Yes, you need a punch kit. My 06 F250 was stolen by just punching the lock, not by manipulating the rod between the plate and the door. Jimmi jammer would ‘t have done anything for me.
I have a video of a guy sticking a screwdriver into the lock of my 2015 SD and he opened the door within a few seconds. The Jimmy Jammer would have not stopped him. What I did was purchased a read door handle with out the key hole and installed it in the front door, perfect fit.
If they decide to pry underneath (or elsewhere) other than the lock punch, they can still get in there. Best setup is running a carriage bolt through the key hole / lock hole, AND putting a jimmi jammer.
you skipped a step of installing the jam plate. I couldn't figure out to fit or slide the plate over the lever so I has to remove my leve to get the plate on, now I am battling for over an hour to get the E CLIP back on, this has been the hardest part. hopefully someone shows us THAT step.

No prob, any little bit you can do to secure your truck helps. A Ravelco, kill switch, alarm system, jimmi jammers, steering wheel club, pulling a relay/fuse, any of it helps deter thieves.
