Card Review | Hearthstone | Perils in Paradise Card Review #8
The Divine shield spell says characters instead of minions. Potentially can be used on heroes. Actually pretty major.
Woah!! No one’s talking about how sea shanty is a new 10 mana spell! Now chaotic tendrils could summon 15/15 in stats!! could be a huge overwhelming force in the mid-late game.
he turned himself into a location, funniest shit i've seen
Here's what happens in magical Christmas land.
You are a mage.
You play Lifesaving Aura on turn 1. You get a sunscreen.
You hit something with a targeted mage spell turn on turn 2.
You play a concierge which reduces cards from another class by 1 mana, hit it with 2 0 cost sunscreens, hit it with 5 0 cost divine brews, then hit yourself with the last divine brew. You play a 0 cost sea shanty.
Thats a 5/8 with divine shield and 3 5/5s on turn 3.
I hadn't noticed you could target heroes with divine brew until reading this, I was wondering why the attack buff was temporary (if it was minions only it could have been a permanent +1/+1 and felt more fair)
The 0 mana divine brew is only the first, it's like bananas, you only discount the first one.
That's like 6 cards 😂 3 of them specific it could be a cool scam deck but is it worth it?
You can start your game with 2 10 mana card and auto lose the game.
@@Pierowinsforever Concierge is an aura
@@stanleyliuchangtian5382 it’s probably not worth making a deck around this silly scam strategy. That’s why I said this happpens in magical Christmas land lol.
Sanc'Azel just seems crazy for 5 mana. A 3/8 with rush that gives another minion +3 attack and rush but scales like crazy with handbuffs? So in actuality it's a 8/13 with rush that gives another minion +8 attack and rush? And it can attack twice in a turn? This is going to get nerfed I swear.
Why is Divine Brew "this turn"? Why didn't they just make it give it +1 attack permanently? I don't think that would be overpowered or anything.
It's because you can use it on your hero, so +1 Attack would stay on your hero forever. I forgot to talk about this because I got so caught up in the Sea Shanty slander, haha.
@@RegisHearthbinHow could you forget? This is the first card to give your hero divine shield since Starlight Groove, and everyone knows how incredible that card was! (wdym it’s still in standard?)
Day 1 craft and will not regret if it gets nerf
And with the pirate that gives windfury that's gonne be even more fun on southsea deckhand!!! give +3 to your hand and thats a 11 attack charger that you can give windfury to. And even worse, if at any point a pirate survives, with that location thats double the effect with the windfury... I really dont get why they printed windfury again.....
Okay so far this is the card reveal set Regis carries the most disbelief for.
Which inevitably means someone will turn it into a tier 1 deck after a week and a half.
Mages tourist card should have been a spell so the 10 mana pally spell would work in no creature mage
Hey Regis, there is a special interraction with the card "Lifeguard" and "soft" spell casters like Prison of Yogg-Saron and the demon that casts secrets.
The way these "your next spell" effects work is they give that effect passively to spells until after a spell is cast from hand. (This can be verified with the card "celestial shot")
This means you can use that lifesteal effect without spending it in a few ways, like setting up a damaging secret before playing lifeguard, or by using minions or locations that cast spells for you.
I think abusing a powerful mechanic like lifesteal this way is really going to make that card work even better than it looks!
The first thing I'm doing when the expansion drop is play "I'm not technically casting anything" mage in wild with turtles that cast spells from your deck for you and Iceblood towers.
Can turtles still chain? I thought they fixed that way back.@@BernieDSniper
Sanc'Azel turn 5 -> Power Spike turn 6 -> Power Spike turn 7, keep Sanc'Azel as a location as much as possible, +11 Attack every turn
I just noticed that the textbox on locations is shaped like an open book. neat
Tentacles are back
I appreciate that Blizzard didn't want to make another Garden's Grace, but at the same time boy does Sea Shanty seem like it sucks. Even if you get it for cheap, they're still just vanilla 5/5s that don't make any immediate impact on their own
they could have had the "random bonus effect" thing at least
Azel is going to be nuts. Especially if buffed attack by +5 . A one drop rush minion getting plus 8 attack killing almost anything. Nuts potential!
Does the service ace work with hand buff? Can it just sit in your hand discounting 10+ mana over a whole game?
You could get double sea shantu with Lanessa right? As long as its reduced down below 2 mana? Not sure how much better it is but worth to note
Hey Regis! Love your videos. I’m actually new to Hearthstone coming over from Marvel Snap. I’m in the intial rental deck window needing to choose a deck. Any recs for increasing my collection to be able to use decks you recommend, and ways to prepare for this new expansion? Eager to dive in 🌊🏴☠️ Thanks again for all you do for these communities while being an amazing new father too! ✨
There's not that much but if you're looking to be free-to-play: do your daily/weekly/event quests, do tavern brawls, and I guess stick to competitive decks to get more end of season ranked rewards. I think since your collection is small, the "catch up" packs are probably good value as well, but those weren't a thing when I started playing so I can't say for sure. good luck!
for each expansion you get a "free" card by getting the first pack of the expansion. (if you pick the Death knight deck they that is the "free" card from Titans). the Festival Packs will get you ETC Band Manager which is pretty good. "catch up packs" and "standard packs" are from the same pool the catch up packs are kind of 10 standard packs stapled together, but the Catch up packs can not give you extra cards (so they will only give you up to 2 of a card), and I don't think they can give legendaries. there is a "pity system" for packs in a given expansion you are guaranteed a legendary in the first 10 packs, and then guaranteed at within the 40 after that. Standard Packs can give you variety, while if you are looking for specific rares or Legendaries then get the specific expansion. look at HSreplay to see if any of the decks look interesting, other creator could show you possible decks as well (beware Mark's decks they look fun but the ability to win is Low and often very specific)
Sanc'Azel is still an Elemental, which might make it even useful in Elemental Mage
Mage finally has Lifesteal.... Nice!! I know it had it with the Jaina DK Hero card
Leeroy out here about to flex his muscles
What if you play the Sunscreen cards in mage with the tourist, then run the new Concierge card. Wouldn't that make the Sunscreen cards cost zero mana?
Sanc'Azel seems like a crazy 5 mana board clear+ finisher for an aggro paladin deck
Sanc'Azel is going to be in a Mark Therazane spam into Stonetusk combo I'm sure
This just in: Regis speaks out against using sunscreen
Being able to divine brew your face is interesting, I have no idea if it'll be good though but still.
I was incredibly excited for Paladin when I saw Lynessa, but this sunscreen buff package doesn't really hit like I was hoping. I guess we're counting on Rogue to save the deck.
Handbuff Pally definitely needed more ways to buff charge cards /s
I know, right? Man, I love that deck! (Unironically)
If I had a nickel for every time Hearthstone created a minion that transforms into another type of card, I’d have two nickels. Which really isn’t a lot, but it’s weird to have happened twice.
With the lifeguard card, can you play a buffing spell card and give lifesteal to a minion?
Probably not
No, it gives the spell Lifesteal. If it worked the way you're thinking it would have to be worded "Your next spell has 'the target of this spell gains Lifesteal'" or something like that.
I do not believe so. From the wording of Lifeguard, it would only apply to spells that are doing damage themselves.
The divine brew kinda words like if it had divine shield and lost it, it would get +1 attack and divine shield
This guarantees a destroy locations card right?
Not so sure about Sea Shanty, man... Gives me Corridor Creeper vibes, honestly. Back in those reviews a lot of people said the same thing, how you're not excited about a 5/5 on a later turn, but the thing is, a 0 mana 5/5 is *never* bad. And three 0 mana 5/5s are *never* bad three times in a row.
I think it’s interesting how people always complain about cards costing 0 yet here we see another card that can go to 0 being called bad. Tax fraud is a very powerful mechanic, because I want you to think about all the things paladin can do to minions, all the buffs, the keywords, they various crimes. Now you have three well stated minions you can target for those buffs with 0 setup required. They also are pirates and pirates love being on the battlefield with other pirates so now you can just have free access to aaaaaall your pirate nonsense for free.
I am not going to definitively say sea shanty is an amazing card. But I do think that if the pirates had a fast keyword like rush or taunt then it would be without a doubt. Also unrelated fun fact, dance floor is a card and still in standard. Do with that information as you will.
Ur not gonna need dance floor with sanc’azel in. That card is by far the strongest card they’ve previewed so far, though most of the other cards do seem a bit weak. I think the only way to know which cards are strong with the tourist mechanism is to actually play them in standard for a week, as there’s definitely synergies a lot of people are missing already
Note divine brew says character not minion
Sanc’azel woth scrapbooking student would be crazy
Playing Lifeguard the turn before playing Sunset Valley would be a good swing turn.
Sanc'azel - remornia 2.0?
Blurred Regis isn't real, he can't hurt you.
Lifeguard in mage?
CAn mage use this?
What i think would make the other paladin cards better is just making sunscreens cost 0. Sure it makes the paladin tourist crazy for rogue, but who cares? They already double it to begin with. Sunscreen just seems unusable to begin with given how much setup it takes
These packages feel like you are playing Quest Hearthstone except without the Quest Payoff..
Divine brew can be put on your hero!!!!
Sea shanty is more for mage than paladin, with how many cheap target spell in mage arsenal they would put in deck by default, especially in questline mage
Sanc'Azel only has 1 counter other then reno that is warlorks 8 mana nether we'll see alot of nether i think
Horn?
I swear they love Paladins. every fking expansion they are overpowered
Whole video feels like 15:40
Sanc azel will be a pain
Some really good paladin cards, and some fairly bad cards, this suits paladin just fine.
Giving a minion divine shield for 1 mana is stupid good. You're sleeping on that card.
Nope YOU'RE sleeping on it. It says character not just minion. Giving your character divine shield is nuts
Holy Crap I want Divine Brew nerfed to like 3 mana *already*.
sorry but mage getting a 0 mana for 3 5/5s... thats kinda scary... if you go face it still works as it states characters not minions. then play the spells cost 5 legendary, its basically free . i swear down if we dont see a turn 4 mage board with a 4/4 and 3 5/5s i'll be surprised.
Because Handbuff Paladin needs better cards...
Sea shanty artwork is sus
Broken’Azel.
Just what we were asking for, more handbuff paladin support! *eyeroll*
I just came up with such a sick idea for a neutral epic
4 manna 7/3, Upset Vacationer (Karen haircut)
Draw a minion which costs higher than the highest cost minion your opponent controls, give it taunt
Aggressive stat line with an effect which essentially calls the manager (more expensive card than the opponents) and the manager is defensive (taunt)
Alternatively it could also be
4 manna 7/3 divine sheild, battlecry: your opponent summons a minions that costs more than the highest cost minion they control, this attacks it.
Most likely a horrendous card but the idea that it summons the manager and attacks it is funny
"Br0k3en"
bro do they test these cards or what some of these paladin cards make me sick. so useless and terrible. and why do they pair classes that have no synergy, mage and paldin?
All these slow ass decks gona be destroyed by dragon druid lol
