    I would still take the time to drill two holes front and rear sides in the fuselage. I would then use wood dowels or arrow shafts for attaching rubber bands to hold the wing in place. I would not want to rely on plastic screws to hold the wing in place. Just my opinion here.

    • @Luvtoflyhelis
      @Luvtoflyhelis  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uh, heck no, the bolts are ten times stronger than the rubber bands, i would not own a plane that had rubber bands to hold the wing on

    • @derekinbritishcolumbia1449
      @derekinbritishcolumbia1449 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rubber bands are good so long as you use good quality ones. One needs to keep a bunch off new ones around as they can age pretty fast when out of the package. Also getting soaked in oil from the motor.
      I use nylon bolts for all my models to ensure a strong connection without needing to overdo the rubber band tensions. In a bad crash, the wing saddle bolting plate has pulled out, so can sometimes lead to bigger repair jobs. Just no wing separations from failed rubber bands.

Congrats on your plane, it's a great flyer for sure, i have some electrics on my smaller planes as well but mostley gas and nitro on this size planes and up, nothing wrong with electric for sure, a lot cleaner and quiter. Take care my friend and happy flyin' to ya, Terry

    Hi Terry, just been watching this great video of the LT 40. You flew it really well. I have a brand new OS 52 Surpass fourstroke that's been sitting in a box for 5 years now and I was wondering Terry would this engine be enough power for the LT 40 ? I'm just finding it difficult to find a suitable plane as I don't want an aircraft underpowered with the 52. Kind regards, Aidan. P.S, hope your keeping well?.

    • @Luvtoflyhelis
      @Luvtoflyhelis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aidin, good to here from you my friend. I think it would probably fly it like scale flying bug it won’t be over powered by any means, i has a big wing with a lot of lift so not sure, it might fly it better than i think, be worth a try. Hope all is well in Ireland.

    • @easystar123
      @easystar123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Luvtoflyhelis Thanks Terry and great to hear from you also. Everything here in Ireland is good. Just to update you Terry, I couldn't get my hands on an Lt 40, but what I did buy was two weeks ago, a Seagull models Boomerang trainer as I still like to have a trainer around. The all up flying weight of this plane is just slightly over 6lbs. Would love to use the OS 52 surpass fourstroke , but I think it would struggle Terry with long take offs required. So I've decided that I have two spare OS 46fx engines lying around and might use one of them instead with a bit more power. What would you advise Terry? Many thanks and a happy and healthy new year to you. Aidan.

    • @Luvtoflyhelis
      @Luvtoflyhelis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aidan, sorry i haven’t checked my email in a while. The 52 four stroke will fly it very scale but it won’t have a lot of extra power, if your wanting a little over powered then you might want to go with the 46 two stroke, sure do love the sound of the four stroke though. Would love to see it fly when you get it finished, take care my friend, Terry

  • @modbnet
    @modbnet 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do think that the model is tail heavy since you had to put in so much down elevator trim?

    • @Luvtoflyhelis
      @Luvtoflyhelis  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the view, no it seems to be balanced well, i have checked it 2 or 3 times, it's just part of a maiden flight, sometimes they are really close and other times they need a little trimming out, if the plane climbs it doesn't meen that it is tail heavy, you have to trim out a real airplane as well once you reach your cruising speed. Take care and happy flyin' to ya

    I would try to stay away from those electric roto starts at all cost, the amount of stress, tear and wear on rod and crankshaft is a lot. Try as much as possible to use a chicken stick.

    • @Luvtoflyhelis
      @Luvtoflyhelis  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Don't know where you get your information from but sorry the electric starters do NO HARM WHAT SO EVER to the engine, you couldn't put enough preasure on it to damage a crank shaft or bearing
