this vlog made me rmb why i love being singaporean. as a singaporean student, i have the luxury to come to jewel to study almost everyday practically at one point leading up to my a levels. i always stayed to night time and sat by the waterfall after studying to relax and unwind. rlly nice vlog! hope you enjoy/enjoyed singapore :)
For sure you are fortunate. Jewel is VERY cool. And the city itself has such a clean, modern, and fresh feeling. It must be a great place to live. I feel like it has a lot to offer and I hope to explore it more in the future. Perhaps you can share some other must see places and things a person shouldn’t miss?
@@NikoTravels thank you! to be very honest the bad thing about singapore is that it is really small and there’s not a lot to do. however i do recommend you to go to sentosa for a beach day and universal studios but it might be a bit expensive of an entrance fee. if you want to go for cultural hotspots, i see a lot of tourists at chinatown. if you want to exercise, you can choose from the many reservoirs here. i live close to punggol waterway and it’s a very nice place to walk at. you can start your walk from waterway point which is punggols biggest mall and go towards either the beach and coney island or the punggol container restaraunts in the opposite direction. very much less of a tourist attraction and thus is more authentic local experience (ps the view past punggol beach and coney island is gorgeous) there’s a lot to do in this route but it’s going to have a lot of walking or cycling if you’re looking to rent a bicycle food wise, you should eat from hawker centres which are filled with all sorts of local cuisine. the food is quite inexpensive and very delicious. visit those famous and old hawker centres if you can. some of them even have michelin stars and still sell their food at 5 dollars (my favourite is the old changi road hawker centre) for shopping, i recommend vivocity, suntec city, the whole stretch of orchard road (the path along the mrt stations dhoby ghaut, somerset and orchard are full of malls. there is a cafe at the somerset313 mall where you can paint artwork). you can also visit kallang wave mall at the stadium (nearest mrt station is stadium mrt). it’s a small mall but there’s a view at night of the stadium and from the stadium that’s quite nice :) stadium is also close to suntec city mall which is located at promenade mrt i see you’ve visited gardens by the bay during the tour. if you hadn’t, you should explore marina bay sands that’s near gated end by the bay, which is where the iconic boat shaped hotel is located at. the view at night of the city is amazing and the art science museum is also there. the singapore flyer is also nearby other places like the singapore zoo, river safari, night safari, bird paradise are also places to consider visiting for a memorable experience. this is less of a touristy and more of a personal recommendation, the live turtle and tortoise museum. it’s very small and local business but it’s a very cozy environment and filled with turtles. they are recently struggling with business and visitors and it would mean a lot if you could support them :) that’s everything i can think of off my head. explore singapore at your own pace and if you want, go off route and make your own discoveries about singapore :) i really hope you have a great time here, we welcome you with open arms !
Wow, those sound like excellent suggestions. It’s always great to hear a locals perspective as you obviously have the most experience! I think you have created my agenda for the next visit haha. Thank you so much!
If I recall correctly they recommend a minimum of a 7 hr layover for the tour. BUT. If you go to the booth I show in the video then they will tell you if you have the time to do the tour or not. You will clear customs with the tour guide and it will allow you to leave the airport. We did not need any additional visa. I hope that helps.
