Epic End to Our NAMIBIAN Adventures | Sossusvlei-Fish River Canyon // EP.61

  • We are spending our last days in Namibia, exploring iconic locations like Sossusvlei, Fish River Canyon and Lüderitz. But we also experience much more, just driving in the desert and even seeing a train that derailed.
We left the Farm after amazing days, stopped in Windhoek for some needed repairs and started driving South, to the desert again. This time we are visiting the south of Namibia, first stop is Sossusvlei. Famous for the red sand dunes, some of the oldest on the planet and also between the tallest! Normally one would come here at sunrise and sunset, but we didn't make it logistically, but that's ok, in such a trip one learns to don't focus that much on checking all the boxes. Instead we are continuing towards the desert, experiencing incredible landscapes and Wildlife. This is one of our favorite parts of this trip, just roaming around.
We make it to Lüderitz, where we wanted to surf. Unfortunately it doesn't work but stay anyway as we find this coast extremely beautiful. We decide against going to Kolmanskop, instead we stop at a train that recently derailed on the way to Lüderitz. We see many accidents on the road but nothing like this.
Our last destination is Fish River Canyon, and for us one of the highlights of Namibia. We like it that much that we stay the whole day admiring this wonder.
    Enjoy the Ride!

Bon vent i molta sort!

Grazie mille Damiano!

Hey Matt, I (Kai) guess we are in the same boat. I suffer a lot in hot and humid places. Desert is most of the time ok cause it's dry. My recommendation would be go in winter (July - August) it's cold in the morning but as soon as the sun it out it's nice there!

I bet it is!! Kai was explaining it to me while we were in front of the canyon! But he said exactly the same, crowded it most of the cases. The Fish River Canyon is awesome because you can drive around, park and drink coffee absolutely in silence with an stunning view. One day I will make it there, most probably not in this trip... 💸

You should really call this the "Moody-Blue" Landy".....the German guy is not really a barrel of laughs is he.
If you bump into the Australian/French couple you could ask the French woman to give you some tips on cooking good meals while on the move (steffi...who appears to be a very good cook...like many French)
    (What about Basque cookery?)

This time I'm with you on the "German Guy".
      What a sour bro....
Hope South Africa can put a smile on his face...otherwise he's going to suffer, as we are a very friendly and smiling nation...
( Not that big a smile like Leigh when he is with Stephi 😂 )
He didn't like Deadvlei, was here at a young age before, Instagram bla bla bla....
Driving 50 000km with a lovely girl, but don't take her 1km off the tar into Kolmanskop, because he has seen empty old houses and ruins before bla bla bla...

Hahaha we get this comment a lot! Or is it you in other videos? 🙈 Kai looks like a very serious German to strangers but he is the first to joke around between friends and family. In some videos you can see it but in general is difficult to show this part of the personality when there is a camera pointing at you. And ,no he is not going to fake it for the sake of TH-cam, sorry guys 🤣🤣🤣 oh, we met Stephy in Cape Town🎉 After all this time on the road she absolutely knows how to be creative around food! We are not chefs but we consider ourselves pretty good cooks and we mix recipes (German, Spanish, Basque ❤️)

It's funny to read these comments! 🤣 or at least I(Irati) are laughing right now! see what I did there? 😜
I guess I shouldn't be spending time writing this but as you did spend the time, I guess is fair🤔 Smile doesn't equal happiness and not smiling doesn't mean you are joyless. We are honest in this channel and show it how we feel it, Sossusvlei will not be in out top list of places to visit. We enjoy other places a lot more(including Fish River Canyon in the video), but this is personal opinion and that's great so we don't all end up doing the same thing 😬 I also didn't feel like going to Kolmanskop, and we are not going to go because it makes great content in TH-cam.
I hope you find joy in our videos, and start seeing behind "the German guy" .😜 We do live our life how we want, and take the time to share some hints in this channel. Enjoy!
