I take @beaulieu_garage's AK427 AC Cobra replica out for a spin around the fantastic roads of the New Forest and use my knowledge of my Dax Tojeiro to compare what it is like.

I kinda like the sound, the gearbox whine is a nice extra audible touch to the experience.
Great Video Adam, That beautiful AK is Gen 1, and is slightly smaller inside (fine for me) because of the wide tunnel, the later Gen's have a narrower tunnel so a bit wider inside (not that you need it! lol), i think the column on that one is a Ford, mine is a Rover and has in and out, as well as up and down movement, so i sit at arms length, its also made for a much taller person than me, so i have spacers on the pedals, as i sit away from the wheel, mine also benefits from hydraulic PWS, that i would recommend to anyone. Keep up the great work with your passion for all things Cobra!
How do you get the black license plates? Wanting to scratch build db5 one day. From what ive looked at you need to keep a lot of the Donor car.
Greetings from, hopefully another southerner and new subscriber. 2 things, first thing, you having a Cobra of some description restores my faith in younger motor heads having genuine taste, thank goodness. Second thing, where did you get the jacket? All the best, stay safe.

The spec is very nice. Much closer to the genuine cars than most replicas.
Shelby originally wanted a Chevy V8 for the cobra but they didn’t want to supply an engine to a corvette competitor so he went to ford.
Correct, a fact I often inform the 'Ford boys' when they shout at me.

Staggered wheel setup is nice. I would def have to have wider rears than fronts...
I prefer under body pipes and the more classic look but all cobras are amazing.

I have always wanted to buy one of these but seeing the tiny interior, I could never now. He'll, I sold my S2000 because that had a small interior but this is even smaller.
When comparing to a modern, you said no heating , but my AK has a heater, noticed the fan switch on the dash so wonder if this one does too ?
Yeh perhaps this one does. I didn't consider it too much as I'm used to my one, which doesn't have heating. But I know a lot use heater units from old Minis.
@@AdamC3046 Yeah i think the AK uses a VW Polo one, didnt build mine so not 100%sure, i think Pilgrim used to use Mini i am sure some of the older builds i have seen have the old mini slider thingy on the dash. I have had a couple of MGBGT V8's they didnt need a heater as that Rover V8 used to warm you up through the bulkhead nicely lol
Your side pipes on yours do you burn your legs on the side pipes?

Enjoyed the review thanks. I would take issue with you though over the chevy engine. A ford 302 is more compact and just as tuneable and certainly no more expensive. Never understood why people put chevys in a cobra
jase6370 Chevy’s are a lot cheaper and easier to get parts for than a Ford in the UK

Yeh, it was around the back as they hadn't put it up for sale yet. However they have now sold it.

It will be around the 1000kg mark. Mine was 945kg with me in it and a full tank of gas at the SVA weigh in.

The front end and position of the radiator are different. I like the Dax better
Sadly this car, although still exists has been badly damaged in a smash. It is now a class S write off although still recoverable. If I had the space I would buy it myself just to save it.

@@AdamC3046 look it up mate. Cobras with bowties, even replicas aren't worth the metal to put them together in the USA. Maybe in England but definitely a bust at car auctions like Barrett Jackson and Mecum.
