Outstanding job on your video production with clear video and voice instructions to complete this job. By watching this video I will be handling this by myself.
Thanks from Cajun Nation in South Louisiana,

lol. It was blurry at multiple points and nearly everything was unbolted, disconnected or already done prior to filming. It was amateur and doesn't give me hope.

My 2021 F250 lock rod is slightly different in that it is nearly impossible to completely disconnect once removed from the door locking mechanism. The bend in the end is different so I ended up just folding it down 90 deg. and wrapping some foam around it with a zip tie to keep it from rattling around. Other then that, pretty close to the video. The passenger side went much quicker having no lock mechanism to deal with. Only have to remove the bottom nut and the side bolt under the plastic cover, insert the metal plate and reinstall the nut and bolt.

. . . also struggled to remove the lock-rod, but once I grabbed my Dremel tool, just the threat of that caused it to remove itself !!

Wouldn't just removing the lock rod provide the same level of protection, since the lock can't be actuated without it?

    • @trucksecurityvideo
      @trucksecurityvideo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Certainly that is part of the solution. However, in each door on the truck there are additional lock actuating rods inside the door that can be accessed by prying in around the door handle. You need to put the plates on all doors and remove the lock cylinder from the drivers door to protect your truck. Thanks for watching and your question.

"same level of protection" No. No way. It will help, but they can still get "in there" and root around to get it to open

When the battery dies and all the doors are locked 🤣

Not a huge deal, inconvenient yes. But well worth it to have the extra security, in my opinion.

Hello Sir, can you tell me if the door handle pull cable terminates on to exterior door handle?

Ordered this for my 2019 Raptor all 4 doors plus the lock delete driver's side punch plug. Followed the video step by step and it went fairly easily. I have a nice trim removal kit so that helped a lot.
A couple things to note: On my 2019.
The little black screws are 7mm (one up top right and two on the bottom)
The four other bolts (2 on door grab handle and 2 below it) are 8mm
The main bolt that holds the door handle in that's on the side of the door is a 10mm
The two nuts that are inside the door panel that hold the door handle on are 10mm
The little lock arm deal is NOT that easy to remove. Mine had an extra little bend at the end that held it in. It was difficult and took some time, but I got it. I don't know "how" I got it, it just finally popped out. Otherwise I would share it! End result: It's out!
At this point (Minutes after job complete on driver's side) I'm not too sure about the very last door plug as it will ONLY be held in there with silicone of which is all over the place. Ugh... I cleaned it up as much as I could but I want it to seal well and stay in there. It LOOKS cool and definitely says, "F off! You're not getting in here this way" LOL! I just hope it stays.
Per the instructions and the video, I will wait the 24hrs and clean it up more and report back. So far, I love it and I already feel MUCH more confident with the security of my truck and the stuff that I don't leave in it!
    Thank you again! Great video!

Thanks Marcus, just curious as to why you ordered an extra PunchPlug to eliminate the lock on the drivers door. The PunchPlug to eliminate the lock comes in the kit, as does the LockCap to cover the hole on the handle pull. On that, The silicone is a good bond if you cleaned the handle before applying. If you let the silicone dry completely, the excess can be peeled off easily. Thanks for the comments!

@@stevepetersen4878 Hi Steve! Well, that's a good question ;) I DO know that I didn't receive two punch plug kits. Only one. Even when I realized I only had one, I was going to call and see what was up, but then realized... "no... I only NEED one." Duh! I haven't checked my invoice... did I pay for two??? LOL!!!!
I only did the drivers door today. I will do the rest of the doors tomorrow. Should be pretty easy. Everything comes apart very easy so that's no big deal. I also notice on the other doors you say NOT to take both of the nuts off inside the door panel that hold the handle on. You say to only remove the bottom one, of which makes sense. I'll report back on that project.
I installed the hood latch protection cover today. On my 2019 there is not need to remove any shroud at all. The two bolts were accessible. The one on the left as you face the truck is a little tricky to get to due to a wiring harness that can be held back and out of the way, but it's not "easy" and be SURE to be VERY CAREFUL not to drop anything down in that mess! I didn't, but I have dropped a socket down in there before and I can still see it in there! LOL!
      Thank you for the reply!

      A few updates.
      1. I did the other three doors today. I took me a total of 43 min to do all three doors. Super easy once you've done the driver's side! I had to keep reminding myself to "SLOW DOWN" "TAKE YOUR TIME" it's ok! Only because I have learned throughout the years... if I get in a hurry and become too complacent, that's when sh$t gets cracked, broken, lost, twisted, or injured.
My point, is that it really was easy and it's a small price to pay for the product and the time/effort to protect your investment.
      2. Disclaimer: This was USER ERROR. The black plug & silicone on the drivers door handle on the outside. It was in there and it was dry and I was able to peel off the excess and all that, but it was not secure in there. A small bit of manipulation and it fell right out. I was too conservative with the silicone last night. I was trying to be too careful of which led to 1. making a bigger mess and 2. not having enough in there. Today, I took it out, cleaned it all off with alcohol, wiped it all down really well and started over. This time, I used a tongue blade type thing and put a large GLOB in that little hole, then placed the plug in there. It already looks better. Yes, there's silicone coming out, but it will come right off. I'm pretty confident it will be fine 24hrs from now.
That's it... all in all, if you watch the video, follow it, stay organized this is an easy job.
I DO have a nice set of trim removal tools and a bazillion piece socket/wrench set so I had the right tools for the job. I say this, because I know from experience that that makes a difference.
It's a great product and I feel much more at ease now knowing just how easy it is to get in these trucks without the Jimmie Jammer.
      Thanks for the support here!

For my 2018 Ford F150 XLT, If I purchase an extra passenger handle (without the key hole), Will I be able to flip the handle and install it on the driver's door...will that work? thus having two handles with no key holes?

    • @trucksecurityvideo
      @trucksecurityvideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You would have to modify the Jimmi' Jammer plate a little bit to get it to fit the upside down passenger handle on your drivers door. Not a hard mod, but would need to remove some metal.

Bad idea, if someone stabs your lock and turns it and breaks it, the truck disarms the security system because it thinks it's you... It is a dumb design... Then the thief is good to steal

    • @dusty6570

a couple democrats disabled my horn behind the ford emblem on my 202 f350. then manually turned the cylinder to get in. The plate helps but removing the lock cylinder is imperative.

    Where are you located?
Do you do installs or do you have recommended installers?

    • @trucksecurityvideo

We are in the Phoenix area of Arizona. You can look for a local dealer at www.jimmijammer.com look for the "Where to Buy" link. Or you can give us a call on our support line 480-812-1600. If there are no local dealers, car stereo and alarm stores usually do a great job of installing these for a reasonable price. Thanks for watching!

The 14 thumbs down must be democrat thieves who hate this product! Will be buying this very soon! FORD must know about this problem that they designed. One would think FORD would send these to every customer with these trucks because they are the reason it's needed!
