    Thank you.sure looks sharp i hope to get one soon. Im ok with my sport planes but im rusty on landings . This amazing lt40 would be a great plane to show me better approaches and touch downs. Happy flying.

      It’s deff a great plane for landing and all around smooth fun flying for sure. You deff should grab one when you can or snatch up a deal used somewhere. I also enjoy the sport planes as well can beat the fun factor. Enjoy the flying as well

    That looks like an excellent plane/engine combo. I have an LT-25 and have had a Sig Senior in the past and those are also nice models. I want to get the LT-40 kit and build one of those too. But I will add an aluminum main gear to get around the squatty look you get with the wire landing gear.

    • @scalercchicago9938
      @scalercchicago9938  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep I agree , these are great flyers and super fun planes. You can get up in the thermals and chill on throttle and stay up for so long on a tank on the LA 46. I think the better landing gear would make big difference

      @@scalercchicago9938 I have built three Senioritas in the past and have another kit stored in my attic waiting for its turn on the building board. I put FP-25s on mine and they would fly on 2 clicks above idle for a long time. My record was one 42 minute flight. The Seniorita and Sweet Stick were my two favorite models to fly. Sig offered some of the best flying models. I also would like to get a Mid-Star 40. So many planes, so little time.

      @@ttiroff very nice , I agree with the above and also I had an awesome 40 two years ago. All original from back in the day. Good friend I work with he has tons tons kits and arf’s. They are all original old planes but mint. When the planes were built super good. My other favorites are the stik 40 and I also have a ultra stik with a fx 75. Such an awesome plane as well. I’ll be posting more vids this summer. Cool you have good taste as well

    I bought the same plane back in the late 90's and mostly built it in 2014. It's still sitting unfinished but so close to being done. I can't help but notice the way your wing attaches. Is it in 2 pieces? Mine was build in accordance to the instructions as a one piece wing and it holds to the fuselage with elastics.

    • @scalercchicago9938
      @scalercchicago9938  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s an original also from way back in the day. The wings are secured as when you mount and dismount it stays as one big wing.
      You should get that going and put a LA46 on it. Greta plane , great flying for sure.

      @@scalercchicago9938 I already do have a motor for it. It too is quite old but in new condition as it's mounted to the plane now but never fired. It is an Italian made Super Tigre GS-40. When I bought the motor it was my understanding that it was a decent piece of kit. What are your thoughts on the radio I should select. I want decent quality without breaking the bank, and isn't too complicated to learn. I already have servos, and they too are mounted to the plane. They are the Hitec HS-425BB Deluxe. Thanks in advance!

    • @scalercchicago9938
      @scalercchicago9938  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jimdent351 motor should be good to go. If it has never been fired no need to clean the carb or really mess with it. Just make sure the tank it set up right and you should be fine. The old tigers are good to go for motors.
      For radio I would 100% go with spektrum. I would just grab a DX6e as it’s got a good screen , easy to use and won’t break the bank. Then jump on Amazon and grab yourself a spektrum sport receiver and 4 channel one there cheap but very solid. Get the new type that has push button binding.

      @@scalercchicago9938 Thanks for the advice. I will be finishing it this winter because, as stated, it's so close to being finished and I've been anxious to get it flying. I started the build in 2014 when my first child was born but he became such a handful that I just had to quit working on it. Lately he's been bugging me to see it fly and that's motivated me to get busy again. Thanks again.

      Looks heavy but pretty light compared to the size, flys super smooth and what a great plane to have a blast from. Very capable as well for a lot of things. Rolls are slow but expected because of design but if you ever have a chance to fly do it.

    • @kiheirc3195

      That’s what I thought as well significantly tail heavy, push that receiver battery forward and/or add a touch of weight .
