I really like your street walks and i follow them on Google Maps / Street View simultaneously which is great fun. "Oh this is the same vending machine Shinichi just passed" or "this looks completely different althought it is the same spot". I love it.
The place is beautiful, I love that you stray down little side streets and don't keep to the beaten path. It's so natural for you to do and you never know what hidden gems you will find. Follow were your heart takes you and please don't apologise for being you, we love it, thats why we subscribed. 🤗 🤗 🤗
My father and I were in Kyoto in the 1970s, and it's heartening to see how little some of it has changed. When we were there they still were washing out the dyed fabric for kimono in the Kamo River, with long streamers of fabric waving in the current. It was magical.
Wow ! 00:30 The most famous motorbike in the world. 25:01= The Honda Cub. 18:32 colorful balloons temple? 17:3519:44 Awesome Pagoda. 22:21 Yasaka-no-To Pagoda of the Honkanji Temple. 20:23 Maybe next time we can see a better shot of the rickshaw. 20:52 Reminds me of a friend from the Nitta clan who was into the ceramic/pottery art. I really wondered why his tea cups/bowls were so expensive. 24:56 I guess in a lot of countries, the combi of shopsdownstairs and living quarters upstairs is traditional. Thanks for this vid.
Last year when we went to Kyoto we stayed in THAT neighborhood. We went to that market “happy rhokura” everyday! The food was so inexpensive And we felt like a local. Thank you for being back memories of our Kyoto home (for one week) you walked right by the house we rented :) (and the price was right ). You MUST find the starbucks. It is in an old house. Very traditional. Take off your shoes and have a tea. Or coffee It has to be the coolest starbucks on the planet Maybe in the next video it was right near where you stopped. Thankyou thank you for being back memories for me and my family.
Thank you so much Shinichi for this awesome walking tour! My plans to stay in Kyoto were cancelled in May due to the pandemic, and it's so great to see it
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a tour of beutiful Kyoto! I LOVE the area and would be a dream to be a resident over there. So...ambient and calm. I LOVE the little shop you passed by with the handmade baskets. I would definitely buy one and use it as a handbag!
Thank you for filming this street tour! I've been really enjoying your Osaka/Kyoto videos on this channel and I Will Always Travel for Food. I have barely left my home in the past 7 months, so this feels like virtual travel!
Hello from England, once again a nice e video I found it relaxing, I have missed a few of your last videos because I have been working very hard trying to catch up with things and when I get home I just wonted to sleep so I will catch up on your hard work to put these videos up for us to see , everywhere in Japan is beautiful and interesting so enjoyable, hope youstop to have refreshments, I actually bought some Japanese bowls last week in a market in the town which have stores from different parts of the world, thank you but please stop for a drink dont wear your self out , take care and keep safe 💗 💓 💖 😘 💜
You were really catching your breath there 😊 been in that area 3x,and I should say it looks far more beautiful now that there are no people. It looks serene. Thank you for this video.
Thank you so much for this wonderful walking tour on the way to the temple. I was in Japan many, many years ago and travelled to Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, and many other small villages. I have loved Asia and on the Japan trip I also went to Taiwan and Hong Kong and stayed for 3 weeks in Hawaii to get used to the US hours. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. This walk makes me want to go back to see all the changes in Japan. By the way, Kyoto was my favorite city by far. Can hardly wait for the next video of the temple.
I loved, loved, loved watching this video with you. We always stay in rental houses in Higashiyama and walk everywhere when we visit Kyoto, so this was so much fun for me. You even stumbled upon a dear little clothing store where we bought summer Yukata once. I believe it's near Kawai Kanjiro's house. Will definitely be watching this video again. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures.
Missing Japan. Thanks to your Vlogs, I feel like I am visiting again even with this pandemic still preventing us from travelling. I hope you continue to do more Vlogs like this. I am a big fan.
Kyoto is beautiful! Hopefully the local tourist board can figure out a way to promote other areas surrounding kyoto to have people get out and away from the typical spots so the city doesnt become an over-touristed area again. I can imagine the kyoto residents loving the peace and quiet for now, even though businesses are struggling due to the pandemic.
02:53 you're right If you walk or ride a bike in a new city, you will discover so much more. It's a completely different experience. We stayed in the K's hostel and walked from there to all the sights east and south-east of there. Also in Tokyo and Hiroshima we discovered so many places that we would probably never have seen otherwise.
Really love watching your street walks videos. So relaxing. Looking forward to more videos from Kyoto. Thanks for sharing what’s going on in Japan. Really big difference from when I was in Kyoto two years ago.
I really enjoyed this walking tour. I love it when you stop and show us what's on offer in the shops. I also loved seeing the residences. I was impressed by the streets themselves, the pavers and stones looked so nice. I hope you'll do more walking tours and show us more shops and things. Oh, and this was the perfect length video. Thank you.
Wow I just went to that Keys Cafe near the pagoda last January. So lucky to be able to visit just before the whole crazy things happened. Is it just coincidence you end this video just next to the very cool Starbucks? 😆😆😆
I would be in all the pottery shops. I LOVE pottery! If I had more room, I would have a lot! Lol.... Kyoto is beautiful. I love all the beautiful old buildings. Thank you so much for sharing!
in the last 5 minutes of the video, I saw the pagoda and the road, I got a very good photo out of it since it was in the afternoon and after raining, so no one there (on my first visit, my 2nd visit it was very crowded)
I love to see walks even if they are residential areas. It gives us a stroll thru Japan. It’s always interesting. It’s the perfect time for you to visit tourist sites since the pandemic is keeping the crowds down. I remember walking back to my hotel from Nishiki market in Kyoto and came upon some random shops that were wonderful. Kyoto is beautiful and I strongly recommend just walking thru areas off the main streets.
Today is the day I should have been beginning my 7 week visit to Japan so feeling a bit sad watching this 😢😢😢 - I have so many things on my list and thanks to you Shinichi, the colourful temple just got added (Yasaka Koshindo) I have been to Kyomizu Dera twice (cherry blossom and autumn) My plan was to be in the area to check out the pottery shops but it looks like my third visit will have to wait 😢I just rewrote my trip calendar for the same time 2021! At least I can "visit" with you. Trouble is Shinichi, you keep giving me new places to add to my list. By the time I get to Japan I will have to stay for FOURTEEN weeks!
Yes I know they tone down the colours to like chocolate and black in Kyoto Even the times parking sign white not bright yellow!!! @15:08 great spotting shinichi!!!!👍🏻
I had the feeling of doing sightseeing, first idea is going to X place but going wherever the eyes catch something interesting. I realle love your videos!
Just LOVE KYOTO, spent a lot of time here Walking all over but missed this area, looks amazing, I have a map of Kyoto & in English which is in valuable. Thank you so much for this will come here soon as its possible. You do a fantastic job. I walked about 20 miles around Kyoto Every day it's a must, you must check out Philosophers walk it's so beautiful. Take care keep up your great work✌🌞🌟💐⛩🎎🧁🍰🍹👍🙂😊
Hi Shinichi, I really enjoyed that walk with you, the only difference is that I wasn't as breathless as you were, in fact going backward at times to what I've observed and break it down. At 4:24 of the video, I saw like a traffic enforcer (or is he) in blue uniform at the corner of a street where it's not a busy road at all and then another one at 11:58. Why is that? 9:07, yes, I agree with you, I too would love to have breakfast there, good vibes. 10:15 I love that basket nice piece of handiwork and at 21:15 yes, those pottery of cups and bowls are divine, and I love the color. I would have bought a set and it's on sale, price not bad! Did you manage to buy? The make of it is like your green favorite cup which I remember in one of your vlog.
I have cousin in SF and I've been there and the hills are quite bumpy. I didn't learn Kanji either but learned from music. Thank you for the beautiful vid.like walking too. When you get old you can't be able to walk like teenage days
The pagoda at Hōkan-ji Temple is a sight to behold. I miss Kyoto quite a bit - it’s such a beautiful city. Though, I think I will avoid visiting it in summertime, like I did last year. Even for this Vegas native, the Kyoto heat is not to be trifled with. 🥵
Shinichi-san. I like this style of first person experience video you are doing. It gives a more personal touch while introducing the lesser popular streets.
Appreciate you doing this! As if I am in Japan too. I was so sad that out flight got postponed due to the virus so this really helps a lot and might just be added to our itinerary once this corona virus is overrr
Gosh Kyoto is so pretty. I hope you could also tour us around the locals shops and back alleys on your next video. I love this walking videos, it feels like I am also there walking around the area. Question though are all the shrine & temple open for tourist? How do we know if we can enter or not?
@@Shinichisworld Thank you Shinichi! Btw, I saw your Asian Boss interview with Satoshi again. The first time I’ve watched the video I didn’t know who you guys are yet, so I was surprised when the video resurfaced in my feed and saw you and Satoshi. It was a very informative, thank you for sharing your story.
Hey thanks for bringing me back here. I was here last year September though it was very hot but I did enjoy Kyoto. I miss the food trip and shopping at the Teramachi. The Starbucks in Gion district near Yazaka pagoda was so cool. I miss Kyoto!!
Would be fun traveling with you. I too love to look at every designs and decors of stores, cafes, as well as look at trinkets, etc....And love to discover and get lost in side streets and alleyways.
I would love to travel Japan with you.... Miss it already from Hawaii, it's been almost a year since I came to Japan where I visited Tokyo area, Yokohama and Hakone.

Please film more walking videos

The tall pagoda is Hōkan-ji Temple - Yasaka-no-Tou 法観寺 八坂の塔
Beautiful
Shinichi-san. I like this style of first person experience video you are doing. It gives a more personal touch while introducing the lesser popular streets.

that's a bucket list location for sure, i was lucky enough to go to Italy i doubt i can go to japan though ;-;
Although the tourist traffic is really light, the cars and trucks are still crazy heavy. 😂
We stayed there and we couldn’t stop laughing as our taxi driver insisted in dropping us off right in front of our Airbnb The road was so narrow
When Japan will in person medical conference resume? Will it be in summer 2020?
WOW, like NYC clean! lol.
What's the name of that open air restaurant? I wanna go there✨✨
You have so many TH-cam channels. Which ones are the current ones.
6:20 hmm, why are there tourists around still not wearing masks? lol
I really like your haircut you look very handsome.

I'm in a similar boat. I've lived most of my life in North America, so my kanji is poor at best :(
"Sorry. I'm having a... stroke or something." I would be having heat stroke from being out there in a mask and doing all that walking, too.
Did we miss a live stream
