s so exciting to see you there and see you visit places :) Be well and take care!

Looks fun! I was in japan last winter and visited red brick but didn’t know about Marina walk! Can’t wait to check it out again. By the way. The intercontinental is around $150 us a night currently! Check it out and review please!
Good save brother, just wish it was a little quieter for you while you enjoyed your lunch. Cool to see the fish jumping too! They also jump if there's insects on the surface of the water..my pond fish do that, so my pond is covered with a net. LOL Oh BTW, we're having a heatwave in CA...100* where I live on the coast! 😰
I know a lot of museums were closed on Monday. Please go back to Hawaii town. I want to know more about that culture. Did you like Moana or Lilo and Stitch?
Next time you should visit the Japanese Migration Museum near the Cup of Noodles Museum. It shows the migration of the Japanese people to North America by prefecture.. There are also artifacts from the Nikki abroad.
With the poor dog yapping and the child screaming it sounded like you were in a mall in the US. Not gonna lie, when the kid screamed my ears were blasted as I always wear earbuds while on TH-cam. 😆
It's 1:20am and watching this video is making me hungry. That club sandwich looks so good!
The sandwich and fries looked amazing!
Since the first time I went to Yokohama, I really fell in love with this city. Thanks for sharing your video and the walk!

Great transformation from the old to the new. A bit nostalgic for the old but time marches on. Will visit the city once travelling is easier.

That is the most amazing club sandwich I have ever seen!
honestly the wind sound wasn't bad and kind of added to the environment- when you can't hear that kind of stuff it is easy to forget you are walking through a place with its own weather, sounds, smells, etc. I rather liked it
Sandwich looks great! And indeed the wind doesn't bother me much, adds to the atmosphere of the place!

Was suppose to be in Yokohama next month 😭. Hopefully we can go next year.
I’m enjoying visiting Yokohama with you @shinichi!! Is the bike rental app tourist-friendly? We loved renting bikes and exploring in Fukuoka and Kyoto!
I didn't realize how cool Yokohama was, now I regret not taking a day trip when I was in Tokyo.
I hope you get the chance to visit there too. I'd love to visit Japan.
Nellie K. Adaba You should! I was there for 45 days last time, and I did not want to go home at all.

did you fix that sign that fell? (it miraculously resurrected LOL )
Satoshi and Justin missed out on a tasty lunch and trip to Yokohama. You better fix them a special dinner for all their hard work cleaning.
I love how people in Japan just do the right thing, no law is needed for people to treat others with dignity.
Shinichi : Great day In Michigan U S A. Finally starting to be fall like out.
With the poor dog yapping and the child screaming it sounded like you were in a mall in the US. Not gonna lie, when the kid screamed my ears were blasted as I always wear earbuds while on TH-cam. 😆
The sandwich looks great, but is my hair okay? lmao.
