    You did not disappoint...another great episode. Those landscapes are so hard to capture on film. They are lonely, harsh and very isolated but breathtaking at the same time.

    • @Thebluelandy
      @Thebluelandy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are! It think if we had stayed longer we might have been able to capture it with peace and not rush that much. But I already promised Kai to get to the coast as soon as possible. He had waited for surf for months! And yes, this place has it all, harsh and empty but awe inspiring 🤩

    Those beautiful landscapes remind me of outback Australia - very similar.
    Doesn't a Defender look right at home in such remote places, such an iconic vehicle.

    • @Thebluelandy
      @Thebluelandy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes!! The region gave us the feeling we had seen something similar before, but never quite, specially when a giraffe pokes his head behind a tree. 😂😂The Landy feels at Home here. It's a beast that loves such challenges. Well except corrugations, those are man made and were killing our car 💀

      Africa is a rollercoaster, it offers some of the most spectacular sceneries, wildlife and sense of freedom. But it also does present with many contradictions and inequality. Africa has taught us so much, in a way we never expected. Thank you Steve for being there🤗 see you soon!

    Wow, what an incredible place Namibia is.
    You really need to plan very carefully your daily travels in the more remote areas as you guys have done - but boy, what a reward to see all that harsh and beautiful landscape!

    • @Thebluelandy
      @Thebluelandy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, this part of Namibia can be dangerous in case your car is not in shape for example, or don't have recovery gear or you didn't bring enough supplies. But with these things sorted, it is a hell of a drive!! ❤️

      Thank you so much again! It is one of the best places to check the size of the Skeleton Coast. There was a considerable drop yeah, and also, extremely windy! That's why we didn't stay 😵

    Great episode again! Thank you for taking us to this stunning place! Little comment on the tracks you found at the coast: These are hyena tracks. The toes of hyenas have the shape of a garlic clove. There are quite a lot of coast hyenas in Namibia. 😊

    • @Thebluelandy
      @Thebluelandy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am surprised, that people don't talk about it more often! We got it on the internet in Germany. But it broke at the coast in Namibia due to exposure to sea salt. We still need to try to flush it with fresh water and se if we can revive it.

    • @Thebluelandy
      @Thebluelandy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 😊
      Oh yeah, I would not do it with a petrol engine the fuel consumption is way better with a diesel and you got more torque at low rpm.
      We are really lucky with the car, but we're also checking on all new noises and do frequent proper maintenance.

    • @buffalolizard

      It does seem like the best option for the job. The TDI engine reminds me of my old 2005 Cummins diesel engine…300,000 miles and not one problem!

    Great episode. What I don’t understand though why you didn’t camp at one of the community campsites in Purros and support the locals?

    • @Thebluelandy
      @Thebluelandy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! We always prefer to camp in the bush. We have been doing it since we started and we love the feeling of freedom and connection to nature. we are self-sufficient, so we rarely stay in campsites or hostels. We know is important to support the local community and we choose to do so once in a while.

      Hi! Thanks for your comment. What's annoying? My voice, the things that I say or how often I say them. Can you be more specific? Some can be adapted others I was born with. 😂😂😂😂 And I understand everybody has their preferences, so you can always mute the video and put subtitles in TH-cam. There is always a way. Waiting for your feedback 😜
