The pink flowers are camellias. They are the same family as the tea bush which is Camellia sinensis.
those feather duster-like plants are called 'pampas grass' if I'm not mistaken

I love walking or riding through fallen leaves, the sound in nature.
My mom taught me to ride a bike when I was 10 and I'm so grateful because it helps me to go around many places where car is impossible. However I can't ride motorbike which is quite frustrating because sometimes it's easier and cheaper to go somewhere with a rented motorbike than a rented car.

Japanese maple is the red maple tree, and the plumey grass is called pampas grass.

If you like learning about Japanese food, look for an anime on here called "Oishinbo" it's about a group of people who work for a newspaper, and review food I think, but every episode I watch, it's like an education on some aspect of Japanese food.

the bike ride is serene and lovely to watch. that park still looks amazing even without the leaves on the trees. it is quite mild for this time of year here in the uk. what a shame you couldnt get a kebab. but the food you did get looks delicious.
Those clumps of grasses are what we call Pampas grass from South America

The grassy plant looks like one that I have here in the states, called pampas grass. It comes in different colors of the puffy parts on the top, but the grassy parts are quite sharp and if you aren't careful it can cut you. It is quite pretty in the fall though when the fluffy parts on the top are in bloom. (:

Tsubaki means Camellia in English, I'm only aware of this name because of "Tsubaki Factory" which is a Japanese girl-group under the Hello!Project entertainment company.

The park is called Showa Kinen Park. I think Central Park might be a bit bigger.

In the UK (I don’t know about anywhere else) back in the day, the pampas grass was a ‘secret’ symbol used to alert others that you were into swinging! Haha! Swingers apparently planted them outside their houses to let others know!
Yes, Tsubaki is called Camellia in English. They are the same plant that gives tea leaves, Camellia sinensis, but cultivated for ornamental flowers instead of a tea crop.
I've ridden a bike when I was young but never could stop properly LOL. I haven't done it since, I just have a lot of anxiety, also about biking on the road where I live, I don't like the idea.

Another glorious day out! Thank you. This is just the most beautiful and interesting place! Now I feel less sad that I didn't make it to Japan (trip cancelled because of Corona, Today is the day I should have been returning home from a 7 week trip) because I wouldn't have known about Showa Kinen Koen!
I have now added it to my trip calendar (moved forward a year) and I will definitely be visiting here in 2021. And I'll be staying for the whole day, I'm sure! I will be renting a bike (as there is no traffic I can risk it 😃.) Perhaps you'll both join me 😃😃 How about it? I've written it in for December 1st 2021.
By the way the glorious pink flowers that Satoshi photographed are I believe camellias. I wonder if they are related to the tea plant because the Latin name for the tea plant is Camellia sinensis, The leaves looked very like those of the tea plant you showed us and even the flowers seemed similar to me.
Yes those were Camellias- the pink flowers Shinichi asked about. I think they were the ornamental Camellia Japonica. The tea leaf shrubs in the video were Camellia Sinensis.

My son has been there as his school field trip and we have been there as our own picnic. Showa Park, the land itself used to be US military facility for a while, so no wonder it’s a large park in Japan. Thanks for another amazing video. 子供が学校の遠足で、昭和記念公園に行きました。すごく広いですよね。

The "sweeping tree" is called "maiden silvergrass" (Miscanthus sinensis).
We have Miami MORIKAMI Museum and Japanese Gardens. my first time to visit, was after the death of my 23-year--old Son. my doughtter saw me so badly that she took me, to the Japanese garden, I tell you guys, I could feel my Son moving among the bamboo trees and making me feel that infinite peace that is breathed there. THANKS
Lovely park!! The tree with brightly colored leaves is very common in yards here in California. Usually called 'Japanese Maple' and one that turns bright red is favored. I can see three of these in my neighbor's yard from where I'm sitting now. A few years ago we had a sudden big problem with thieves stealing these trees from people's yards and selling them for $$$ at flea markets! Also all us kids in my town learned to ride a bike. I fell a lot, kept trying, then one day...ZOOM! Such fun :)

Another lovely bike ride! I do know how to ride a bike...but to be honest, I don't enjoy it. The last time I did, Was a complete disaster. I still have scars. So, no thank you.
I'm in the US and I know how to ride a bike as did everyone in my family and all my friends growing up. Swimming is what a lot of people can't seem to do in my circle. I can swim, but it is less common. I'm in ATX these days and bike riding is pretty serious here. I don't own a bike right now tho. If I need one I can rent one.
I hope I'm not too late and someone has already answered your question. That plant with the feathery plumes and what looks like thin sharp strands of long leaves we call Pampas grass in The San Francisco Bay Area where I live.

Not sure if anyone else has answered this before. 'Tsubaki is Camellia'. Its oil has been used by the cosmetic industry to create hair and facial products.
Shinichi I truly think that you hurt Satoshi's feeling's you ride off with out him then when you stopped to look around you didn't wait for him at both times he truly looked upset I'm not trying to be mean I just feel bad for him but then when you stopped to eat things were better please don't take what I'm saying the wrong way . It's just I would feel the same way there are times that my Husband is the same way and it hurts. I enjoy your ride !
It could be better to buy your bike while it is colder weather, as it may go up in price in better weather. That's what happens here in the UK, when demand goes up so does the price, but when things are not required so much the price goes down in the sales.
In all fairness...u should learn how to drive a car🙂. Give yr sister a break...?

I am from Greece, and although most of the Greeks know how to ride a bike, l don't... And l was really suprised when l vishited Japan and saw how bicycle friendly every city was. I am.going to learn how to ride, so l.can rent one next time l visit. It is a great way to go around

This was my style of 📹 video , so much to see and enjoy with breathe taking scenery. As a 🌱plant lover this would be a place to visit.
Most importantly this would also be great opportunity to share with the government officials how important it is to incorporate other foreign languages to there signs .So tourist can understand it's not for walking, jogging. ( Which was quite noticeable in the video). A simple sign 🚷like this would be great so we understand .

Love this park. Its absolutely beautiful in Spring n Autumn . Its a 40min train ride from the city but well worth it. I usually stop at Nishi Tachikawa, which is nearer to the entrance. Take the train back to Tachikawa to spend the daty, lots of places to shop and eat.
Momiji are called acer trees in the UK and they are very popular and beautiful to see! They're one of my favourite trees.
Ein wunderschöner Park. Ich kann zwar Fahrrad fahren aber ich hatte vor 28 Jahren einen schweren Verkehrsunfall bei dem mich ein Auto erwischt hat. Seit dem traue ich mich nicht mehr zu fahren.
