Just wanted to say your videos and explanations are SO GOOD. The way you break things down and explain them really hit home. Great teaching skills, I consistently get far more out of your videos than other videos . Keep up the great work
Same concept as "If I always stand out of your pocket then I'll never get hit" Don't be in a position to get hit and you'll never get hit. If your opponent never changes their pocket, never overshooting or only predicting and not following, then it doesn't matter how fast they move if they're always punching the same space in the air.
@@bradolfpittler2875 the statement is true, regardless of whether or not the man who said it was defeated by some of the most skilled fighters on the planet

I'm a very middling or average fighter. I have shorter limbs and lack power so I'm a volume fighter and I'm not very fast either. Never fought at a high level but I have some experience with amerateur. What I've done that has worked for me is definitely feint setups. And something I do against an aggressive and much faster fighter is to walk (step) into their shots while throwing a shot myself. In theory to not let them complete a full rotation or extension and to trade blows with them. Ofc this is relies heavily on timing and it also runs the risk of reacting to a feint and eating a different technique. Have never been knocked out or rocked while doing so (knock on wood 😅) so I think for the time being I will try and improve this method.
Thanks, I'll try to incorporate this in sparring. I'm a heavyweight, relatively fast for a heavyweight too, however there are no other big guys in my gym, they're all lower than 155, and often just pick me apart and overwhelm me with movement.
I suffer the same issue, all the guys in my gym are 40lbs lighter than me or more, and complain if I let my hands go but have no problem going full blast against me. Extremely frustrating to deal with

There's a fascinating book called "the sports gene" that offers a scientific perspective about how differing physiology affects athletic performance. i.e. there's truth to the idiom that white men can't jump. I wonder what physiology is best for mma speed? Is there a certain body type that's superior for kickboxing?
I’m no expert, I fought a few times on short notice and was in a few Karate tournaments. But I hope to compete one day. But in my humble opinion when I fight the fastest guy in the gym who has a big speed advantage over me I always try and keep a high guard, block all his shots and then hit him with timing after using the jab to get a read on his reactions 🤔🤔🤔
GSP used fainting as a gameplan with a faster opponent for 3 rounds, so he can slow down the opponent’s reaction time, then started attacking. At that time nobody did similar things. Amazing stuff.
Oh that’s right. Didn’t an mma fan record his fights with BJ Penn to see how fast his reflexes are? And to add on about slowing down his reaction time, I think they determined they could tire out his reflexes and he also wasn’t as fast to reset after throwing a strike.
Haha. Don't worry about that. I have my idea book. It's got over 400 videos to make. Plus I have a list of requested video which is another 100+. knee fighters and clinchers
When opponent clinches excessively. When some one rabbit punches alot. Same with low blows. Ref. Not keeping order.

Being taller and having superior reach you can actually beat the faster fighter in battle of jabs
They just block my jab
Do you have any tips for shorter fighters in kickboxing related fights?
Careful, im gonna use these against you >:D
Solution to speed, hire Heredia to give you Mexican power pellets 🤣
ok, but what if they kick faster than you too? not only punching and their front kick is faster as well?
