Thank you so much to Sherry for joining this time [channel linked in description]!! -- DID YOU HAVE A FAVORITE SPOT?
And massive thanks to Klook for existing and for backing this vid! Use them to book all your Japan needs for your next trip! (bit.ly/things-to-do-in-japan-klook)
Thanks Norm for taking me on an exciting night journey! Being out past last trains was so much more fun than I thought🤩
I really love this night videos. It's always nice to see you hang out with friends. ❤❤
The kaiju sized traffic cone was my highlight for the video.
Favorite spots on this one: red torii shrine - think I have it pinned already - and Asakusa Sumida colors. That night view on the water is one of my all-time favorites. I don't think we were in Tokyo, but my BIL has won an extra drink from one of those vending machines, so not scammy but rare. 😅 😂
I have actually won free sodas, cigarettes and ice cream from the vending machines. I might need a serious intervention about my vending machine addiction?
the old couple dancing together in the middle of the night omg 🥹
Not gonna lie I love both Norm and Sherry. And their collaboration videos are my absolute favorite ones. Love you guys!
Thanks so much!
I only got here recently (during the rebuild of that small electronics shop) and it feels like I've known them both so long already. It just feels so natural!
@@Giftedbryan Yeah literally me too !!
Yeah you guys are great together. Love watching you spar.
Its always something special to just go out in the middle of the night for a bike ride. The cool wind and empty streets just feel magical. It can either feel like cyberpunk or silent hill depending on where you live lol
I think I just need to do a whole vid on night cycling lol
Always love your night walk series but this time you are with Sherry and I really enjoyed Sherry’s point of views with her fresh eyes on Tokyo and your stories about each areas of Tokyo! Thank you for the great video Norm!😆
Yuka San~ Always such kind comments! Thank you!!
I just took a look and saw you dropped a pretty cool video today too!! I want that vending machine in my studio now!! haha
Thank you always for the kind words~
The couple dancing was so adorable and unique. Out of everything that I heard and seen about random events happening late night in tokyo, this is my first time hearing and seeing one like this.
I love night adventures. Japan is magical at night.🌠😊
always my favorites!!
Ghost in the Shell vibes :) I was so close to visiting it one point. I had experience with modeling and in 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit this Japan... Great channel!
Hey Norm. Your channel is a bright spot in a sea of darkness. Thank you for the positive content and wholesome experiences. I appreciate you.
that is too kind~ Thank you so much
I loovee your night time crawls around Japan, the country really is something else when it's not crowded. Amazing video Norm and Sherry ❤
Mr. Norm , THANK YOU SO MUCH , for your videos. I have always wanted to go to Japan, but due to a 7-year battle with cancer , I am home bound. Your videos are my only way to experience the beauty of Japan. Thank you so much .Please keep the videos coming ❤
Stay strong brother💪 If you've been fighting it for so long, i'm sure you'll beat it once and for all someday ! I hope one day you have the chance to experience Japans beauty yourself❤️
Between the railway and the bridge for cars/pedestrians in the finale is my favorite place during the morning and evening twilight.
Especially at evening twilight in autumn, the shrine hidden in the park gets a beautiful lighting atmosphere.
Another great video that illustrates the lure and charisma of Tokyo. It's not the busy tourist areas that make it unique but the smaller quiet neighborhoods when all the people are gone.
I'm japanese but I was born and raised in germany until last year when I moved to tokyo.
as someone who lived in the countryside I was yearning for peace and solitude so I started going out cycling at Edogawa River past midnight between Koiwa and Ichikawa and I love how for that moment I'm truly alone (until you find out that some people are still around)
the quiet night, the strolls... awesome video man!!! glad your still making things of tokyo not yet explored!
gotta stick with what you love!!
I'll have to watch later, but I LOVE nighttime walks. They can be so relaxing.
always the most fun!!
When we visited Tokyo this summer , some of our most cherished memories were of walking the streets of Asakusa late at night .
i took a brief 2am walk around Tamachi, after not being able to sleep, and the serenity is astonishing, and i never felt worried at any point, i wish i could go back
I saw the big traffic cone and immediately thought of Majima fron the Yakuza series 🤣🤣🤣
I gotta get on those games lol
@@TokyoLensyou'll love it!! It's wacky lol
Née hee hee Kiryu-chan!
@@Erenzilable 😆🖤🌸
I love a Sherry and Norm video. There isn't much more fun than traveling the streets at night feeling like you own the city because you're one of the few wandering around.
I was just rewatching your tiny apartment videos and got the notification for this video, perfect timing! Gotta love the nighttime vibes of Tokyo! The stars in the sky and the return of the giant red pylon surprised me as well, but especially the stars. That is something I would have bet money on not being able to see in Tokyo at night.
those night time vibes just hit different
it still amazes me just HOW MUCH Tokyo empties out~
It's still amazing to see how well illuminated Tokyo is even after midnight.
its 100% the camera lol
i agree with everything! haven’t been to tokyo since 2019 but i enjoyed the night time the most. you can see everything without crowds and nighttime photography rules!
night is king!
That couple dancing in the street is just 🥰
getting call of the night (anime) vibes, amazing video!
Every time I see a post from you. I start missing japan all over again.
So cool to see another night walk/ride in Tokyo video, Norm and Sherri!!
gotta do more bike stuff!!
Thanks for showing us sunrise from Tokyo. I am sure it is nice to show Sherry all the interesting sights you have discovered after living in Tokyo and re-experiencing it through her excitement and wonder. Great video, always enjoy Sherry's energy when she comes along for the video.
YESSS I love these night exploration videos so much, I'm visiting very soon (on the 25th) and looking forward to doing these night walks
Glad you like them! They are definitely my favorites~
I think the fact that both Norm and Mudan chose the area roughly between Akiba and the Sumida River for their all-night walks/biking vids speaks to the value of West(?) Tokyo. It's a great area and is why in my last five trips to Tokyo I always stayed in Okachimachi.
There is something special about the city, de-energized overnight. Have experienced this in NYC, Tokyo, and London alike. I lived in Tokyo for some years and enjoyed the quiet late night stroll without the noise, heat, and lights, in spite of living in shibuya-ku.. Rivers are really beautiful at night, particularly with the reflection of lighting from other sources. Sumida-gawa is one of the few rivers in Tokyo where can enjoy the night lights. Many of the other rivers have embankments, channels, or buffer zones, making them completely or nearly dark at night.
Love your work - artistic and often carrying a fascinating narrative. When I move back to Japan permanently, hope to bump into you sometime.
This was great, Norm! We stayed in Ginza back in January and can confirm it's still busy late at night. We loved the Kobinis being open as late, though haha 😀
crazy at night eh?
mind you conbini are pretty much 24h country wide!! (with a few exceptions of course!)
I LOVE this! I always go for late night walks when I'm in Japan. You see so many amazing things!
Theses Night Adventures are Awesome and you picked the perfect companion .Sherry is a Gem.
When I go to Japan next September, this is a big motivator for me, night exploration and daytime side street exploration
Would sometimes get chance to wander around when over for work. So often would happen across random local events. The graduation display for fireworks students was one of the more interesting. Just followed the sounds and ended up at sumida river on a week night for fried noodles and random fireworks
sounds like amazing memories!!
Awesome exploring Tokyo at night, great for night photography and much less crowded. Always love your walks and exploring the vast range of Japan, your videos helped motivate me to move to Japan, I arrive in a few months and I'm now looking forward to exploring Tokyo at night myself.
I love night walks. There's just something about big cities at night. Especially in a city like Tokyo with all of the lights.
so nice to have sherry along! hope to see more night walks or day with the two of you!
Night walk and photography still on the to be done experiences list. Now to see what new places I need to add to that list. Have a great week, Norm. 💜✌️🐦
I should hold a Tokyo Night Walk event haha
Always love seeing a night walk, the city is amazing and full of surprises at all hours. “Garbage o’clock” got me 😂😂 It was great to see Sherry again too!! One of the few people who has no trouble keeping up with Norm!
Tokyo after last train is delightful. Love to see my favorite area of Tokyo again. I miss shimbashi.
I would love to take a night time stroll via bicycle ride around Tokyo. It looks so serene and quiet. Stars looks so bright! A different perspective look. Something to consider for the next trip. Thanks Norm and Sherry!
This video was a whole vibe! Beautifully chill and the music was really complimentary ❤
Always love walking around Japan at night, always something to see or do! Would love to see an Osaka version if you're ever in the area. Thanks for sharing Norm!
lol likely won't ever do an Osaka version
too obnoxious and noisy hahaha
Great video as always. Your content is one of the reasons I'm striving to live in Japan. Thank you and keep up the great work.
I'm with Sherry, Akihariba is probably my favourite, but where you were walking after that under the over pass has a great little Artists Collective Galleries and stall/market, it's no peaceful and pretty during the busy day (it's Nakakachiichi dori I think - having done a quick google search), we stayed nearer Kuramae and so were walking back and forth around those back streets all the time and the thing I think I like the most about Tokyo was that COMPLETE silence and emptiness in those streets even mid afternoon and the juxtapose of the buildings the ultra modern next to an old almost Post House is great. Lastly when you got to the river you were near Sumida River there is a hostel called Nui with a great bar in reception where you can get a litre of Mojito!
I always love to watch your night tokyo videos i wanna move to japan when im older and this really motivates me!
Gotta try this myself sometime in the future. That dancing couple was so nice to see.
always love the videos with sherry, she compliments your style
Somehow managed to catch this in the first hour without the notification. Tokyo by Night (especially when there’s no one) is great. Very peaceful
I love watching these videos and figuring out where you went based on the signs and such. Hopefully it'll help Japan feel less unfamiliar if/when I can travel there.
I've always been afraid to be caught out after last train while in Tokyo. Unless I'm staying within walking distance of where I'm at. I truly enjoy watching your night walks and just might dedicate a night on my next trip
it can be peaceful if you stick to safe areas!
I truly enjoy watching your videos. I really like the b-roll footage in 4K. Tokyo is stunning.
Tokyo at night is a truly special kind of atmosphere, enjoyed the video a lot. Also great music choice!
Looking forward to seeing you both again! Thanks for the night time tour!
Amazing, Thanks Norm and Sherry for the wonderful night tour of Tokyo 🙌👏. You certainly couldn’t have done that in most similar size cities in North America 🌎. Brings back memories of some of the times I explored German cities at night 🇩🇪 while stationed with the US Army in Heidelberg 👍
so late and eerily devoid of life at night. Maybe the only sign of life there is a Tim Horton's open in Tokyo serving piping hot coffee and freshly baked donuts!
lol I'd pay double for a crappy timmies here in Tokyo lol
Just like you mentioned, I never would've thought you could see many stars in Tokyo. Actually so cool that you can
its strange and beautiful!
I think a lot of my favorite night walking locations are in the wintertime, with the holiday lights. Harajuku up Omotesando to Aoyama. Ebisu through the Garden Place, to Meguro...
Sherry is absolutely adorable! More of her on the channel please!
Love the vibes of this one.
Wow, I love the unique perspective of this video. As often as I am in Tokyo, my brain always told me "Don't miss the last train!" and never thought of experiencing Tokyo in the wee hours. Such a cool experience - pretty much something that you can never do in the US without be being accosted, robbed or shot. Also, the big difference of the people sleeping in the streets of Tokyo are that most are people that just imbibed too much, and are not homeless or addicts. The vast majority will sober up the next morning and go back to their jobs as productive citizens.
missing the last train can be spectacular if you play your cards right!
Fun to see a native Japanese person's reaction to another aspect of their country's culture!!
Really cool 🤩
Pre-50K peeps like myself know Serry for sure. Always a fun video when she is around.
Your videos walking through Tokyo at night are my favorites!
Thanks for reminding me to pencil in a past midnight akihabara explore session when I am in tokyo later in the year. Also nice to see Sherry too!
I love the late night walks in Tokyo. Last trip I walked from Shiba park to Akihabara at like 3am just because I couldn't sleep!
love that walk!
Also, I saw a super drunk guy hit a curb on a luup scooter the other day and go flying. He got up and seemed to be ok, but it was maybe the loudest non-car crash I've ever heard. He was going full speed. Be careful out there!
ouccchhh
how much longer you around?
@@TokyoLens I'm here until late January!
Love it when a new video drops!
Thanks for being here so early!
Loving the night vibes.
The old buildings that survived the war and the earthquakes are probably infested with termites.
I absolutely adore the rustic charm of the old wooden structures with their engawa and storm shutters, but I'd much rather live in a house made from reinforced concrete with good air conditioning.
I haven't been to Japan since 2010 while the Skytree was under construction. I'd love to come back some day.
Thanks for the video! I would love to do the exact trek for my last 2 nights in Tokyo to readjust my sleeping pattern. I have never seen the sunrise in Tokyo so I will be looking forward to it :)
Good Morning Norm! Thanks for the video!!
yoooo! Thank you~
I love Tokyo at night. Makes it feel like the greatest city in the world. Which it is. 😊
Your videos always seem to capture the vibe of a place. Thanks Norm!
Glad you like them!
thank you so much as always!
Incredible and fascinating knowledge about all of the areas you visit.
Great content.
Will finally be there in November, and one of the things I'm daydreaming about is a nighttime walk to explore the city just like this. Of course I got the idea from one of your older videos. And this one is inspiring me even more. Love it.
gotta get out and do it!!
Awesome views of the city again!
gotta love those quiet city views!
Love it!!!!! Thanks for framing up such a nice experience for us. 😁
I genuinely love everything about your travels in Japan, maybe someday I will follow your path. Soon... soon
you just made my day so much better, thank you 💜
Love it that you and Sherry got out and about in Tokyo at night. Love the giant pylon and the shrine. Random thingies are wonderful. Great video! 😁
Garbage trucks 😅 😅
So cool! Discovering Tokyo with you two at night. Wow, it has been a long time since you and Sherry met. I do remember some of your older videos with her. Good idea to (re)introduce her to us!
THESE are the kind of videos i like to watch, keep it up Norm.
Night cycling is awsome ❤
The Sherry content has been great, thanks to your channel I went and followed her and started watching her content as well. 😄
The moment I saw I had to watch always a W videos keep it up
So great to see you doing this again 😁
Tokyo at night looks lit 🥴 Thanks for showing us around. The clean garbage trucks got me
I've actually won one of those prizes off a vending machine! I was at Osaka late at night and bought a drink. Suddenly the vending machine buttons were lighting up in a celebratory fashion and I was so confused. Then I heard another drink drop down. I ended up looking at the sign on the machine and discovered it was one of those that gave out extra drinks as prizes!
First like! Interesting content like always, thank you!🙏
and I like back! lol
It is my first time watching this type of video. It is great and the night stars 🌃 are amazing.
if you enjoyed it, there's a whole playlist!!
Norm, I just love your unique take on Tokyo. You always give us a different viewpoint of this crazy city.
Your night adventure took me back to 2015 when I visited Japan for the second time and had a night out in Tokyo to pass the time until we went to Tsukiji market to wait in line for the tuna auction.
We went out to dinner with the last train to a place that had an all-night-open restaurant. Then we went to Tsukiji around 3 AM and managed to get in line to wait until 5:20 AM for the auction.
Around 6:30 we were outside and starred the day with the freshest sushi I ever had 😀
I wouldn't do that again but I'd definitely go on an all night tour of Tokyo one day.
Just what I needed .❤
Toyko at night and Norm. An Iconic pair. Also, it seems to me that Norm is not that big on crowds. Can't blame him. But for some reason love the big city of Tokyo.
That is what I call the Norm paradox.
Notification squad up and ready!
Hey Norm!
best
squad
forever!
I miss Akihabara from the late 90's to early 2000's
the golden times of Akiba
I miss the street performances on weekends and all the tech!
Definitely need to do this myself next time I visit Japan! Did not see enough of the night scene because I was always tired after the day trips
I swear, one day I’ll be living in wonderful Japan!
keep at it!! You'll make it here~
Great video!! That was like my last year's first day in Japan. I went to Senso ji temple. I loved walking through alleys because of your videos. BTW, I'll be back in Japan in 5 days for over a month. I hope to bump into you or Sherry. ❤🇯🇵
awsome cant wait to do this in februari ;)
Hope you enjoy it!
